Verified... L1quidm3talz (talk) 19:06, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is a cemetery in my town with around 2.5k memorials, one of them I found, had an abnormal birthdate and death date. Born in 1753, died in 1878..... 125 years old Jacob F. L1quidm3talz (talk) 19:09, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abkhaz woman

[edit]

While looking for sources for this, I saw this piece by a now-defunct paper stating that an Abkhaz woman in Russian Georgia died at the age of 139. While looking across, there are other sources covering it at that time. Should she be included? Tavantius (talk) 15:51, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unverified claims over 130 belong in Longevity myths. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 19:41, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Margaret Maritz

[edit]

I found this offhand on a BBC article about a South African woman who just celebrated her 118th birthday. They say Mararet Maritz, googling her I found Margaret Maritz more commonly.

Wouldn't she be appropriate for this list? Or does more go into verifying her age? 104.129.207.85 (talk) 04:19, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Older than the oldest fully verified person, therefore belongs in Longevity claims, where she is already listed. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:23, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Increasing the size of the list

[edit]

I have a suggestion that the size of the list be increased to at least 125 total names for each gender. Every time a name gets added it gets harder for the next living person to make the list as the age gets higher. It seems we have very few living participants now days, especially with the men and it will get worse in the next few years. The information is all there, since the names were simply deleted as new ones were added. Wouldn't be hard to do and it's fun to see the living move up the list. You'd have to be a real sourpuss to not like this idea. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 00:11, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So why are the rest of you against this? It's soon going to be virtually impossible for any living people to make the list. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 23:58, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Josino Levino Ferreira

[edit]

So why hasn't Josino Levino Ferreira been added to the list of men? He's 111 years, 205 days old and would be tied for 99th place. He's validated too. I'm not doing it because the last time I edited something I invoked the wrath of DerbyCounty and I'm not giving her another reason to complain. https://gerontology.fandom.com/wiki/Josino_Levino_Ferreira GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 03:32, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

With the 4 new cases, he wouldnt be in the top 100 yet. He would have to wait almost a week longer 12.105.249.130 (talk) 05:51, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He's been added now. So much for your four new cases and waiting another week. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 02:55, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

4 male cases need to be added to the top 100 oldest men list: Frank Sylvester 1893-06-25 2005-02-12 111 232 M USA (Texas) USA (Texas) United States (SSA)/Kestenbaum study 2009-01-11 2012-01-13

None of them have been validated. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 02:25, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Where are you basing your opinion from?
The facts are the Gerontology Research Group have validated all 4 of them. I have provided the sources as well. 12.105.249.130 (talk) 17:15, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

99th equal

[edit]

Jose Ferreira is now 111/205 days old Dderbydave (talk) 08:10, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He is not in the Top 100 oldest verified men yet though because of the 4 new additional validated male cases. He needs to reach 111 years, 211 days to tie 100th place which would happen 2024.10.31 12.105.249.130 (talk) 16:52, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently no one else agrees with you. Give it a rest. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 23:50, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The days are wrong for the oldest American Woman Alive. She is 116 and 63 days not 61. Please correct so it doesn’t calculate the new upcoming top 100 incorrectly one is coming up in a few days. Thank you 47.148.159.57 (talk) 15:44, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please specify which person this is referring to, by name. Nobody in the list seems to be 116+61 nor 116+63. LizardJr8 (talk) 23:50, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
