English: The so called "Porta Rosa" (Pink Gate) in Elea (Campania): made of sandstone bricks, it's a rare exemplar of Greek arch dating back to IVth cenury BC. Actually, the arch is not a gate, as Italian name would suggest, but a viaduct, no traces of carving or hinges having being found in the stone. Passing trough the arch, there is the main road of Velia, which connects the southern quarter with the northern quarter.
