Summary

Description
English: Rev. Shuye Sonoda and Rev. Kakuryo Nishijima, the first Jodo Shinshu Buddhist missionaries in the US, depicted on a page in the local newspaper San Franscisco Chronicle. Shuye Sonoda was later to become the first kantoku (director) of Buddhist Mission of North America (BMNA).
