Golden Angel has done something great,she’s started a new series in the world of BDSM.
And not just any series,no this one features the more mature generation!
Guess who the lucky girl was that got the ARC?
That would be me,and all i needed to do is write an honest review…..easy!!!
It starts with Mitch’s parents,you know the one from Bondage Buddies?
Gavin and Leah have a rocky past,one that still lingers in the present.
But Gavin has had a sort of epiphany,thanks to Logan and Felicity (you know….from Dad Bod Doms) and took steps towards a solution.
Starting with therapy,the kind Leah asked him years ago,before they divorced,he’d go to with her.
And it’s working,because he’s started to see he needs to open up more.
Share his feelings,and ask for the opinion of others before making decisions.
Taking the needs and wants of Leah into consideration,instead taking her for granted.
And he’s reached the point where he’s ready to convince her he’s changed his ways.
Leah is finally ready to leave the past behind and start dating.
No more scening with Gavin at his club Outlands.
Game night with their friends was different,they’d been playing Castles & Creatures for so long….
But just as she’s gotten ready for her first date,Gavin shows up!
And guess who she’s thinking about all evening?
Damn that man for screwing up her first date with Simon!!
If only it stopped there…..
Next thing she knows,she’s agreed to come with him to his next appointment with dr. Silverwood.
And before she knows it,it turns into the couple counseling she wanted him to do all those years ago…
Making them both reconsider what exactly went wrong.
Looking back,they both made mistakes,they both didn’t express their feelings,or ask about how and what.
Is that a good basis to try again,to give eachother another chance to do better?
I loved this first in a new series!
Getting the “older” generation’s experiences within the lifestyle is one i’ve been waiting for,and Golden Angel did a great job of telling Gavin and Leah’s story.
I also loved the therapist’s name,dr. Silverwood!!
Made me think of a certain author…..lol

5 Star Review of Dungeon Master (Dungeons & Doms #1) by Golden Angel
I have read a couple of books by Golden Angel as I was excited when I learnt she had a new series and I couldn’t wait to dive in. From the first chapter I was hooked on Gavin and Leah’s second chance at love story. The fact that this couple is a little older than most couples you read about just added to my enjoyment.
Gavin is the Dungeon Master and he and Leah have been divorced for years, even though they continued to scene together. However Gavin wants more than the physical relationship he has with Leah and is determined to win back her love. The only issue is that Leah has decided to start dating again and not with Gavin.
The walls that Leah has built up since the divorce means that Gavin will have a hard time breaking them down, however with the help of therapy he is focused on winning her love again . Can Gavin and Leah come together, come to terms with the past, learn from it and move on and in doing so find the happily ever after they both deserve?

This story makes me soooooooo happy! Golden Angel brings a second chance romance with an older couple! Gavin and Leah being in their 50s is what really drew me to this story. We not only get the typical steam, and trust me there is steam, that we expect from Golden but we also get the real life stuff that comes with aging.
I love the development of these characters! It is fascinating to see the ups and downs that they go through! Golden Angel gives us a fun, sexy, and entertaining story that makes you want to come back for the second book! A fabulous fun read that you should should absolutely get your hands on!

Where do I begin? It's so nice to see a book that has a mature couple in it. Gavin and Leah are divorced but still "play" together. In fact, they haven't even been with anyone else even after the divorce. They still get together with friends for "game night" and when Leah mentions she finally has a date with someone, it's makes Gavin realize that he doesn't want to let her go. They both screwed up in their marriage and he is finally getting therapy to help him understand what went wrong. Leah has built a wall around her heart so she doesn't get hurt again but knows she still has feelings for Gavin. Can these two make it work a second time around? I loved the fact that each admits to failings but will it all fall apart during a fight about a couple they are friends with?And the therapists? I adore her, she's straight and to the point! All in all, this was such a good book and now I'm eagerly waiting to find out what happens with Jax and Esther.

I love that we get a love story but one where the couple have already been together and divorced but still have sort of a relationship together, even if it's just at the club. The story itself is sort of an epiphany and I love that Gavin finally goes after what he wants. The chemistry with Leah is explosive, even when they don't agree. Everything just feels more real and really resonated with me. Another great story by this author.

I loved this story. Gavin may be Dungeon Master in more ways than one (I want to befriend the puppy) but he’s got some groveling to do to win back his ex-wife. I liked that this story features older couples who still (gasp) have sex.

Dungeon Master is part of the larger Stronghold world so there are references to other characters from other books but you don't need to read any of those books to enjoy the story. If you've read Bondage Buddies this is Mitch's parents story and yes they are kinky! Gavin, Mitch's Dad, actually owns a BDSM club.
The story revolves around Gavin trying to win back his ex-wife Leah ten years after their divorce. So yes this is a mature romance. (Although, I hate that phrase. I know a lot of over 40s that are definitely not mature 🤣) Gavin and Leah are in their 50s. Gavin is a total silver fox and a Dom. Leah is submissive and very hot age not mattering. Most importantly she's still extremely attractive to Gavin and she's still really attracted to him.
The plot as it unfolds is just wonderful to read because it's so real. Golden Angel's characters could be one of my friends easily. Gavin and Leah are working through real life issues that many couples experience. What makes these books different is the BDSM. Every time I read a Golden Angel contemporary novel (she writes some kickass Historicals as well) I'm amazed at how she weaves the sexiness of BDSM, humor, nerdiness, and the dynamics of a close group of friends together into truly unique stories.
I read a lot of books. I honestly think of no other author that writes such vivid real characters while showing BDSM in a balanced realistic light. The BDSM scenes are absolutely hot but they also are written with the guidelines of safe, sane, and consensual. Not to mention the nerdy references to things like Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Dungeon and Dragons plus there's puns! How can you not love a book with some good puns.
If you're interested in reading books about BDSM and romance but aren't ready for or don't want to read a dark romance, Golden Angel's books are the best to try. She has books about just about any level of BDSM with different ages, races, and character backgrounds. Her inclusion of a wide variety of POC makes her books very modern and topical. But look at her publishing dates she's been writing about POC, different sexual preferences etc well before the recent push for those stories. So applause to her for that.
Dungeon Master really out of all her books I've read of hers really delves into the importance of communication and trust in a relationship. Gavin and Leah go through the revealing and often painful process of realizing that they both contributed to the end of their marriage by not communicating. Watching them rekindle their love and work through their issues is inspiring to anyone who wants a long lasting good relationship with their romantic partner.
So definitely give Dungeon Master a try it'll have you laughing and smiling and then squirmy during the sex scenes. This book is a well written romance about a couple taking a chance on a second chance.

This is the first book in the Dungeons and Doms series.
* How did the book make you feel?: I was very disappointed in this book. I read books to escape everyday reality. I wasn't able to with this book. It was about two people who were divorced but still loved each other. They spent years apart but continued to hook up at at Gavins club. They argued and made up through out the book. Although it's nothing like my marriage, it was too 'real' and sad. I might not continue with this series.
* How do you feel about how the story was told?: The story is told from the POV of the main characters. It seems like most of the books I read these days do the same thing. I like it because I feel more a part of the characters, I can relate to them better.
* What did you think about the main characters?: I liked the main characters. My heart went out to both of them for having marriage trouble. I know each of them loved each other but just didn't know how to communicate with the other.

Dungeon Master is the first book in the Dungeons and Doms series. Leah and Gavin have spent the last ten years still scening with each other, still in love with each other, but divorced and living separate lives. Gavin has decided enough is enough and he’s determined to woo his woman back to his side again, but can they let go of their past and build a new future together again with a second chance at love, or will their past be too much to overcome?
I have to admit that second chance romances are not always my favorite books to read, but I really enjoyed reading this book! I loved the dynamic between Leah and Gavin, I loved how each of them wanted more but were a little afraid, and I honestly loved how original this book felt. Reading about an older couple was fresh, knowing that not all happily ever afters are easy after saying “I do” is a theme we don’t always read about, and I liked the unique struggles this couple faced as they built a new relationship on the foundation that was previously formed, in and out of the club. Leah was the one to really protect her heart - she wanted to give in to everything Gavin had to offer, but really felt too burnt after everything she experienced with him previously. It was challenging for her to give up the hurts from their past. Gavin was patient, willing to change, and willing to show his vulnerabilities in ways he never had before. Oh how I loved this Second Chance Romance. Golden Angel gave us a couple over fifty to fall in love with and I couldn't be happier, I read a lot of romances and a lot of them tend to have younger couples ranging from mid twenties to late thirties so I am always thrilled when we are gifted with a couple over forty and when we get one that is even older it's like I've found the gold at the end of a rainbow.
Master Gavin and Leah are a couple that I've heard about before because I read their son Mitch's book, BONDAGE BUDDIES, a while ago and they popped up in another book I read more recently so it was nice to see how their story evolved over the different time periods.
Gavin and Leah had always loved one another that wasn't the issue when they were married but it also wasn't enough to keep them together. Here we are several years later When each of them decide they are going to make changes in their lives, for Leah that means she's finally going to start dating but for Gavin it means he's going to win back the love of his life.
This was a great second chance at love read that had TONS of spice and the sexy scenes...whew I don't think Hot is a strong enough word.
I would recommend this book to those that enjoy STEAMY Contemporary Romances, BDSM Romances, Second Chance at Love Romances, or More Mature Couples in their Romances.

Of course, anyone who reads my reviews knows that Golden Angel is one of my one-click authors so it should come as no surprise when I review the first book, 'Dungeon Master', in her "Dungeons & Doms series. Ms. Angel has done it again by bringing a bit of the unexpected, the unacknowledged to life in a way that only she seems to do. Whereas most BDSM books have heroes and heroines who are in the age range of 20-30 years old, this book is different. Gavin and Leah are in their 50s. Their relationship has fallen apart and they've been divorced for a number of years but agreed to maintain their weekly dungeon play until something changes and Gavin is fighting for the second chance he refuses to give up on. The passion and chemistry are still there it's just not the lust-fueled found in a younger couple. This was a great story and I look forward to reading 'Dungeon Daddy' next.

Soooo.... Mitch’s dad has got it going on! And I’m at this... delightful age where both Mitch AND his dad are equally appealing. 😂 Dungeon Master, gives us Gavin and Leah. If you follow Golden’s work, you know we met Gavin in Dad Bod Doms Logan. And we learned that Gavin and Leah are Mitch’s parents in Bondage Buddies. (I loooooove character tie ins, sooooo much!!! 😍) Taking place roughly a decade after their divorce, Gavin has decided he wasn’t done being married to Leah and goes about doing everything he can to convince her to give him a second chance. Absolutely adored the realities of certain activities after a certain age. Golden just did a great job of accurately portraying the situation. 💜

I am so excited that the book was written with characters who are well seasoned, as they say. Having to read a book with a couple whose a bit older was great. I enjoyed the intimate scenes. The drama was great. Some of the issues that the couple, Gavin and Leah went through helped with the drama. I think the readers will enjoy some of the steamy and very hot moments in the book. Gavin and Leah definitely taught those young people a few things.

This was such a wonderful book! Not only does it have all the kinkI crave in a book, but the characters aren’t 21 years old……they are close to my age! I laughed, cried, felt my heart melt with the connection these characters had. Golden Angel hit a home run with this one! A definite must read!!!

He was blindsided by the divorce, but they've been meeting for scenes. Ironically Gavin and Leah have the bondage buddies relationship that his son Mitch wanted in Golden Angel's previously released Bondage Buddies book. Gavin has decided to declare his intention to win her back on the night she has her first date with someone else.
But that's no deterrent for Gavin. He's got to fight Leah's uncertainty that he's really changed. He's giving everything she had wanted prior to the divorce, but will he keep it up if he wins her back and break her heart again?

A wonderful story of an older couple. Wise to relationships, one still trying to protect her heart, the other trying to put himself out there and win her back. Another winner from Golden Angel, first in a series and absolutely a great read.

Gavin is the Dungeon Master and still has feelings for his ex, Leah. Even though they are divorced they still have scenes together and the chemistry between them is still there. On the night that Leah decides to finally go on a date, Gavin shows up to tell her his intentions to win her back. Will Gavin be able to convince Leah to give him a second chance? An amazing steamy read and one I highly recommend.

This book was my first introduction to Golden Angel’s work and I am so happy to have been given the opportunity of reading such a wonderful story. I was in awe of the whole concept of this book and can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
Dungeon Master is a BDSM, second-chance, mature romance that explores the lives of Gavin and Leah after being divorced for years. I’ve never read anything like this and was so excited to finally come across such a story that could be so relatable. Not only do these two lovebirds share many years of history and a son, but they maintain the company of each other even after their marriage has dissolved.
Gavin is the owner/Master of a bdsm club in which his ex-wife and circle of friends still attend on a weekly basis. The fact that he and Leah still hold a sexual relationship where they act out scenes in front of an audience just blew my mind. However, Leah is ready to move on with her life and by doing so means taking a chance a dating and no more visits to her ex-husband’s club.
The thrill I got by reading this book made me anxious and excited. Gavin’s goal to win back the love and affection of Leah was almost too late, but seeking out the help of a therapist helped him understand the reasoning behind his ex leaving him, and how to go about taking steps to resolve the relationship they once had. What made this book even more special and fun were the weekly D&D get togethers at Gavin’s house. I envied how much time this group spent together all around and how all the women backed and supported one another.
I have never rooted for a couple as much as I rooted for Gavin and Leah. Even years of divorce could not kill the undying love these two had for each other. Getting through all the issues that once tore them apart and overcoming their own self stubbornness brought them so much peace. The chemistry between these two made me emotional, yet apathetic towards their feelings for one another. Even through years of separation, you could still feel the love Gavin and Leah have for one another.
This has been one of my favorite reads of the month and am looking forward to Jax and Esther’s story.

I absolutely love reading about middle-age characters. This author does to perfection. Gavin and Leah are exes trying to make another go of it, while they are at it they even explore their kinkier side. Can this mature couple make it work the second time around?

Wonderful book about two older people & BDSM
This is a wonderful book with two older people who reunite after being divorced for a lot of years. They go to couples counseling which I thought was wonderful and it is a really good part of the story. There is also a BDSM club and there is some action at the club which I thought was great. In the story there is some D&D gaming going on as well and thought that was entertaining as well. I really enjoyed this story and was entirely absorbed by it as it is so very good.

What’s wonderful start to a great series. I like that both Leah and Gavin are older and they got a divorce and now Gavin wants a second chance. He going to therapy which he would not do in the beginning. Now he has convince Leah to give him a second chance. Enjoy this wonderful sexy hot book.

As a 40+ years old woman, it's not often that I find books where the main characters are in my age group.
Golden Angel's new series "Dungeons & Doms" is about three couples, all in their late 40s & early 50s. It is amazing to read about people my age that still manage to fall in love and find their HEA. The 1st book in the series "Dungeon Master" tells the story of Gavin & Leah (Mitch of "Bondage Buddies" parents). Even though they have been divorced for over 10 years, Gavin & Leah can't stay apart, they are still Dom & Sub and scene together at Gavin's BDSM club. But just as Leah decides that it is time to go back to the dating scene, Gavin comes to realise, that he still loves her and is willing to make changes in order to win her back. Leah finds it hard to trust him after being disappointed by him so many times in the past, but Gavin is willing to do what it takes to prove to her that he had changed.
Leah & Gavin are both very likable characters. I loved Gavin's willingness to show vulnerability, he is a very proud man, and it doesn't come easy. I could easily understand Leah being hesitant to to trust him again with her heart, considering how much he hurt her in the past. Golden Angel managed to portrait in her writing characters that are not perfect, they are flawed human beings just like you & me and it makes it easy for to relate to them. 4.5 Stars for Dungeon Master (Dungeons and Doms #1)
I can’t believe this is the first book I have read by Golden Angel, well that’s about to change because I was excited and captivated by Gavin and Leah’s second chance at love. It was a breath of fresh air reading about an older couple enjoying life to the fullest.
Gavin is a Dungeon Master and truth be told he has never really gotten over his ex wife, Leah so they still continue to scene together at the club. They still enjoy these moments together and the chemistry is obviously still there but can Gavin convince Leah they both deserve a second chance at love ....
It’s going to take a lot of persuasion to get Leah to drop the walls she has built around herself and it’s going to take some soul searching moments for this couple to come to terms with the past to enable them to built a future. As I said early it’s hard to understand why this is my first read by this very talented author because this book has it all, it’s full of love and passion with a couple you can relate to, so I guess all that’s left for me to say is I highly recommend this steamy romance.

Hot. HOT. HOT Silver Fox and a second chance at love!
I have been looking forward to this book after reading Bondage Buddies, and meeting Gavin in that book. Gavin and Leah are Mitchell’s parents. I really liked the perspective of Mitch’s relationship and split, I was anxious to read their story.
Gavin the owner of a nightclub, bar, and sex club has his sights set on Leah. His ex-wife. The pair had been active in the BDSM community for a long time…while they have amazing sexual chemistry it was other parts of their relationship that ultimately led to its end. While Gavin and Leah have continued to scene together at the club since their divorce that is where their relationship was left at the club. After many years apart Gavin realizes that he need to work on somethings and and wants Leah back in his life outside of the club. Leah on the other hand has realized that she is ready to move on to and start dating.
From the get go I was rooting for Gavin and Leah to reconnect. It was clear as a reader that the pair had a serious connection and at one time a solid relationship. It felt to me that Gavin and Leah’s past relationship issues are very common in marriages and long term relationships….they struggled with communicating. The irony is that the BDSM relationship relies so heavily on communicating, I also appreciated how Angel really allowed Gavin to open up with the help of a therapist. Something else that I also really appreciated was that Gavin and Leah were not “young” by romance book standards. They had lived, had long term relationships and are established adults that also live in the BDSM community. The couple also had a great group of very supportive friends that I became quickly attached to and want their stories!
If you are looking for a steamy book with a couple rekindling their relationship I highly recommend this series. I have yet to find a book by Golden Angel that I wouldn’t recommend!

Seasoned Romance
This book gets an extra star because it's about a mature (read that "older" ) couple. I like seasoned romance, I like second chance romance, and I like couples reconnecting, especially married couples. I did find Gavin and Leah's initial relationship odd.They've been divorced for ten years, but they still socialize weekly with the same small group of friends, they still have sex regularly and exclusively, the only thing they don't do is live together. And why now, why after ten years does Leah suddenly decide that it's time to move on? Why does Gavin decide that he wants to revisit what they have? I would have found it more realistic if the interim relationship was for a shorter period of time, I think one of them would have either moved on or tried to reconcile before now. The other issue was when Gavin said that they'd keep their "relationship" to the club, when what they were working on outside the club was their relationship, what they had inside the club was just sex---not the same thing at all. And lastly, it needed a little more editing and proofreading--not enough to be terrible, but enough to interrupt the flow of the story in spots.

I enjoyed reading this story of Gavin and Leah. Both in their later years (50+), they know the value of trust in a relationship. Too bad that same trust wasn't followed through in their married life. Despite their divorce, they continued to scene together and meet weekly with friends for their supper/games night. But when Gavin realizes just how much he wants Leah back, his determination to have more than a no-strings relationship is challenged by her new date. Can he prove to her that he has changed? Can he show her the emotions lacked during their marriage? Will she recognize that the errors made have two sides to the story?

I love this story shows you how relationships have many changes due to battles no matter how small can break down a relationship. Struggling to take time to work with each other to understand, the give and take. This is a refreshing change from other BDSM books since it focused on an older couple, sex doesn't end at 50, 60 or even 70. Maybe people need to remember that.
This book included many familiar faces and we get to meet some amazing characters. Can't wait to see where the next one takes us.

It's nice reading a book about an older couple. It's even nicer reading about their more kinker side. There was nothing over dramatic in this book. Its just two ex's trying for their second chance with each other. This book wasn't perfect but it was nice knowing that even as we get older we can still adventure on the wild side, aches and pains not withstanding.

This story plot was masterfully done in my opinion. I really do love reading about characters of all ages, but this one was nearer to my heart as it was nearer to my age! I appreciated the fact that Ms. Golden is embracing diversity!
I also love second chance romances! I was rooting for Gavin to win Leah back!
Never to disappoint, we get the steamy, kinky scenes too!

This was a great book 1 of this series I loved that Gavin and Leah are a older couple in the bdsm scene ....I loved this story and it has a lot of steamy parts too .... cant wait for Sept to read book 2
