[edit]
The Human Rights Barnstar
The Human Rights Barnstar is hereby presented to you, Al83tito: For your heroic feat of creating the well-research article List of fact-finding reports on human rights in North Korea, in addition to other articles on this hugely important topic. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 07:43, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, Finnusertop! I very much appreciate your kind gesture. I look forward to continuing to contribute alongside you, and maybe even find opportunities to collaborate, in this shared interest that we have! Best, (talk) user:Al83tito 03:10, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mortee: Thank you for your note, and my apologies. Usually I develop a much more advanced draft before publishing, which would have probably addressed the issues you raised. My apologies for publishing too soon, with that issue not fully addressed from the get-go, based your message. I do want to note a couple of things: I can't recall in detail what the article looked like at the time of your deletion, and hence I cannot quite pinpoint the extent of the copyright issue you raised. I do know that I did not mean to infringe on copyright and I do remember that one thing I was trying to accomplish was to quote some reactions from the protagonists that was reported in an article of the New York Times article (which I believe is allowable in the context of that article, when done sparingly and when there is a good justification for it). I suspect that that is what may have triggered your deletion, and probably I could have done a better job of better identifying the quotes, and at keeping them short. But again, I can't quite pinpoint the problem, and on whether this was a false positive on your end, or a mistake on my end (or a bit of both), because of my inability now to review the edit history of that deleted content. Nevertheless, I take your message as constructive feedback and will work to ensure that my contributions are well written and following the best practices of Wikipedia. Thank you. (talk) user:Al83tito  11:35, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see the deleted version myself, but these were full paragraphs copied without quote marks, not a minor slip. Please don't build articles that way in future. › Mortee talk 20:49, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Adventure Classic Gaming has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article does not meet WP:GNG or WP:WEBCRIT. The website has not been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. On 22 January 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Music of Grim Fandango, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the music of Grim Fandango is considered one of the best early examples of adaptive music systems in video gaming, heralding the era of cinematic experiences in gameplay? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Music of Grim Fandango. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Music of Grim Fandango), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Bay Area wiki meetups

[edit]

Hi Al83tito! That's a great question. I don't know of anyone planning in-person meetups or WikiSalons right now, but I've heard of other people interested in this too. If you haven't already joined the Bay Area mailing list, I'd suggest subscribing to it — that's where I look for announcements of new events, and if I organize an event, I'll post it there. I've thought about organizing a downtown Oakland photowalk similar to my San Francisco Financial District photowalk in 2017, since that could be entirely outdoors, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Invitation to Local Wikimania Event in San Francisco this Friday

[edit]

Hi!

Wikimania is happening and hopefully you're enjoying the sessions. While it's fairly last minute, you're warmly invited to participate in the local Wikimania-themed meetup in the Wikimedia Foundation office this Friday (tomorrow!). You will have to register in advance, but we would love to see more people from the WikiSalon community participate! For more information and registration, please check out meta:Wikimania 2022/San Francisco Meetup.

The event will involve hacking, teaching, learning, and celebrating and we'll have snacks. We will have the opportunity to watch live sessions at Wikimania together in the afternoon. The rest of the day we'll have opportunity to participate in the hackathon, and we may have some on-demand workshops/learning sessions.

In case we run out of space, it's first-come-first-serve so let us know soon! Hope to see you there.

DYK for A Stroke of the Pen: The Lost Stories

[edit]

On 18 July 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article A Stroke of the Pen: The Lost Stories, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Terry Pratchett's earliest Discworld stories were posthumously found and published by two of his fans? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/A Stroke of the Pen: The Lost Stories. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, A Stroke of the Pen: The Lost Stories), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello, @Al83tito. I took a look at Music of Grim Fandango and noticed the amount of detail that you put into as a 90% contributor and I am now suggesting that you should nominate it for a good article or even a featured article! Very well done! Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 04:44, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
