[edit]Is it original research to note that the 1994 National Census, which enumerates the total number of prostitutes (due to reasoning I'm not sure I understand so I won't try to explain), has figures for female prostitutes, yet states that the number of male prostitutes is zero? -- llywrch (talk) 07:35, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

The article merely written as research, no commentary
[edit]The article more written in research and as no commentary left in the article. Likewise to other LGBT right by territory, someone, who specialized in history of Ethiopia, should write commentary from earlier formation of Ethiopia such as the living condition, public attitudes and more. Writing quality
[edit]While, at a glance, the article seems relatively well-compiled and written by someone with knowledge of the topic, the grammar throughout is often quite poor, and seriously needs tidying. It can be confusing to read, and would likely be especially confusing for speakers of English as a second language. I can try and improve it myself in the next few days, but if I’m unable to do so, it seems rather urgent that someone does tidy this up given the importance of the topic. 2001:BB6:4D0D:1100:C47:B8D1:1B85:55C6 (talk) 21:26, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
I’ve made efforts to improve the quality of the English here but there are some passages for which I struggled to interpret the intended sentiment and have left unedited. I suspect it might be more sensible to simply remove some of them Uzbad Gundu (talk) 00:33, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
OK I’m done trying to help here. Any effort made to make this article comprehensible is immediately undone by the addition of further gibberish Uzbad Gundu (talk) 13:27, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
History section
[edit]I feel the following passage is dubious at best. Although the sources cited do contain the details mentioned, the original editor conflates these with firm evidence of documented same-sex sexual activity and I’m not sure there’s sufficient evidence provided to make that assertion.
“Indeed scholars are limited to reaching consensus finding rare evidence of same-sex activity coexistence within Ethiopian society in past times, the earliest reference of same-sex activity in Ethiopia was in hagiography The Life and Struggles of Our Mother Wälättä P̣eṭros (1672). Walatta Petros (1592–1642) and her fellow student Ehete Krestos from Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, were friendly nuns "lived together in mutual love, like soul and body" until death whereas other nuns depicted as lustful each other. The book is the first requiring in "queer reading" style in earliest Ethiopian literature.[8]” Uzbad Gundu (talk) 00:29, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Blank page
[edit]did anyone blank the page and no revert to the original yet, as of November 20? I smell vandalism somewhere. NepgearMahoNickel22H2 (talk) 00:36, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
