Lauren Butterworth
Lauren Butterworth is a Creative Writing postgraduate student currently awaiting examination of her PhD thesis. Her practice led research explores feminist revisionist approaches to overcoming gender binaries and subverting cultural myths of the feminine through a creative product and accompanying critical exegesis. The thesis considers my own work alongside Michèle Roberts, and examines revisionist approaches to Gothic space, feminine time, the body and cultural archetypes.
She teaches literary studies, creative writing, and academic skills. She is former director of Speakeasy, an undergraduate creative writing showcase at Flinders University, and founding member of The Hearth Collective, an event with a focus on bringing together creative readings with intelligent reflection on practice in Adelaide. She has had creative work published in Wet Ink, Libertine and Indaily.
