[edit]

I think the main page for this article should be Motorola Moto because it's the most used spelling and Motorola MOTO be a redirect to it.

Variants

[edit]

Phones that have multiple variants consistently share the same page on Wikipedia, look at Samsung Galaxy S6 or iPhone 7 as an example. Therefore the Moto G4 and Moto Z follow the same logic. Why would we need a separate line item and a separate category for the Moto Z? Plus you arent even doing them consistently. If the Moto Z variants are to be listed why wouldnt they go in the same line item like you did with Moto G? The way you set it up is just inconsistent and sloppy. Additionally with the adding of years is only done to differentiate multiple devices with identical names. If there is only one with that name adding a year is useless. - GalatzTalk 16:53, 16 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As a list of devices, variants should be listed, even though they may be covered by the same article and not separate articles. Some variants are actually totally different phones: the Moto G Play is a very different phone from the Moto G4; and the Moto Z, Moto Z Play, and Moto Z Force are almost as different from each other as the Moto X Style, Moto X Force, and Moto X Play were. They were consistently displayed on 16 Sept before I created a Moto Z section to prevent the current top of the line phones being lost at the bottom of the Other section. I'd break out the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G Play to make it consistent again. Having the year is not useless, it is more information for the reader to understand the relationships of the phones at a glance. Pmsyyz (talk) 11:09, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

While List of Motorola Moto devices would be a fine title, I think the current Motorola Moto is just fine also. See Samsung Galaxy.

Article type

[edit]

Wow, I had never even heard of this before: Wikipedia:Set index articles --Pmsyyz (talk) 13:45, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A set index article is not a disambiguation page: A disambiguation page is a list of things, possibly of different types, that share the same (or similar) name, formatted for best navigating the reader to the sought topic. A set index lists things of only one type and is meant to provide information as well as navigation. Just like a normal list article, it can have metadata and extra information about each entry. An SIA need not follow the formatting rules for disambiguation pages, although many SIAs do. Unlike disambiguation page guidelines, a SIA is allowed to contain red links to help editors create articles on notable entries.

Moto E 2016

[edit]

On this page, only the E3 Power is listed, but apparently there's also a "normal" E3 that has less battery capacity, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board flash. I've no time currently to get to the bottom of this, but if anyone else wants to, please do so. Jalwikip (talk) 12:30, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
