Speedy deletion nomination of Julio Bashmore
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Julio Bashmore requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Wgolf (talk) 21:06, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Speedy deletion nomination of Mothership (website)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mothership (website), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Parkrun
Please Assume good faith and avoid confrontational edit summaries. FYI I have no issue with Parkrun. I simply noticed some non-encyclopaedic promotional piffle on one article which then lead me to discover the same problem was widespread on countless other articles. Unlike the other 2 individual parkrun articles, I still see no reason for the Cardiff instance to have it's own article so have tagged for notability. If I was so inclined I'd login and send it to WP:AFD. Thanks. 51.9.187.2 (talk) 13:15, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited A90 road, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page A92 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The article Chongqing–Wanzhou high-speed railway has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
not yet under construction
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 11:17, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm not much concerned about whether to use the short names or not, I mostly use them to reduce the clutter and people can click on the links anyway. Incidentally I didn't link Hengshan station because this needs to be disambiguated from a station in Taiwan and I'm not sure what its final name will be. I note on the Shanghai–Huzhou high-speed railway, you translate 2 stations as Fenhu and Shengze, which seem to be called Suzhou South and Wujiang South on the Chinese page, but presumably these names may change.--Grahame (talk) 01:53, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Your edit is incorrect and I really wonder why you didn't look at Chinese wikipedia before you edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ramramger (talk • contribs) 17:12, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Ramramger: Hi, I do read the Chinese Wikipedia while editing however it's not always updated. I have created various articles on English Wikipedia that do not yet exist on Chinese Wikipedia, so I don't always assume Chinese Wikipedia is correct and updated. However it looks like I made a mistake here, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I was using this document as reference, which has a later date than the document you cited so it appears the Chinese government can't keep track of its own station names. Best wishes NemesisAT (talk) 17:34, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Earlier this year, the Editing team ran a large study of the Reply Tool. The main goal was to find out whether the Reply Tool helped newer editors communicate on wiki. The second goal was to see whether the comments that newer editors made using the tool needed to be reverted more frequently than comments newer editors made with the existing wikitext page editor.
The key results were:
- Newer editors who had automatic ("default on") access to the Reply tool were more likely to post a comment on a talk page.
- The comments that newer editors made with the Reply Tool were also less likely to be reverted than the comments that newer editors made with page editing.
These results give the Editing team confidence that the tool is helpful.
Looking ahead
The team is planning to make the Reply tool available to everyone as an opt-out preference in the coming months. This has already happened at the Arabic, Czech, and Hungarian Wikipedias.
The next step is to resolve a technical challenge. Then, they will deploy the Reply tool first to the Wikipedias that participated in the study. After that, they will deploy it, in stages, to the other Wikipedias and all WMF-hosted wikis.
You can turn on "Discussion Tools" in Beta Features now. After you get the Reply tool, you can change your preferences at any time in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing-discussion.

Weak content
The weak content was removed in the Pokémon articles expressly because the content was there to justify the article's merit, merely by making the Reception look bigger than it actually was. I would have redirected the first one too, I was merely deleting the content to see how much reception actual content the Reception section had. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 00:48, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your message. I'll be honest, I'm not sure why you feel content like the Official Nintendo Magazine should be removed. But my main objection was to redirecting, nothing personal, I just feel there should always be discussion before that happens. As AfD discussions are now taking place, I'll keep my nose out and let others decide. Best wishes NemesisAT (talk) 16:24, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
Appreciation for a warm welcome!
NemesisAT, I appreciate the welcome message you left on my talk page a month ago. I recently read the Wikipedia guidelines page entitled "Please do not bite the newcomers" and wanted to give you kudos for exemplifying the ideals discussed on that page. I also wanted to try out the quadruple-tilda signature that your post, as well as welcome posts all over the site, reminds new users to use. Thanks for the welcome!

- No problem. Starting on Wikia (now called Fandom) before I started on Wikipedia probably helped me get used to things like signing posts, as it isn't always intuitive. I personally reccommend going into the "Beta" menu at the top of the page (on desktop) and enabling "Discussion tools", it makes it easier to reply to any comment on a talk page, and is what I'm using to reply to you now. No signatures required! You can always leave me a message if you think I can help with something, though there's also the Wikipedia:Teahouse if you'd like to ask a wider range of people. Thanks for this edit here [1] [2], without it the article wouldn't be in AfD as of now and would be gone, eventually it saved Lapras. 180.194.128.118 (talk) 23:41, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

prod
Hi, I note that you removed the PROD for Arthur Tyde. Can I please ask you what your rationale is? The concerns are:
- the article doesn't assert the notability of the subject
- the references given don't seem to show *proper* coverage in *independent* *reliable* sources
- the article serves as a linkfarm for various companies
Thank you, Dr. Vogel (talk) 19:51, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, I generally favour keeping articles rather than deleting them as we have practically infinite space here on Wikipedia. While I agree the article is problematic (no inline references for a start), I feel the Wired and Linux Magazine sources are enough that notability could be established and as such I didn't want to see this one be deleted without further discussion and analysis. The other links appear to be promotional, but this is okay IMO as long as we have some secondary sourcing, and they can always be removed or replaced with secondary sources in the future. You are always welcome to nominate the article for deletion if you still wish. An easy way to do this is with Twinkle, and under the "TW" dropdown selecting "XFD".
