INSTRUCTIVO PARA DESARROLLAR LAS ACTIVIDADES
CORRESPONDIENTES AL UNIDAD 1
(TECNOLOGÍA EN REGENCIA DE FARMACIA)

UNIDAD 1: GREAT PEOPLE AND TALES (TO BE PAST, REGULAR AND


IRREGULAR VERBS, SIMPLE PAST- PAST PROGRESSIVE- WH QUESTIONS)

a) SIMPLE PAST
Tenga presente que en inglés existen los verbos regulares e irregulares. Los
regulares son aquellos que su pasado se forma simplemente agregando ED a su
infinitivo, ejemplo: Like - liked, work - worked, listen - listened, y los irregulares son
aquellos que no siguen ninguna regla, por lo tanto deben ser aprendidos de
memoria.
Recuerde las estructuras para hacer oraciones en pasado:

Con el verbo TO BE (se o estar)

Afirmativa: Sujeto + was / were + complemento


I was a very good student

Negativa: sujeto + wasn´t / weren´t + complement


I wasn´t unfriendly

Preguntas: Was / were + sujeto + + complemento?


Were you a good student?
Yes, I was.
No, I wasn´t.

Si la pregunta es de información, no olvide utilizar las Wh*.


Con verbos diferentes al To Be:

Afirmativa: Sujeto + verbo en pasado + complemento


I danced on christmas.

Negativa: sujeto + didn´t + verbo en presente + complemento


I didn´t dance on Christmas.
Preguntas:
Yes / NO: Did + sujeto + verbo en presente + complemento?
Did you dance on Christmas?
Yes, I did.
No, I didn´t.

Information: Wh* + did + sujeto + verbo?

Where did you study?


I studied in Tunja.

Al final del instructivo encontrará una tabla con los principales verbos irregulares
en inglés. Recuerde que en esta unidad debe utilizar la casilla dos o uno según las
estructuras dadas

Es importante tener en cuenta que para decir cuánto tenía (hablando de edad) se
dice When I was... Ejemplo: When I was eighteen. (Cuando tenía 18 años...)

b) PAST PROGRESSIVE

Form

Exceptions in Spelling

Exceptions in spelling when adding ing Example


final e is dropped (but: ee is not changed) come – coming
(but: agree – agreeing)
after a short, stressed vowel, the final sit – sitting
consonant is doubled
final ie becomes y lie – lying

c) PAST SIMPLE VS PAST PROGRESSIVE

1. Past simple
El "past simple" describe una acción pasada ya finalizada.
When I was young I lived in Madrid (Cuando era joven vivía en Madrid)
 
2. past continuous or past progressive
Indica que una acción se estaba desarrollando en cierto momento
del pasado al cual se hace referencia. No dice si la acción ya finalizó o
todavía continuaba.
• When the mother came home her husband was playing with the kids (cuando la
madre llegó a casa su marido estaba jugando con los niños).

A veces se describen dos acciones simultáneas que tuvieron lugar en el pasado.


En dicho caso, se utiliza el "past simple" para describir aquella que finalizó y
el "past continuous"para aquella otra que estaba ocurriendo cuando la
primera tuvo lugar.
• Yesterday evening when you called me I was having a shower (ayer en la
noche cuando me llamaste, me estaba bañando)
• When the parents arrived home the children were watching TV (cuando los
padres llegaron a casa, los niños estaban mirando Tv).

Grammar : SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Afirmative form.  Subject +verb in past+complement.


He visited his family last week.

They went to Europe last weekend

Negative form: Use the auxiliary did+not  = didn`t

Subject+ didn`t +verb+complement.

He  didn`t visit his family last week.

They didn`go to Europe last weekend.

Interrogative form.

Did +subject+verb in present +complement.

Did you visit his family last weekend?  Yes,I did.

Did he go Europe Last month? No,he didn`t.

b) Write five sentences in simple past and five sentences in negative form.

Affirmative form.
Subject+to be+verb (ing) +complement.

Negative form: wasn`t/weren`t


He wasn`t studying for the final test.
They weren`t playing soccer yesterday
I wasn` working very hard.
