- I really doubt the uploader owns the copyright for this. Eeekster (talk) 00:13, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The uploader does not own the copyright. He probably created the scan, and thought that was what was required. However, it was clearly published (as an ad) in 1939, and there is no prominent copyright notice. As such, I'm tagging it
{{PD-Pre1978}}
and I think we can keep it. – Quadell (talk) 12:29, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- The author of this photograph has accredited it under Creative Commons. It is allowed to be shared (to copy, distribute and transmit the work) or to be remixed (to adapt the work) under the following conditions:
- Attribution — must be attributed in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
- Noncommercial — may not be used for commercial purposes.
- All of these criteria has fit. Ls883 (talk) 01:27, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- "Noncommercial" is not free enough for Wikipedia. See WP:NONCOM. —Bkell (talk) 15:03, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Unfortunately, this is clearly not free. Is it a candidate for speedy deletion? – Quadell (talk) 12:30, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I worked on the project at NASA Ames. I pulled the image out of my backup snapshot of http://img.arc.nasa.gov. If you are concerned about the image, you can contact Red Whittaker at CMU who was the CMU side project PI. --Goatbar (talk) 12:09, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- According to the source page, this map comes from "the limited edition CD-Rom that came with the first US Paperback edition" of a book. It is unlikely the uploader holds the copyright as claimed. —Bkell (talk) 15:08, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Poc1.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- The uploader also uploaded this image under a different name where he/she wanted to use it under a claim of fair use. As it obviously doesn't meet our fair use policy, the user then uploaded it here under our patented "invent a fictional license" program. The claim of authorship is dubious. - Unauthorised derivative work, picture of a Mini-Z model car, PD-self claim is probably invalid. While the link provided in the desc is now dead, it implies that it was copied from another website. Acather96 (talk) 17:22, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Uploader claims to be the copyright holder. The subject of the photo died in 1980 and the uploader self-identifies as a university student. The claim seems dubious. B (talk) 17:40, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Previous version suggest that this is a promotional/press photo of some sort. No metadata. Likely copyrighted. No reason given to suggest that uploader is copyright holder. -FASTILY (TALK) 18:29, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- The description page claims that PD permission is given at the source website's disclaimer. That disclaimer http://www.eyedesignbook.com/eyedisclaimer.html currently says no such thing and, in fact, says that in some cases they make use of third party resources without permission, so they may not even be the author of this diagram. - File:Alvin headshot 3.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- The fact that the description says "Self-Portrait," that the image looks like it was taken professionally, and that the only EXIF data is from Photoshop makes me suspicious that this is a copyright violation. Logan Talk Contributions 23:31, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Note that the uploader had previously uploaded File:Alvinlee2.jpg and said that it had been taken from Mr. Lee's Facebook page. So I concur that this is likely to be a copyright violation. —Bkell (talk) 14:30, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
