Summary

Description 2 (right) and 3 (left) Pierrepont Place between Pierrepont and Montague Streets in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhod of Brooklyn, New York City were built in 1857 as the residences of Alexander M. White and Abiel Abbot Low, respectively. They were designed by Frederick A. Peterson. There was originally a third, #1, the residence of Henry E, Pierrepont, which was demolished in 1946 to build a playground in connection with the construction of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. The two remaining houses are "the most elegant brownstones remaining in New York." Seth Low, mayor of Brooklyn and then of the consolidated New York City, lived in #3.
