Description
English: An illustration of the head of Wulfing plate A, one of the Wulfing cache found near Malden, Missouri in 1906. Plate A is the only anthropomorphic plate of the eight plates of the Wulfing cache. Detail of the head shows several motifs associated with the "Birdman" or falcon dancer of the Mississippian Art and Ceremonial Complex or M.A.C.C. including the agnathous head mask with distinctive crenelated crown on headdress, Forked Eye Surround Motif, occipital hair bun and beaded forelock.[1]
