I painted over the old square tiles to make it appear we have a blue patterned tile lay. I think this was probably the least expensive, and most impactful DIY I’ve done in our home. The materials I used were primer, flat latex paint, and several coats of Varathane. My joints hurt after spending hours on the hard floors, but it was worth it.
