Needs a do-over
[edit]reads like a marketing brochure at the moment. will be editing this page shortly Cubrilovic (talk) 15:03, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Definitely, I removed the line from the first paragraph, "Aptana is the best software released, bar none." This is a completely subjective opinion and does not belong in any encyclopedia.SDNick484 (talk) 05:02, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Company info
[edit]Can anyone add something about the people/company making Aptana? This is really not much info, like 1.0 is not out yet, etc..but I don't really know much myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.32.68.211 (talk • contribs) 10:04, 5 March 2007
This Aptana page has been edited by the marketing folks from Aptana itself. I am not sure this is really ethical.
[edit]What do you think? What shall be done in those cases? Remove the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.17.42.219 (talk) 01:30, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone is free to edit Wikipedia. There's a conflict of interest, but they're not hurting the page by editing. Shadow1 (talk) 23:31, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- There is a policy in Wikipedia against this, but I honestly don't see much harm, so long as they are not advertising and not removing valid criticism. Bob the Wikipedian (talk • contribs) 01:07, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Open source license historical changes
[edit]I re-added a sections on open source license historical changes that Aptana went through. I think this is relevant information for everyone. Bmanning before making any further changes, could you discuss them here first? Including mine, btw, if you think that historic information are irrelevant. But at least, could we make sure that important changes like that are discussed first so that they can be peer reviewed? I look forward to the collaboration Cordially --Pombredanne 23:40, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
General Information
[edit]I use Aptana's open-source products and I've reviewed this article and made significant changes and updates. I believe it represents a fair and balanced summary of the company's products and activities. Given Aptana's position as an important member of the JavaScript/Ajax community, the growing profile of these technologies and Aptana's commitment to open-source I believe this article provide's useful information of general interest. --Swatwork 19:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Pronunciation key
[edit]Aptana.... I'm not sure how to pronounce it. Two pronunciations currently seem very likely to me, but I don't like either of them. Someone please add a pronunciation key to the beginning of the article. Bob the Wikipedian (talk • contribs) 01:08, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
