The Turbot War was a 1995 militarized interstate dispute between Canada and the European Union over fishing rights in the Northwest Atlantic.
Background
[edit]The 1995 conflict between Canada and Spain grew out of a larger dispute between Canada and distant water fishing states over conservation and fisheries management.[1]
