“When the separation of these elements is applied in the method of infinite elements, in order to
study it and know it as a whole, that is, its nature, functions and applications, among other things,
you are proceeding to develop an analysis.”
“All loads, static and transient, that are imposed on a structure, or element of it, during the
operation of the building, without load factors.”
“The weight of the members supported by the structure, and the permanent attachments or
accessories that are probably present in a service structure; or (b) the charges defined as such in
the general construction regulations; No load factors.”
“The load that is not permanently applied to the structure, but which is likely to occur during its
service life (excluding environmental charges); or (b) loads that meet the specific criteria described
in the general construction regulations; No load factors.”
8. Conexión (Connection)
Región de la estructura donde se unen dos o más miembros. Una conexión también se refiere a
una región donde se unen miembros en que uno o más son prefabricados.
“Region of the structure where two or more members join. A connection also refers to a region
where members join in which one or more are prefabricated.”
9. Deflexión (Deflection)
Deformación que sufre un elemento por el efecto de las flexiones internas.
“Ductile material is known as the one that, upon reaching breakage, has suffered large
deformations. This in the calculation of structures interests us because it warns us that the structure
will collapse.”
“Effort is the resistance offered by a unit area (A) of the material from which a member is made
for an external applied load (force, F)”
14. Luz (Span length)
Distancia entre los apoyos.
“Relationship between normal stress and corresponding unit strain, for tensile or compression
stresses less than the limit of proportionality of the material.”
“Frame in which the beams, columns, slabs and knots resist forces predominantly by bending,
shear and axial force; the beams or slabs are predominantly horizontal or almost horizontal and
the columns are predominantly vertical or almost vertical.”
“Resistance is the ability of structural elements to withstand the efforts to which they are subjected
without breaking. It depends on many factors among which the material used, its geometry and
the type of union between the elements stand out.”
“stiffness is the ability of the elements of the structures to withstand efforts without losing their
shape (deforming) while maintaining their joints.”
20. Tenacidad (Toughness)
“Toughness quantifies the total energy of a material until the fracture or notch.”
