The result of the discussion was: rename. – Fayenatic London 16:09, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Rename. Consistency with all other sub-categories of Category:National sports teams and with the names of all the articles contained within it (i.e. Australia national rugby league team not Australia international rugby league team). Gibson Flying V (talk) 22:56, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support this is a national team category, not one for teams of people with different nationalities (as the name currently suggests). SFB 18:13, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. Good Ol’factory (talk) 05:10, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: We don't usually categorize a place (or anything else for that matter) by characteristics of its name. This is the only "Places named after..." category. This could be listified. Note: This category currently has no parent categories. An example of a previous CFD for similar categories is Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_February_7#Places_named_for_Presidents_of_the_United_States_and_subcategories. The result of the discussion was: rename as Category:Alumni of Bandaranayake College per speedy criterion WP:C2C and article Bandaranayake College. – Fayenatic London 16:16, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Badly named category (if kept it needs a space after the comma) with (currently) just one article and no parent categories. DexDor (talk) 21:45, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: speedy merge to Category:Business conferences. – Fayenatic London 10:43, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category has one article, no parent categories and is misnamed (singular rather than plural). DexDor (talk) 21:40, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. I have listed the two members at American Guild of Variety Artists#Georgie Award. – Fayenatic London 16:27, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: We generally consider award recipients categories to be overcategorization (see WP:OC#AWARD). This category currently has one article for a recipient (and has no parent categories). DexDor (talk) 21:36, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. The current contents are not all "world music", but I can't see that a purge would give a worthwhile result. – Fayenatic London 15:51, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Content of cat 1 is suitable for cat 2. Albums, compositions and musicians by language can be emphasized by sorting them at the top of the category. 068129201223129O9598127 (talk) 18:11, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: merge. – Fayenatic London 16:36, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Merge. The International Programmes and External System are not separate institutions. The UoL renamed the External System to International Programmes to reflect the international nature of the external/distance learning student body. Even students in the UK are counted as International Progammes students. JJARichardson (talk) 17:27, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: rename. – Fayenatic London 16:03, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: To follow the consensus within other articles at Category:Former organized territories of the United States where the 'the' has been removed. Ricky81682 (talk) 07:50, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, and there has been a discussion on some of these. In at least one case the comment was that both were valid so rename to remove the 'the'. So it is far from clear that this change has universal support, is needed or is correct. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:17, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename When we have a sentence "Oregon Territory existed from 1848 to 1859." It shows that generally "the" is not a needed article in front of the name.John Pack Lambert (talk) 22:30, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename. I'm not as familiar with writings on this territory as I am with Utah Territory and some others, but it's my sense that per common usage, "the" may be—but is just as often not—used before the names of historical U.S. territories. Most of the categories for other territories do not include the "the", so I support removing it in this case, because it makes sense to me to have a standard which is applied in the same way for U.S. territory categories. (I'm open to more information if a user can demonstrate that the "the" is used in an overwhelming majority of cases in which this particular territory is referred to in reliable sources.) The result of the discussion was: keep. – Fayenatic London 15:46, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: This category contains just one article (that is in other categories) and has no parent categories - thus it's no use for navigation. DexDor (talk) 05:33, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This now has a parent category and one more article and a redirect.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 08:21, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
