No, because the source is this image that the uploader created, not the official logo, per se (I've seen enough people who created a logos/image for their organizations in their own free time...including myself). Furthermore, it was released under a GFDL license. This is the official logo made by its creator. The other one is derived from that original creation. It was discussed at de:Wikipedia:Löschkandidaten/Bilder/22._Mai_2006#Bild:Coburg-1915.jpg. In Germany it would only be PD if the photographer died in 1939 or earlier (70 years after death), but in the U.S. it would be PD if it was first published before 1923. Its name suggests it was first published in 1915, in which case we can keep it here... but can anyone confirm that this is actually from 1915? Since it was deleted on de.wiki, I can't see the original image description there... Is anyone here an administrator on de.wiki? This is a still of an actor as he appeared in a role which doesn't seem to meet WP:NFC. It isn't necessary to see the actor (who is a living person) to understand the subject of the article, and there is nothing striking about the actor's appearance or presentation that merits discussion in the text. I believe it fails point 8, "significance," as "Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding." Keep It's a screeshot of a fictional character in a article about the fictional character. Going by Moonriddengirl's argument, no image of any TV or film character, or indeed anything containing a human being who does not have a "striking" appearance, would ever be necessary. Better go and tag Superman's image for deletion. How about Han Solo? Harrison Ford is still alive, after all. It satisfies 8, an entirely subjective rule anyway.         It was a biased post to a partisan audience, though limited in scale. It may not have been your intent to invite a participant to this debate who had already been swayed to your point of view, but the problem with making such posts before the person has a chance to come of their own accord is that it contaminates the debate and brings their neutral reception of arguments into question. I felt it was necessary to point out that concern to be sure the matter gets a fair hearing. At issue here, obviously, is whether this use is within WP:NFC.   - I disagree. A picture of Rob James-Collier isn't a picture of Liam Connor. They might look the same, then again they might not, as I've never seen James-Collier out of character.     - Indeed, a picture of the actor (a human being) is not a replacement for a picture of the character as played by an actor. I know, they look a lot alike, but you get into trouble trying to discern when they're equivalent and when they're not: artistic distinctions about when an actor is in character and whatnot. - Indeed. Interesting that you have shown up. Your accusations of canvassing are just a political game in this case, used to win your argument. I discussed a topic with AnemoneProjectors; search his talk archives, I have spoken with him regularly over the years. I think it's unsavoury the way an innocent conversation between two editors about my frustration with yet another set of users - twisting the meaning of policy to satisfy their own views - has been turned into a political game. I have not asked anyone to vote. If I wanted to campaign, dont you think I could notify every member of all the soap wiki-projects about this FFD? I havent even listed the FFD in categories for deletion in the wikiprojects! Comment The actor/character is styled for the role. I might be able to take a random picture of the actor driving around in his Porsche with his hair slicked back, in ray bans, or wearing a tuxedo at a film premiere, but that's not exactly a factual representation of the working-class character he's meant to portray. Not to mention the actor ages. Would it be appropriate to use an image of the actor when he no longer looks like the character he played? Maybe his hair has altered since he left. He could have a nose ring. It would be ridiculous to suggest that you could use an image of Harrison Ford in his late 60s to portray Han solo from 32 years ago.
