Your GA nomination of El Chico del Apartamento 512
The article El Chico del Apartamento 512 you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:El Chico del Apartamento 512 for things which need to be addressed. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 12:12, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- I failed the GA nomination as I'm going to be offline the rest of January. Feel free to renominate the article after solving the issues you agree about. That is, if you disagree with all of my points, renominate the article right now. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 08:10, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- So let me get this straight, you want to fail the article because you won't be online for the remainder of the month? If so, why couldn't you brought this attention at the talk page of GAN? There could of been editors there who would have taken over the review. Its okay thanks for the review though, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 16:21, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

PR of Selena albums discog
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I have not forgot about the PR. I have been very busy with my area's local government. A very important issue in Maryland is about to be discussed, and I am heavily involved with it. I will continue the PR by the end of the week. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Alright so I just copy-edited the article and did some minor things. You can revert if you don't like; it's not all that professional, but I think it will pass FLC. I wanted to get it out of the way so we can focus on the referencing issues.

Your GA nomination of Amor Prohibido
The article Amor prohibido you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is striving to meet the good article criteria, there are numberous changes or clarifications that need to be addressed. - I see from above that you are unable to upload any files, this probably includes modifying existing ones. For Criterion 6, the music samples are too long: I'll take the job of trimming them so don't delete them until I have the modified samples in. I'll also adjust the related nfurs. You still have a lot of other work to do.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 21:20, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

- The article Amor Prohibido you nominated as a good article in the category Arts: Music: Album did not meet the good article criteria at this time. There are suggestions on the review page for improving the article. Once these are addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake. You are encouraged to undertake your own reviews of articles at GAN to assist in the backlog.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:12, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

- Well looking at the J-Lo discog, the sales figures might need "As of (year)" footnotes. That's all that comes to mind at the moment. Coincidentally, I'm also doing a discog on my sandboxes (Chayanne), but I'm not as committed to do a FL at the moment Erick (talk) 23:06, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm trying to explain that sales figures for Selena's albums should have a footnote to denote the "as of (year)" similar to J-Lo's discog. My sandbox also has footnotes to denote the "as if (year)" if that helps. Erick (talk) 23:11, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

RE: Dreaming of You (album)
You linked to a list of singles that reached #1 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart rather than a list of albums that reached #1 on the Latin Pop Albums chart. I just created an article for a list of #1 Latin Pop Albums for the 1990s just a while ago and am working on one for the 2000s decade. Erick (talk) 23:37, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Archiving charts
Which article do you want to archive it for? It's not good to archive the search results. Instead, it's better to cite the specific chart. Of course, if you're citing it for something else, you can archive it by these steps:
- Go to WebCite Archive Page
- Fill out the information. I only fill out the first two.
- Click submit, and be happy.

Peer review limits changed
Hi Ajona1992,
This is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.
While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.
If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Wikipedia talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:03, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Selena Live! (GOCE request)
Hi Jona. An editor appears to have moved your request for a copy edit of Selena Live! from the GOCE general requests page to our requests for articles aiming for FAC page. Since you got the GA (congratulations!) and could try FAC if you'd like to, it is welcome there, but this is up to you. It might or might not be better there: fewer inexperienced copy editors service the FAC-level requests, but turnover is slower. The editor who moved your request appears not to have asked you first, so I thought I should. Whichever you choose, you won't be pushed back in the queue. Cheers, Simon. --Stfg (talk) 14:18, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm readding some of the deleted content from November. I avoided the article since those revert wars, but reading the article further, there's no way in hell it will survive WP:FAR again without some of that content, plus it was mostly one user that was concerned. I need your help with sources and such and we could discuss the article further, like in WP:IRC where I'm usually on. Btw keep up the good work. Thanks Secret account 19:07, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

- It's ok :-) Do you want to work with User:Hurmata, User:Pinkadelica, User:Gr8white and User:Florian Blaschke? They worked on the article and have felt strongly about the recent expansion I made. WikiCup 2012 February newsletter
Round 1 is already over! The 64 highest scorers have progressed to round 2. Our highest scorer was Grapple X (submissions), again thanks mostly to a swathe of good articles on The X-Files. In second place was Tigerboy1966 (submissions), thanks an impressive list of did you knows about racehorses. Both scored over 400 points. Following behind with over 300 points were Ruby2010 (submissions), Cwmhiraeth (submissions), Miyagawa (submissions) and Casliber (submissions). February also saw the competition's first featured list: List of colleges and universities in North Dakota, from Ruby2010 (submissions). At the other end of the scale, 11 points was enough to secure a place in this round, and some contestants with 10 points made it into the round on a tiebreaker. This is higher than the 8 points that were needed last year, but lower than the 20 points required the year before. The number of points required to progress to round 3 will be significantly higher.
The remaining contestants have been split into 8 pools of 8, named A through H. Round two will finish in two months time on 28 April, when the two highest scorers in each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers, will progress to round 3. The pools were entirely random, so while some pools may end up being more competitive than others, this is by chance rather than design.
The judges would like to point out two quick rules reminders. First, any content promoted during the interim period (that is, on or after 27 February) is eligible for points in round 2. Second, any content worked on significantly this year is eligible for points if promoted in this round. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which would otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Copy-edit of Entre a Mi Mundo
Hi Ajona, I hope you are well. I've just completed your requested copy-edit of the above article, but I didn't understand a few of the phrases there, especially "but the decision is solely based on the man..." ('Singles' section) and had to guess at some others. Pease feel free to correct any mistakes I've made in the article, otherwise I hope it's okay. :-) I see you have another request pending; I'll try and get that one done fairly soon Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 00:56, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hey there bud :D I'll look through it and see what odd English you have brought up so I can help. Thanks and best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 19:48, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, I hope all s well with 'Entre a Mi Mundo. I've also copy-edited Missing My Baby, which was quite easy to do. However, I found the sentence "Mario Tarradell of The Dallas Morning News believed that the addition of "Missing My Baby" "were added for good measure" - the bolded part doesn't quite make sense in its present form. I'm guessing it means the addition of Missing my Baby to the album was for good measure. As this doesn't add much to the article, you could remove it completely or rewrite it using the whole quoted sentence. If you want to, I can rephrase this for you, but since I cannot access the Dallas Morning News article, you can copy it to my talk page (which I'll then remove) so I can rewrite this sentence. Anyway, I hope the copy-edit is good; feel free to change the article if it isn't. :-) Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 05:36, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Television episode and season articles badly needed

Forgot to tell you this
The whole caps thing doesn't apply to lists (discogs, awards, etc.) articles. I'm really to not tell you that. If it makes you feel better, feel free to whack with a trout. Erick (talk) 19:58, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

- Looks like there was something missed at WikiProject Albums that was not brought up. According to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization): "If the article is about a work in a foreign language (such as a book or other written work, movie, album, or song), using the capitalization found in most English language reliable sources is recommended." Looks like WP:ALBUMCAPS did not mention this at all. Man, I feel like an idiot because I did not noticed this guideline at all. On a lighter note, I finally had someone to fix the bot to detect and dispaly GA and FA Latin music articles. Which means no more manual updates needed! :D Erick (talk) 07:37, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
¡Q'Viva! The Chosen
Have you heard of the recently premiered reality show called "¡Q'Viva! The Chosen"? It stars J-Lo and Marc Anthony as they travel around Latin America looking talent to put on "The Big Show". I have to say it's an impressive show and seeing as how I'm intrigued by the Latin American culture, it really captures my attention. So last Saturday, one of the contest was a Chicana singing...take a wild guess. Yep. The really interesting part is that Anthony said that Selena was a close and that if she were still here, she would have liked the contestant. Source. At the moment, it's only on Univision, but it premiers this Saturday on Fox. Erick (talk) 20:39, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yes I've heard about Marc Anthony will be talking about Selena from her official chat board however I didn't know what the show's name was. Thanks for the information it's nice to hear other famous people talk about her :-) Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 15:42, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

- Video removed. :( I listened to the new addition of "Como la Flor" and I didn't really like Cristian's voice in this in. I found the album to underwhelming to be honest. To me, there's no better tribute to an artist then by listening to the original songs and Selena's songs were perfect the way they are. BTW, did you get that message I told about using caps found on English-langauge for foreign-songs? Erick (talk) 15:51, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
- Try now :)... I didn't like that version either, they aren't even trying to appeal her to other Hispanics, besides Mexicans... I agree but I like something new though, but not with the way they did it. I liked Don Omar's "Fotos y Recuerdos" and Gomez's "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" (though the adlibs were off in the beginning) and I LOVE the new "Enamorada de Ti" (one of my fav songs) they turned it into a reggaeton-like song. They are going to do an English version of what they just did with this album. I'm hoping Beyonce, Madonna, and other mainstream pop artists will be on the album. They already confirmed Michael Buble will be on it, idk but I'm gonna buy two copies of the album lolz hopefully it will debut at #1 on the TLA, I highly doubt it will debut or even peak at #1 on the Billboard 200 because of their targeted demographic (Mexicans who like pop music) though Don Omar and Juan's additions should appeal to Puerto Ricans, but nothing to appeal the overall 18-49 demographics in America :/ Best, Jonayo! WikiCup 2012 March newsletter
We are over half way through the second round of this year's WikiCup and things are going well! Grapple X (submissions), of Pool B, is our highest overall scorer thanks to his prolific writings on television and film. In second place is Pool H's Cwmhiraeth (submissions), thanks primarily to work on biological articles, especially in marine biology and herpetology. Third place goes to Pool E's Casliber (submissions), who also writes primarily on biology (including ornithology and botany) and has already submitted two featured articles this round. Of the 63 contestants remaining, 15 (just under a quarter) have over 100 points this round. However, 25 are yet to score. Please remember to update your submission pages promptly. 32 contestants, the top two from each pool and the 16 next-highest scorers, will advance to round 3.
Congratulations to Matthewedwards (submissions), whose impressive File:Wacht am Rhein map (Opaque).svg became the competition's first featured picture. Also, congratulations to 12george1 (submissions), who claimed good topic points, our first contestant this year to do so, for his work on Wikipedia:Featured topics/1982 Atlantic hurricane season. This leaves featured topics and featured portals as the only sources of points not yet utilised. However, as recent statistics from Miyagawa (submissions) show, no source has yet been utilised this competition to the same extent it has been previously!
It has been observed that the backlogs at good article candidates are building up again. While the points for good article reviews will be remaining constant, any help that can be offered keeping the backlog down would be appreciated. On a related note, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Murder of Selena
Hi there... You removed my postings regarding the Murder of Selena... they were there to give the general public a view into the details of Selena's murder. If you read the ACTUAL ARTICLE THAT WAS PUBLISHED (http://www.themonitor.com/articles/ring-36976-selena-betrayed.html), you would actually be able to see that every word I posted was not only true, but ALREADY a part of the general knowledge regarding this nightmare, but that there was a semblance of poetry EVEN in our beloved Angel's death... I used actual quotes from the article. It is NOT your job to censor the truth of reality. Read the article, and re-post my words. You should know better than to censor the truth. Your reaction to this will give us a view into your ACTUAL maturity level and whether you deserve to be censoring people who were old enough to live and remember the tragedy... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.247.154.56 (talk • contribs)
- You didn't cite it to your claim which I had to remove since the article is a GA on Wikipedia. Secondly, I am a fan of Selena so I'm not sure what you mean by "censoring", I removed your edit(s) because it did not appear to be constructive at all. Thirdly, if there is something wrong with the article you can post your concerns on the article's talk page so others, and not only myself, can discuss or you can post on my talk page so I can have a better understanding on what you are trying to tell me. Best, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 13:48, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
You are censoring the truth of what happened. Leaving out the details omits a deeper meaning that those of us who were actually involved in "La Onda Tejana" would actually appreciate. You may be a fan, but that gives you no right to omit all the details that our history as a species has a right to know (i.e. censorship.). I was a fan and follower LONG before you were ever born. The article was already printed and is a part of her history. If you look at it from a deeper meaning, each of the events I was quoting was telling us what Selena would never get to tell us... that her betrayal was all encompassing.. everything about her emptied out as she ran to find the authorities, from the cell phone to the I.D. to the passport, to her very life essence. It gives us a more accurate view of just how vicious and unexpected the betrayal was. And c'mon... the ring is such a pivotal piece in the Selena story... for you to censor out the truth makes the general "white audience" think that Gregory Nava was just blowing smoke up our asses when he had Jennifer Lopez drop the ring in the ambulance during the murder scene. If you're such a fan, why can't you see that? Your actions white-washes and sanitizes Y. Saldivar's actions. I find it interesting just how much of a focus you have on that Saldivar woman too. Some fan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.247.154.56 (talk) 04:02, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 April newsletter
Round 2 of this year's WikiCup is over, and so we are down to our final 32, in what could be called our quarter-finals. The two highest scorers from each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers overall, have entered round 3, while 30 participants have been eliminated. Pool B's Grapple X (submissions) remains our top scorer with over 700 points; he continues to gain high numbers of points for his good articles on The X-Files, but also Millennium and other subjects. He has also gained points for a good topic, a featured list, multiple good article reviews and several did you knows. Pool E's Casliber (submissions) was second, thanks primarily to his biology articles, with Pool H's Muboshgu (submissions) coming in third, with an impressive 46 did you knows, mostly on the subject of baseball. Casliber and Cwmhiraeth both scored over 600 points. Pools E and H proved our most successful, with each seeing 5 members qualify for round 3, while Pools C and D were the least, with each seeing only 3 reach round 3. However, it was Pool G which saw the lowest scoring, with a little under 400 points combined; Pool H, the highest scoring group, saw over triple that score.
65 points was the lowest qualifying score for round 3; significantly higher than the 11 required to enter round 2, and also higher than the 41 required to reach round 3 last year. However, in 2010, 100 points were needed to secure a place in round 3. 16 will progress to round 4. In round 3, 150 points was the 16th highest score, though, statistically, people tend to up their game a little in later rounds. Last year, 76 points secured a place, while in 2010, a massive 250 points were needed. Guessing how many points will be required is not easy. We still have not seen any featured portals or topics this year, but, on the subject of less common content types, a small correction needs to be made to the previous newsletter: File:Wacht am Rhein map (Opaque).svg, our first featured picture, was the work of both Matthewedwards (submissions) and Grandiose (submissions), the latter of whom has also gone on to score with File:Map of the Battle of Guam, 1944.svg. Bonus points also continue to roll in; this round, Ealdgyth (submissions) earned triple points for her good articles on William the Conqueror and the Middle Ages, Casliber and Cwmhiraeth both earned triple points for their work on Western Jackdaw, now a good article, Dana Boomer (submissions) earned triple points for her work on lettuce and work by Stone (submissions) to ready antimony for good article status earned him triple points. Jarry1250 (submissions) managed to expand Vitus Bering far enough for a did you know, which was also worth triple points. All of these highly important topics featured on 50 or more Wikipedias at the start of the year.
An article on the WikiCup in the Wikimedia Blog, "Improving Wikipedia with friendly competition", was posted at the end of April. This may be of interest to those who are signed up to this newsletter, as well as serving as another way to draw attention to our project. Also, we would again like to thank Jarry1250 (submissions) and Stone (submissions), for continued help behind the scenes. As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Speedy deletion declined: Bad Girls Club (season 10)
Hello AJona1992. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Bad Girls Club (season 10), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not vandalism. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:30, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Mentorship fo image uploading.
Hi Ajona, I'm glad that my proposal was palatable for you. I'm not familiar at all with image upload requirements so I'm afraid I'll be of no help to you. However, I suggest you seek out User:Moonriddengirl who, IIRC, has a lot of experience with copyright requirements. If she has time she may be able to help you, if not I'm sure she'll be able to direct you to some one else who could be of help. Best, Blackmane (talk) 14:13, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- I do have a lot of experience with copyright, but not really with our images...allowances on "non free" are pretty specific to our policies. If he's available, I would heartily recommend User:Masem. He'd be at the top of my list if I needed advice with an image upload. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:09, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
WikiCup 2012 May newsletter
We're halfway through round 3 (or the quarter finals, if you prefer) and things are running smoothly. We're seeing very high scoring; as of the time of writing, the top 16 all have over 90 points. This has already proved to be more competative than this time last year- in 2011, 76 points secured a place, while in 2010, a massive 250 was the lowest qualifying score. People have also upped their game slightly from last round, which is to be expected as we approach the end of the competition. Leading Pool A is Cwmhiraeth (submissions), whose points have mostly come from a large number of did you knows on marine biology. Pool B's leader, Grapple X (submissions), is for the first time not our highest scorer at the time of newsletter publication, but his good articles on The X-Files and Millenium keep him in second place overall. Miyagawa (submissions) leads Pool C, our quietest pool, with content in a variety of areas on a variety of topics. Pool D is led by Casliber (submissions), our current overall leader. Nearly half of Casliber's points come from his triple-scored Western Jackdaw, which is now a featured article.
This round has seen an unusually high number of featured lists, with nearly one in five remaining participants claiming one, and one user, Muboshgu (submissions), claiming two. Miyagawa's featured list, 1936 Summer Olympics medal table, was even awarded double points. By comparison, good article reviews seem to be playing a smaller part, and featured topics portals remain two content-types still unutilised in this competition. Other than that, there isn't much to say! Things are coming along smoothly. As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck!
