Per WP:SOFTREDIRECT, Soft redirects to non-English language editions of Wikipedia should be avoided because they are generally unhelpful to English-language readers. Jalen Folf (talk) 16:16, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the (entirely unreferenced) target article, and I couldn't confirm that this exists in the real world using a cursory Google search. Joy [shallot] (talk) 13:47, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This redirect also exists on the Portuguese Wikipedia, where the target Sacomar begins "Sacomar, também grafada como Saco-Mar e Savo-Mar" which Google translate renders as "Sacomar, also spelled Saco-Mar and Savo-Mar", cited to [1]. That's now a 404 but the Internet Archive has a copy which verifies the "Saco-Mar" spelling but not "Savo-Mar". The only other place I can find this spelling, other than usernames, OCR errors/collocations (usually something called or abbreviated "Savo" followed by the abbreviation for "March") and derivatives of this redirect is the where it is the article title. I note no affinity between Angola and the Malay language. Thryduulf (talk) 14:15, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This seems a rather implausible misspelling, and I don't think I'm alone in thinking that - in 2011 an IP editor left a note on the talk page saying "I propose the deletion of this page!". Thryduulf (talk) 11:55, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unused template redirect and while not a horribly implausible typo if it were in article space, it seems less useful in template space especially as it is unused. TartarTorte 19:43, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 12:42, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RDELETE reasons 2 and 10. The redirect is confusing since Belly Squad and Young T & Bugsey are different groups with unclear relation. The redirect can plausibly be expanded into an article and the target article contains virtually no information on the subject. Muhandes (talk) 09:08, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not an intuitive target. Should either be Template:R from alternative name or deleted as overspecific. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 09:21, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: For what it's worth, this redirect currently has no transclusions, so deleting or retargeting shouldn't break anything. Steel1943 (talk) 13:34, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Retarget to Template:R from alternative name, as the most appropriate target. I have to agree that the current arrangement does not make sense, as code names are not "former names", but merely more obscure names generally referring to a military operation. Furthermore, I see that the similar redirects Template:R from code name and Template:R codename currently point to Template:R from code and Template:R from former name, respectively. These should also be changed and point to my proposed target. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 16:03, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Delete all per TartarTorte. I'm convinced by the argument that these redirects are ambiguous, as code names are not necessarily former (or obsolete) names. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 12:59, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Both of those bundled. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 18:44, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: The target is in my view ambiguous as a codename can be a former name (for example, Microsoft Vista was referred to by the codename of Longhorn, but since the announcement of the name Vista, Longhorn had become obsolete enough to become a former name; however, there are also other codenames, like "Operation Iraqi Freedom", which is still used to refer to the Iraq War enough that it works more as an alternative name. In summary, this is essentially an WP:XY. TartarTorte 12:47, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per TartarTorte who has explained with examples why the current target as well as suggested targets are not suitable. Jay 💬 09:26, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was no consensus. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 09:47, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article, leaving readers without finding any information about these topics. However, Monster Thickburger is a {{R with history}}. Steel1943 (talk) 16:10, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"The (original) 'Monster Burger' was one of our most popular menu items," Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing for Hardee's, said in a statement. "(But) it's now a 'Thickburger.'"
