Rosé (singer) → Rosé (South Korean singer) – Dab from Rosé (drag queen) who is also a singer. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:01, 24 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 12:22, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose – First of all, the Korean-New Zealand singer has a ~18:1 pageview ratio with the Scottish-American singer, possibly suggesting a WP:PDABPRIMARY. Even if other users would find such a ratio insufficient for a PDAB, the South Korean singer is a member of the active girl group Blackpink, which has been
[c]ited as the "biggest girl group in the world"
(quoting from the Blackpink article). The Scottish-American singer is more active as a drag queen, such as competing on RuPaul's Drag Race; thus, his role as a singer is of a lesser significance.
- Also, if this does go through, I would much rather have this moved to Rosé (singer, born 1997) as she was born in New Zealand per WP:CONCISE. JohnCWiesenthal (talk) 17:08, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- Support a ~18:1 probably isn't enough for a PDAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:17, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, I agree that it seems that the other Rosé is primarily known for being a drag queen, thus the current dab is sufficient. In contrast, the vast majority of people who are searching for Rosé (singer) are looking for the Blackpink member, not the drag queen. I honestly don't see why the current page titles should be renamed, and especially not to the proposed title considering that she is also a New Zealand citizen. The hatnote that was previously on this page should have not been removed. ɴᴋᴏɴ21 ❯❯❯ talk 20:06, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose: as per above. There's no need for this move, as the other one is known more as a drag queen rather than as a singer. Current disambiguating term are more suitable than the ones proposed. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 16:22, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose: as per above. However, why not change it to Rosé Park or just Rosé! Lililolol (talk) 19:43, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Fine with Rosé Park. Rosé is already used for a type of wine which I don't think she is the primary topic over. * Pppery * it has begun... 19:55, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose: Rosé (singer) is more popular and anyways the other Rosé is more know for being a drag queen than a singer. A change is not needed. We can change it to Roseanne Park later though if Rosé decides to go with her full name when she releases her solo album. If not, Rosé (singer) should not change. Rp.2111 (talk) 07:26, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Is there any support for the proposed Rosé Park or Rosé (singer, born 1997). Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 12:22, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as per JohnCWiesenthal and Nkon21 comments. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 12:38, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per Nkon21. The current disambiguation is sufficient as the other Rosé is primarily known for being a drag queen not a singer. The hatnote would help to direct any readers looking for the other articles. Aoba47 (talk) 22:51, 2 June 2024 (UTC)

Nationality
[edit]RachelTensions, please refer to the comment in the text of the lead sentence, it explains why it is the way it is. Remsense ‥ 论 02:32, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- The comment in the text of the lead sentence doesn't state why the sentence is worded the way it is, just that she's a dual citizen. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Biography is very specific on how dual citizenship should be referenced in BLP lead sentences. Specifically WP:NATIONALITY. "Korean-New Zealand" is ambiguous with "a person with New Zealand citizenship who is of Korean ethnicity". In addition, "Korean" is not a nationality, it is an ethnicity. "South Korean" is the nationality."South Korean and New Zealand" is extremely unambiguous and follows the standards as set by Wikipedia's manual of style. RachelTensions (talk) 02:48, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- The comment says Maintain Korean-New Zealand nationality in lead as per WP:MOS guidelines and South Korean nationality law., which seems pretty clear to me: "South Korean" is not considered a nationality as such. I also confess I don't really see the potential issue of ambiguity that you do. Remsense ‥ 论 02:51, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- The comment says "per WP:MOS guidelines" and then proceeds to go against the guidelines at WP:MOS. So, are we following MOS guidelines or not? RachelTensions (talk) 02:53, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think Korean–New Zealand is plausibly conflating ethnicity with nationality. I think the issue is actually the hyphen instead of the expected en dash. Remsense ‥ 论 03:01, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- If we're relying on a – versus a - to disambiguate between ethnicity and nationality then we've got to make it a lot clearer than that.I will once again reiterate that WP:MOSBIO is very clear that dual citizenship should be written in the lead sentence as "Country1 and Country2" not "Country1-Country2". Why should we make an exception here? RachelTensions (talk) 03:19, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Is Korean and New Zealander plausible here? I'm an American, so I don't know what the potential fine connotations are between New Zealand and New Zealander as a demonym. Remsense ‥ 论 03:25, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- "New Zealand" is the proper adjective to use for a citizen of New Zealand per List of adjectival and demonymic forms for countries and nations and Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand guidelines. So I guess the only question is which order to put them in; I'd assume the country the subject was born in goes first and then acquired (or inherited) citizenship goes second but I don't see anything in the MOS regarding this other than the fact that that's how it happens to be conveyed in the two examples.
"Roseanne Park MBE (born 11 February 1997), better known by her stage name Rosé (Korean: 로제), is a New Zealand and South Korean singer based in South Korea."
I'd probably remove the "based in South Korea" bit too because it'd be a little redundant given that we just said two words earlier that she's South Korean. RachelTensions (talk) 03:38, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

Hatnote for "not to be confused with", regarding the drag queen Rosé?
[edit]Hi all—
The drag queen Rosé has also released music, and both the singer discussed here on this page as well as the entertainer known from RuPaul's Drag Race have songs on music streaming platforms under the same name with the same spelling.
Is it worth including a hatnote for this page that reads, "Not to be confused with the drag queen Rosé, who has also released music"? Or something of the such. I know there is also a French singer named Rose but her name does not include the accent mark. Fruitworth (talk) 00:34, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think this has been discussed this before and the consensus was that anybody arriving at Rosé (singer) would be extremely unlikely to be confused and actually be looking for the article on Rosé (drag queen) given the drag queen's notability is as a drag queen and her music career is just a small subsection of that.Basically anyone seeing the article title "Rosé (singer)" pop up when searching for the article on the drag queen would be very unlikely to think, "oh, there's the article I'm looking for". request for amendment - add the word 'most' between the and viewed
[edit]These accomplishments led Rosé to be awarded two Guinness World Records, for achieving the viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist as well as being the first artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a soloist and as part of a group 87.242.162.98 (talk) 17:06, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
In regards to her releases after she went solo, were any of them actually released through The Black Label?
[edit]I'm puzzled, should her releases actually be credited as to have been released through The Black Label? Last I read she only signed a 'management deal' with The Black Label, not a 'record deal'. She did sign said record deal with Atlantic though, and I believe that has been properly credited. Now, I haven't read anywhere regarding the fact that the singles of her album was released through TBL, not even on the track's Spotify credits, then shouldn't they be removed for not being accurate? 111.95.93.133 (talk) 17:29, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- Reliable sources state that the album is being released under The Black Label: [1]
The album, titled "rosie," will be released Dec. 6, featuring 12 tracks, according to The Black Label. Rose contributed to both the lyrics and composition of all the songs, the agency said. "Rosie" will release her first solo album under The Black Label, the agency representing her individual activities.
, [2]Set for release on December 6, 2024, under Atlantic Records and The Black Label, the album promises to be a milestone in her solo career.
, etc.The store listing on her official website states "This is an official release from Atlantic Records and The Black Label" [3] RachelTensions (talk) 19:00, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Rosé has 81.6M followers on instagram, so she's the 2nd most followed korean individual, it's a request to change it from 3rd to 2nd in the TOP introductory section in the 3rd paragraph,so it should be, "She is the second-most followed Korean individual on Instagram"
And in the IMPACT section, first line, there should be a change in the followers and position, so it should become, "Rosé is the second most-followed Korean individual and the third most-followed K-pop idol on Instagram behind bandmates Lisa, and Jennie, with over 81.6 million followers on the platform." Hatnote to drag queen
[edit]I've attempted to add a hatnote to Rosé (drag queen) several times, and its been reverted with no useful explanation by Flabshoe1. The case for adding it seems clear to me - it's another person named "Rosé" who is a singer (as the lead of his article makes clear - "Rosé is a Scottish-American drag queen and singer"), and thus could in theory have the title "Rosé (singer)". So why shouldn't there be that hatnote? * Pppery * it has begun... 20:50, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- As per consensus on this talk page's above subsections here and here, Rosé (drag queen) is primarily known as a drag queen, whereas Rosé (singer) is primarily known as a singer, meaning the current disambiguation is already clear. Flabshoe1 (talk) 21:02, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- The first of those sections is on a completely different issue (is this person a WP:PDABPRIMARY over the drag queen, versus is a hatnote warranted). The second of those discussions has one person supporting and one person opposing, which is not a consensus at all. * Pppery * it has begun... 21:13, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- I can't say I can envision any situation where a reader would end up at "Rosé (singer)" and expect to get the drag queen's article, given the drag queen is significantly more notable as a drag queen than a singer, and in a world where she was just a singer (ie. eliminating coverage of her as a drag queen) she'd probably fail WP:NSINGER.But seeing as we already have a hatnote for one ambiguous article, might as well expand it by a few characters to cover both... not really that big a deal.
