Reverted your revision [1] to User_talk:Mono
I did not create the article. Your script goofed up. :) ℳono 22:17, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, the template messed up; before I used the script, it said on the submission template that you created it (which seemed odd...). Sorry about that. :) ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 22:18, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

I believe your recommendation in this MfD may have been based on a misleading comment in the nomination. Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. RateSetter
Can you tell me why the creation of the article (RateSetter) has been declined please? Thanks.Lucy2010! (talk) 19:13, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- The nomination for the article was placed on hold a while ago, and you made no changes to the article. With the Articles for Creation process, if no edits are made to a submission on hold after 24 hours, then the request is declined. The comment that the person who put it on hold left was this: "Notability concerns and the fact that 1 event does not make something notable." If you want to still work on it, you can, making sure to address what that person wrote, and just re-add the submission template when you think it is ready. I hope this helps. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 19:20, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi
Hi Hi, Would you mind taking on the responsibility of moving proposals to the appropriate section/archiving them once a week or so? I know it's a pretty hefty task, but it's taking up so much of my time I've allotted to the TCG that I'm not getting many illustrations done very often. Thanks a ton. Bob!
Within the next two weeks, I am going to try and return fully; I'm not going to start doing everything again all at once; I'll ease into it. Anyways, I am sure that quite a bit of stiff has happened with the project in my absence, so would you mind just summarizing everything that has happened that I might want to know about? Also, any particular jobs that you don't have time for that you would like me to take back should be included in this little summary-thing. I'm not saying that I will be able to take any of these little jobs, but I want to know what they are for when I decide. Anyhoo, I'm eager to get going again; I've missed this! ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 02:57, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sure! Soon as I finish up this scientific paper and presentation for tomorrow night on a common mediator of insulin resistance, inflammation, and coagulation. It's a rather painful topic to research and write about, and I've only got this evening left to work on it. So...tomorrow night, I'll update you on the state of the project, and tonight I'll throw archival/approval back at you.
- While it's on my mind, though, I might as well inform you about a few important things:
- Per the request of Canvas, the proposals page has been divvied up into several pages (I'd suggest you add each one to your watchlist).
- There are multiple unresolved discussions on the rules page, including one new proposal.
- At WT:TCG I've linked to a request for revision to an already-approved card.
- That's all that comes to mind at the moment; you've certainly got some catching up to do whenever you do find time. Hope whatever has been pulling you away from Wikipedia is all good now . God bless, and talk to you later! Bob the WikipediaN (talk • contribs) 03:47, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! I shall eagerly await more information. By the way, in the editnotice that you added, you really should use a different image; it looks strange, using one once and another twice. :) ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 22:44, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- Which editnotice? Also-- I'll give you the update soon as I finish my post-presentation crash nap. Bob the WikipediaN (talk • contribs) 00:05, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- On the "Individual Card Proposals" page. There are three; I added the first two, and you added the third. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 00:49, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- So to sum things up, Canvas had an issue where the proposal page was crashing his computer. I transcluded them as separate pages (you better add all of them to your watchlist), but he still has some issues. I told him the only way we can really do anything about it in that case is to stop proposing so many cards and work on finishing the proposals that are already queued, which is far past 100. Mainly, we're needing quotes right now. Lots of quotes. I see you've responded on the rules page. EWikist hasn't been around all month; not sure why he's not been editing recently, but he's been the only one able to illustrate as of late (I am too busy with classes). I did take care of a lot of updating the proposals by moving them up where appropriate, but I'm not sure I ever finished with it. This is more evidence that cards are being proposed quicker than we can handle.
- We still haven't resolved the issue of you not liking the no-ability article card format.
- I....think that's it. Welcome back! Bob the WikipediaN (talk • contribs) 15:26, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, and whoops! Sorry, I should have posted that as a discussion topic rather than commenting it out. My mistake! Bob the WikipediaN (talk • contribs) 15:29, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! This is helpful. Now, I need to as a favor. If I am not back to editing by the end of next week, e-mail me! And, if you like some of them but you think they are not good enough for being approved because of the set of links used and etcetera, please, try to improve them where and if it is possible. At this rate, I fear that we will see the end of the project. Thanks in advance.
I have also added a special nomination for this Sunday, 1st of May (International Workers' Day or May Day). Please, take a look at it if you can.
All the best. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 15:01, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
P.S.: I'm sorry to bother you again, but take a look at this if you can. Once again, thank you. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 18:26, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I'm here again to bother you (again and again... sorry). Things seem to go much better at MOTD, right now. THANK YOU!!!
The reason why I'm writing you is the following: next Sunday (8th of May) is Mother's Day. I know that it is celebrated on different days around the world, but I'd love if we could (and are able to) make our "very-little" contribution in honour of all the mothers in the world. For the upcoming 8th of May (Sunday) there is already a motto in schedule, but I think that we can move the motto approved for that day to another date and to put one about mothers in place of it. Here is my nomination.
Thank you in advance and all the best! –pjoef (talk • contribs) 12:52, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
MOTD Barnstar for helping to keep our project "alive"
The MOTD Barnstar | ||
I award the MOTD Barnstar to Hi878 for helping to keep our project "alive" during this difficult time. Without you and your so precious help and contributions, we all probably would have seen the end of this project. A BIG THANK YOU!!! –pjoef (talk • contribs) 19:40, 3 May 2011 (UTC) |
A brief note, please, read it carefully, especially the last part in bold: The last time we (our project) gave awards to our (its) members on last Summer, then the number of new nominations and reviews of the existing nominations has been diminishing. The end result was the "April crisis" with no mottos for about an entire week. On the contrary, I hope this award will help to maintain our level high or, at least, appropriate to its needs, the needs of our project. I think that around 10 minutes a week to "devote" to the project, when it is possible of course, should be more than enough to achieve the desired result.
Of course, I gave you this award personally, in a personal way and not in the name of the project. This is just a way to say a BIG thank you, so, refrain from returning the award to me or I would be overwhelmed by stars and banners and it is not my intention to "profit" on this, really! Please, do NOT return the award! And, there is no need to thank me, it was my pleasure.
Thanks again (I think I can speak for all the contributors to MOTD) and all the very best!!! –pjoef (talk • contribs) 19:40, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for the barnstar, but please! Stop giving me them! This is my fourth MotD barnstar, and I feel akward having this many of them sitting on my awards page! I don't want to seem ungrateful, but I'm sure you can see why having over half of my awards being MotD ones would bother me somewhat. But please, don't take this as me feeling ungrateful! I still do thank you for it. :) ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 01:29, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- (^_____^) There is a reason why you have received so many MOTD barnastars, and the reason is that you are doing a really great job at MOTD. Don't stop working for MOTD and (probably... probably yes... or probably no :D) I will not give you more MOTD barnstars (but other Wikipedia awards :D)! And as I've said before, we need to try to push the proposals through faster...more and more proposals keep piling up! Department of Fun in the Signpost
"WikiProject Report" would like to focus on the Department of Fun for a Signpost article. This is an excellent opportunity to draw attention to your efforts and attract new members to the Department. Would you be willing to participate in an interview? If so, here are the questions for the interview. Just add your response below each question and feel free to skip any questions that you don't feel comfortable answering. Re edit to MoTD page
My work has invaded your talk page :P
And also inserting
javascript:importScript('User:Hi878/motdtools.js'); reopennom();
will not reopen a nomination - I only picked a random function so that the buttons would come up. If you try
javascript:importScript('User:Hi878/motdtools.js');
then you get an error, so reopennom is a 'dummy function', or something. --The Σ talkcontribs 23:57, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

I apologize if this sounds mechanical, I'm not good at apologies. Please don't feel sorry. It was okay to say what you did, I just hadn't realized how such a scoreboard thing could be construed. Of course I won't make another scoreboard like that if you don't want me to (in this situation... I have made ticker things on other sites, but that's different). MOTD Motto Shop
Hi, Hi878! I'm not sure if you remember me, but I was the creator of the MOTD Motto Shop. I retired for 3 months and I couldn't handle being away from Wikipedia, seeing how successful the Signpost and the Motto Shop and all my WikiProjects were doing, so I decided to come back. Now, I have every intention to become a personal motto creator again, Hi878, so could you explain all of the instructions to me? And please, can you not hog all of the motto requests this time around? Thanks so much! Warm regards, Belugaboycup of tea? 12:34, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not hogging them, I wait a while before taking them, but nobody else is watching that page. :) I'm the only one. Have you seen where I wrote the instructions? I would like to think that I did a good job of describing them; if you haven't seen them, they are at the top of this page. If you have any other questions, let me know! ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 23:15, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, sorry about that. XD. I check the page every half an hour, and it seems like less and less people are requesting mottos recently, from what I've looked at. I'll get us on the Signpost sidebar. Warm regards, Belugaboycup of tea? 01:11, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Hi878! Recently we approved a motto for 9/11, but to mark it as a special motto, should it read something like:

What say? Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 11:47, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- To be honest, I think that is a very bad idea. First, it takes up more space, which I think we should try not to do. Second, it will already be on the Main Page, so I don't see why we need to say this as well; it is already known by most people. We haven't done anything like that before, and I don't really see a need to. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 23:52, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello! My name is Belugaboy, and by now, you and I both have heard of the Motto Shop, and if not, there's a Motto Shop! It's an exclusive place where users can get their own motto to live by on the wiki. It's great, but we're really running slow, in fact, we haven't seen a customer in months. As much as I'd love to, I've gotten bogged down with several aspects of life right now. We need to find more people like EWikist and Nicky who can get vectors put together. (or, if you feel inclined, you could try it out using the instructions I put on Wikia!)

Account creator
Where do you go to help create accounts?Greg Heffley 22:25, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Try reading through this, making sure you understand it. Near the top, under "Registering for use", it explains how to request an account, what is expected of the one applying, etc. As you can see in that section, it is a requirement that one have had an account for 6 months and made 1,500 edits; you'll have to wait until those requirements are met. Even at that point, there is no garuntee that your account will be approved; besides those requirements, acceptance is based on how competent/trustworthy the admistrator believes the user is, and whether or not there is any need for more users. At any rate, good luck when you do apply! ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 01:19, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Hi878!
Please, consider to give your opinion on this nomination for the New Year's Day, and, if you can, check the nomination for the eleventh birthday of Wikipedia (it's just 1-2 noms below).
Thank you, and a Merry Christmas and a New Year of health, happiness, peace, love, and prosperity to you and your family. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 10:20, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Good catch. Simply south...... "time, department skies" for 5 years 01:12, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Emergency
I disagree, although I have changed it to avoid a little repetition. It is WP's motto afterall. Simply south...... dropping heavy trees for 5 years 20:11, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- I wasn't talking about the "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" part; I meant saying "Nominate on today!" right after that. Without specifying what "one" meant, one could easily assume that we were talking about the first part of the "motto". What you changed it to works, so whatever. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 20:26, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Re: MotD (Wikipedia's birthday)
I think it is perfect, otherwise I would not have approved it.
The reason why I have approved the nomination is "this". So, I speedily moved the motto for January 15 to 16, and approved the nomination (with more consensus) for the Wikipedia bday. The other nominations for Wikipedia bday are good for next year.
Happy 2012 & happy editing. –pjoef (talk • contribs) 08:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think you have forgotten what this project is called: "Motto of the Day". Can you please explain to me how that nomination is in any way a motto? I am amazed that you could call it perfect; it isn't even remotely creative. Go read my comment in the nomination! I don't want to just say all of that again here. ~~ Hi878 (Come shout at me!) 22:37, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- It's "perfect" for the bday and IMHO better than this. I know your reason and I agree with you. It was not my favourite, the other 2 nominations were better than that one, but even if it is not a "motto" but a slogan, and it is not my (and your) favourite nomination for January 15, it has reached consensus, and, motto or not motto, and personal consideration aside, this is the only "rule" that matters... and I'm so tired to send messages to other editors asking for a last minute review, asking for their help. That's all.
All the best! –pjoef (talk • contribs) 08:07, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. Invitation to events in June and July: bot, script, template, and Gadget makers wanted
I invite you to the yearly Berlin hackathon. It's 1-3 June and registration is now open. If you need financial assistance or help with visa or hotel, just mention it in the registration form.
This is the premier event for the MediaWiki and Wikimedia technical community. We'll be hacking, designing, and socialising, primarily talking about ResourceLoader and Gadgets (extending functionality with JavaScript), the switch to Lua for templates, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Labs.
Our goals for the event are to bring 100-150 people together, including lots of people who have not attended such events before. User scripts, gadgets, API use, Toolserver, Wikimedia Labs, mobile, structured data, templates -- if you are into any of these things, we want you to come!
I also thought you might want to know about other upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.
Check out the the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC and our other events.
Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation Volunteer Development Coordinator 13:59, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
