Their ideas have shaped and continue to shape our political ideologies, reasoning, and constructs. Much like todays gulf in the understanding of Democracy, they too seem to disagree on it. From having read these two magnificent classics, one cannot help but to ponder if Aristotle actually built upon Plato"s premises rather than seeming to disagree with him. As a student of these two ancient political philosophers I will try to engage in this dialogue. This paper will argue that Aristotle"s view on democracy builds on the singular ideal socio-economic premise Plato lays out but adds conflicting premises for the need of practicality enabling him to observe other socio-economic prisms creating a more in-depth take on democracy. Furthermore, to understand Aristotle we need to first observe Plato"s premise.

Within the many developments it has undergone, our modern world has brought with it the need to criticize the lens to which we observe international relations. One of the most prominent of these theories has been Post-Colonialism. It's uniqueness being its ability to synthesize and criticize the subconscious western ideology that we use when we view international phenomena. This paper will assess Post-Colonialism's ideals as applied to international phenomena and the conduct of statecraft. Though Post-Colonialism has left a profound impact on how we view international relations it is short on providing any structural advice and therefore has no applicability in the conduct of statecraft. To do this, we will view three strengths of Post-Colonialism and then also view three weaknesses of Post-Colonialism.
