Speech and Debate Team
[edit]"Desert Vista's Speech and Debate team, 'The Thunder Speech, Theatre and Debate company' (TSTDC) is widely recognized as one of the top Speech and Debate schools in the state. Desert Vista has historically won most of the Speech and Debate competitions it takes part in. The Speech and Debate team was ranked 6th nationally for the start of the 2007-2008 season." <- Who? soten355 (talk) 22:28, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Sam Cassell
[edit]Sam Cassell's article claims he attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (Baltimore, Maryland) and his bio on http://www.nba.com/playerfile/sam_cassell/bio.html claims the same. I'm seeing nothing supporting the claim that Cassell attended DVHS or grew up anywhere near Arizona. – Zedla (talk) 04:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I removed the following from the article:

Controversies
[edit]I see someone was quick to add a section about that ridiculous photo six girls decided to take spelling out a derogatory term. That's a fact. It was well documented. But, six specific names were posted on Wikipedia. Ignoring the fact they are apparently all under age, I followed the link from that footnote and NOWHERE does the report give the girls' names. Unless another source, which specifically mentions their names appear, is this not a violation of Wikipedia's rules? Robertjm (talk) 17:30, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Robertjm: I knew DV had their issues but this is insanely complicated. Timelines in general are not permitted on school pages so I patch-worked it into paragraphs. There are things that need to be done but, I need a break. The page is getting somewhere, the information must be written into the appropriate sections. Notable alumni
[edit]Jessica Nigri, renowned cos-player and public figure was removed from the notable alumni section of the article by another user. They suggested that if they were notable enough to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines they would have their own articles. Which Ms. Nigri does [1]. He graduation from the school is also mention in a phoenix times article [2] for more confirmation. Thus I feel she should be added back to the alumni list.
