ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for James Smart (police officer)

[edit]

On 2 December 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article James Smart (police officer), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Chief Constable James Smart flooded police courts with over 17,000 cases to prove how impractical it was for home owners to light their own stairs? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/James Smart (police officer). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, James Smart (police officer)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

There is a mop reserved in your name

[edit]
You are a remarkable editor in many ways. You would be a good administrator, in my opinion, and appear to be well qualified. You personify an administrator without tools and have gained my support already!

@Sahaib Just received your thanks. You're welcome! waiting for the endorsers to clog your talk page now! Maliner (talk) 18:45, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Article rename

[edit]

Hello, you recently moved St Johns Shopping Centre to St John's Shopping Centre, Liverpool. Please can you indicate where the punctuation has come from? It isn't present on official name or branding. The Liverpool variant is the only one, that I can see, using that name styling specifically and therefore, i'd have thought holding the parent title would be sufficient, or at least, an WP:RM would have been advisable. Bungle (talkcontribs) 18:36, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Bungle: consistency with the commons category, St John's Shopping Centre, Perth and St John's Market. I have moved it back. Sahaib (talk) 18:59, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The commons category is also wrong, however this merely picked up the erroneous naming format of the time. The commons cat could/should perhaps just be renamed also. You didn't respond to the WP:RM suggestion, although I am on the fence whether it's worth pursuing, but i'd have thought it perhaps should have been considered initially. [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of McMaster University people, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ajax. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:57, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
