This phrase does not seem to be mentioned in the target article. Otherwise, it could be seen as misleading since the three topics in the redirect, Writer, Illustrator, and Publisher, are about topics exclusive from each other, so WP:XY applies. Steel1943 (talk) 23:31, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

- Delete per nom. A redirect like this should only stand if the article it points to discusses the intersection between all listed concepts-- which Comic book does not do, given the concepts also intersect in other places (such as, for example, Visual Novel, or Children's book.) None of these redirects are mentioned in the target article, leaving their connection between the redirects and the target unclear. I'm assuming they are all referring to a similar topic per the "Katha-" prefix and the fact they were all created by the same editor. Seems this topic may be a type of book with affinity with a specific non-English language, so WP:REDYES may apply. Steel1943 (talk) 23:25, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

The current target does not seem correct. In addition, in regards to articles listed at Story, there is no clear winner on which specific subject this redirect should target. In addition, since the disambiguation page Story does not list any element items, retargeting there would most likely be misleading as well. For these reasons, I suggest deleting this redirect. - Keep and definitely donโt retarget to that random book called The Novel. In the literary field, โthe novelโ is the absolutely standard way to say โnovelsโ. It means โthe concept of novels without referring to any one novel specifically.โ For example, I study the novel in England in the late eighteenth century. Iโd never say I study novels of the 18thC, as that would convey that I only care about a few specific books. asilveringโs examples illustrate this too, RS will be called things like โThe history of the novelโ, โBotanical imagery in the novel,โ etc, never โnovelsโ. Because this construction is essentially a standard academic jargon I think it is different from โthe toiletโ. The kind of person who types โthe novelโ expects to end up at Novel โ and there are people who will type it. ~ L ๐ธ (talk) 17:24, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

It is unclear what this redirect is meant to refer. In addition, I looked through Narrative, Narratology, and the current target, and none of the aforementioned articles mention the word "yarn". Either there should be a stub article here to provide a place for more information to be added or this redirect should be deleted. The edit history says that the redirect was created to link to the inspiration for the name of the party. That may be true, but that article (Golden Party Badge) has no mentions of the topic of this one so I think this falls under reason #10 for deletion of a redirect. โย Preceding unsigned comment added by Crendrik (talk โข contribs) 14:53, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'm the one who created the redirect. I looked into creating a stub first, but there's so very little available from reliable sources that I went with the redirect instead. I don't think "#10 If the redirect could plausibly be expanded into an article" applies, as there's next to nothing that I found with a quick search, other than the connection to the Golden Party Badge. I agree that Golden Party Badge should maybe have a mention of this Party in it, but I'm not sure where to insert that. Fred Zepelin (talk) 20:37, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

- Comment: I seem to have forgotten half my argument up there lol. Aron and Golem are not names of individual characters, and in the context of Pokemon serve as the names for entire fictional species. It'd be roughly equivalent to, say, Wookie (Star Wars character). Granted, there are instances of a Pokemon being referred to by the name of their species as if it were a proper name (see, for example, Pikachu#In_the_anime), but I can't think of any notable and noncrufty instances where an Aron or Golem were addressed that way in any game or anime. - Delete. They're a species, not a character. PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:04, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sympathetic to this nomination because it is correct that there is not a character named Aron or Golem; this is a class of creatures just like how a Cow (character) would not be a character, but a species. I'll !vote to delete this in the meantime, but the nominator did not notice that Aron (Pokรฉmon character) exists outside of this nomination, and that Aron (Pokemon character) was automatically created by a bot (and will presumably be once again automatically created) due to missing the diacritic. Because of that, it's misleading to say that these are the only two cases of this. If they were, my thought to delete would be much stronger, but it seems like an updated assessment may be necessary before a deletion-action can be taken. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:18, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
- Golem (Pokemon character) also exists and not included in this nomination. A full list of "Pokemon character" titles can be found at this quarry: [2]. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:32, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
- Most to all of the hits on that quarry (i.e. Red (Pokemon character), Brock (Pokemon character), ect) are indeed individual characters. The only four outliers that describe species instead of characters are Aron (Pokemon character), Aron (Pokรฉmon character), Golem (Pokemon character), and Golem (Pokรฉmon character). I suggest bundling the two missed ones with the two hit ones. - To clarify, the coalition was formed in 1994, but the preceding election was in 1992, and it seems reasonable that someone might associate it with the election year. I'm not familiar with Irish politics so I can't say for sure. --Paul_012 (talk) 11:00, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

- @Paul 012 and Thryduulf: when you say Keep, I think it is understood that you are saying the new target would be 24th Government of Ireland, which is the target of nominated target Rainbow Coalition (Ireland). The nom had merely moved the redirect Rainbow Coalition (Ireland 1992) to a different redirect title Rainbow Coalition (Ireland), just before making this nomination. 24th Government of Ireland is of '94, NOT '92, and I'm not sure if the election year of '92 is what you were going with. Jay ๐ฌ 16:26, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- My intention was for 24th Government of Ireland as the target, as an avoided double redirect. The election article is a reasonable alternative, but my primary preference is still for the (1994) 24th government article, for consistency. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:56, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Retarget to Wilmington massacre, as that is where the most information about this school can be found. The current target article does not mention "Parsley Elementary", so readers who go there will not find any explanation about what they are seeking. A school by that name was founded in 2001, and the current redirect was created as an article about that school in 2008. The article was WP:PRODded on 6 June 2011 (by Neutrality). A mention of the school was added to the Wilmington, North Carolina, article on 13 June 2011 (by Just Chilling, who has not edited Wikipedia since 25 July 2019), who also converted the school article to a redirect on the same day. The mention in that article was replaced with "Masonboro Elementary" on 23 November 2021 (by Onyxqk, with no edit summary). The change corresponds to a change of the name of the school made at around that time. There is much more of discussion of "Parsley Elementary" in the Wilmington massacre article, which contains a discussion of why the name of the school was selected in 2000 and why the name was then changed 20 years later. Additionally, I plan to restore a mention of the school's former name in the article about Wilmington, North Carolina. The school was renamed only a few years ago, so it is reasonable for people to be looking for information about a school with that name in that article. โโ โโ BarrelProof (talk) 21:05, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

As it stands currently (edit: thanks to the nom), the name 'Walter L. Parsley Elementary' does show up in the article, as the listing for Masonboro reads "Masonboro (formerly called Walter L. - Retarget to Wilmington, North Carolina#Elementary schools as that seems to be a logical expectation of an end user if they are searching on this phrase. Assuming that is correct, then the only target that might meet WP:FORRED would be an Estonian newspaper named "Koit" (or a list of them if there are multiple). List of newspapers in Estonia tells me there is exactly one, Koit (newspaper). That title redirects to Pรตlva County#Culture where there are two short sentences ("1951โ2019, the county has its newspaper: Koit. The last chief editor (since 2000) was Kauno Kรตima." This is nowhere near enough to make this a useful search term on the English Wikipedia, especially considering et:Koit (ajaleht) is significantly more comprehensive and the redirect with the English disambiguator exists. Diana [Princess of Wales] is criticised by the organisation as a "fag enabler"
. That's just one quote from the middle of a paragraph containing several others, including the unquestionably more notable "God hates fags", so I don't think it would make a good redirect target. There was previously an article at Fag enabler, but that was speedily deleted as an attack page partway through an AfD, the content was entirely unsourced and consisted of a definition and a list of 5 people (all American religious figures) who allegedly met that definition. The AfD nominator stated they "Can't find any sources discussing the importance of the phrase itself - the only references I find are in relation to WBC's campaign", 13 and a half years later that still seems to be true. - holy fuckeroni
- time for some notes from further research (totally not bulbapedia)
- with the exception of caitlin, the unova elite four is missing from the list, and also the anime (i'm not counting cameos in gotcha)
- there are two drakes. one is a hoenn elite four member, the other is an orange league gym leader, making the latter the true real drake from the anime
- glacia wasn't in the anime, apparently. i actually think this one could be a disambiguation like glacia, as that's also glaceon's japanese name, and that one is an actual pokรฉmon, so it should logically have the (pokรฉmon) redirect... right?
- for the subway bosses (really not sure why gen 5 loves them so much), ingo is kind of juggled between gen 5 media and legends: arkoos, so i don't know what to do with him
- for all the others, retarget them for now, but still don't be surprised if they end up back here if that list is ever cleaned up cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 13:52, 6 March 2024 (UTC)

- Delete Subway Bosses. Several video games have bosses in subways, in addition to the term in Pokรฉmon apparently being more precise that "subway bosses". (No opinion on the others, but that one was really odd.) Steel1943 (talk) 19:33, 16 March 2024 (UTC)

A redirect recently created at WP:AFC/R. This having a different target than Chilli dog may be confusing. While it might be expectable for Wikipedians that the "(dog)" indicates a modifier to the rest of the search term, I don't think this is necessarily an automatic assumption. And even if it was, Chilli is a real food item that can be served in a "dog variety" (i.e. as a chilli dog). I feel like there are several search terms that can be used to more-reliably reach the Bluey character, but something as vague as "dog" when hot dogs exist might not be that likely. - Keep. This is not a reasonable search term for anything other than a dog named "Chilli", and the target is the only content we have about such. A chilli dog is not a dog. Thryduulf (talk) 12:47, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
Keep per ThryduulfRetarget per Slgrandson. As Thryduulf said, a chilli dog is not a dog. (Note that I accepted the WP:AFC/R request) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:15, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Keep per Thryduulf and Eejit43.Retarget as per Slgrandson. The WP:SMALLDETAILS are important here-- the parentheses around 'dog' means that 'dog' is a disambiguation, not part of the name of what this redirect is about. This title refers to something named or called Chilli, which is a dog-- not to a "chili dog", which is not a dog. Lunamann ๐๐๐ The Moooooooniest (talk) 14:12, 4 March 2024 (UTC)- Comment: I don't have a particular opinion on this one, but I guess I would ask if we honestly think many people might search on "Chilli (dog)". Do we have any data or way to see if people are doing that? (I guess I just don't personally think about searching Wikipedia that way, but I'm just one person.) - Dyork (talk) 14:15, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- This redirect is too new to have any meaningful usage data (the first few days of a page's existence always get more views than typical, presumably from new page patrollers, and being listed at RFD also always generates views), but the "name of subject (type of thing)" pattern of search terms is extremely plausible given that it's how many Wikipedia articles are named. For example Sylvester (cat) (which redirects to Sylvester the Cat) got 43 views last month and Pluto (dog) (โ Pluto (Disney)) got 83. Thryduulf (talk) 14:36, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

A redirect recently created at WP:AFC/R. There are several examples at Bingo for different dogs with this name, but it's not entirely clear whether this is the primary topic, especially given that many of the characters from Bluey are puns on pre-existing dog varieties. Utopes (talk / cont) 02:49, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: What about the dog in Bingo (folk song)? Also, the redirect creation is requested by me. 176.33.244.31 (talk) 07:18, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to Bingo as a {{R from incomplete disambiguation}}. Thryduulf (talk) 12:48, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to Bingo, there are definitely more characters other than the Bluey character. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 13:13, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Delete (or Retarget). Given that this was apparently just recently created, I would suggest delete as it may not have much usage or help anyone out. If people really want to keep it, then the retarget to Bingo seems the most logical. - Dyork (talk) 14:11, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Even if this weren't a very plausible search term (it is) it would be entirely harmless (when regargetted) so I'm see no justification for deletion. Thryduulf (talk) 14:49, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Disambiguate. We have four articles that this could apply to - Bingo Heeler, Bingo (Puppy Dog Pals), Bingo (1991 film) and Bingo (folk song) - so a separate dab page is a possible solution, rather than readers having to look for the article they want on the full Bingo dab page. Tevildo (talk) 20:44, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to existing Bingo DAB. I don't particularly see a reason to break off an entirely separate DAB page specifically for dogs named Bingo, given the page already is well organized enough and has few enough results that it shouldn't be too hard to find all four of the proposed entries to the new DAB.
