::Your only contribution was badly translating paragraphs from es. wiki, without even attributing as per license requirements. You did no research, did not check any books, merely added info from another wikipedia, some of which was already in the original version in English, therefore some info is redundant and duplicated. Before you "translate" any more, please learn some proper English so that others don't have to do the dirty work. --Maragm (talk) 00:59, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Revision as of 00:59, 10 July 2016

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Deletion discussion about Atlantic Building

Hello, Vvven,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Atlantic Building should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Atlantic Building .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, The Banner talk 21:42, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi Vvven, I saw you translated some articles from spanish wikipedia very well. I recently have translated some spanish article called Independence of Trujillo but it was tagged as bad translation or some like that. Please if you had some time some day I would thank you checked it and get it better to get out that tag. If you're too much busy I understand. Thanks anyway. Best regards.--Twicettowns (talk) 18:48, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gracias, buena semana --AL (talk) 19:09, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

 • Yes i know, you only changed the template and not the player's nationality, but even so it's not correct in terms of WP edits, we use only NATIONAL naming customs, not GEOGRAPHIC naming customs. Thanks --AL (talk) 19:18, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh i see, you reverted me again. Fair enough, i am going to ask for mediation. --AL (talk) 19:20, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to fix these references, are so because I have not been able to pute effectively. These are clear and current references, are the same reference of that page in the wiki in Spanish. These days I'm going to continue translating what is needed to improve the article, also will be almost all the same images of the wiki in Spanish, since that is the language of Chile, and thus has contributed and improved but in that article in spanish.

I need your help to fix the references without deleting. --Vvven (talk) 02:29, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Ch in Old Spanish

Vvven, Why have you written that Ch is considered a single letter in Old Spanish? Is it a convention used in abecedaria of the time when Old Spanish was a living language or a convention of modern Spanish philologists? I know that Antonio de Nebrija did consider Ch and Ll to be letters, but was this convention common? RAE considered Ch and Ll to be letters not from its foundation, but from 1754. Had to revert your edits on List of music artists and bands from Argentina. As much as you'd like to list everybody, Wikipedia is not a collection of stuff. Lists are there to organize and direct people to articles. If an entry does not have an article in en.WP then it does not belong, as clearly stated in the edit notice on the page. If you fell an entry should be there, please write the article first and assert notability. -- Alexf(talk) 23:06, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Peru Barnstar of National Merit

The Peru Barnstar of National Merit
On behalf of the Peru Wikiproject, Luis Darío George (User:Vvven) is hereby awarded the Peru Barnstar of National Merit for his continuous contributions to articles and templates related to Peruvian culture and architecture, most notably the creation of the article on Peruvian colonial architecture and the template for Lima landmarks. It is never an easy task to start an article, or to work on translation, and it is hoped that Vvven will continue providing valuable additions to topics related to Peru.--MarshalN20 Talk 23:02, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please use English

Hi, Please DON'T move churches in Spanish-speaking locations to "...de (Place)". This is English Wikipedia and you should use English forms per our guidelines. I answered in the User talk:Johnbod--Vvven (talk) 18:47, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fringe stuff

I see you've moved it to the appropriate article, and for that thanks. But the sources are terrible. You've copied some of this from [1] and it is your responsibility to check the sources. Not only can I not even find one, random websites by non-experts can't be used as sources, and one of your sources is an artist, not an archaeologist or runologist. Doug Weller talk 12:11, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Doug Weller Well, i think can be valid, Valeriĭ Ivanovich Guli͡aev is from the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is one of the sources that suppor this theory, other one as Mariana Accornero is a author of books specialized towards the artistic manifestations of the Indigenous of the Americas, and the latter Miguel Angel Scenna (1924-1981) was an renowned Argentinian historian "He published many books and articles, among which stand out for its impact. He was a regular contributor to the magazine Everything is History, directed by Felix Luna, where he published many articles. He was considered a moderate member of the revisionist trend.". some even could be more valid resources than other many in the hiphotesis sections in the article--Vvven (talk) 23:34, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let's look at your Russian source. It says Valeriĭ Ivanovich Guli͡aev Pre-Columbian travels to the Americas: myths and realities University of Texas. Pub. Abya-Yala, 1992 pages 186 et seq. What does the University of Texas have to do with this, and could you please quote some of what he says from his book that backs this?
And quotes from Mariana Accornero and Miguel Ángel Scenna, "Antes de Colón", Universitary publisher of Buenos Aires, 1974, page 79. I
This should be at the article talk page and I'm copying some of it there. By the way, your attempt to notify me didn't work. It only works if you add it, correctly, the first time you save an edit. If you revise the edit later adding a "ping" it won't work. Doug Weller talk 17:58, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying from other Wikipedias

You've got to follow these guidelines or your edits are copyright violations. This applies to Walls of Philip IV and I think to at least one other article where you copied material:

Copying from other Wikimedia projects

If copying or moving via "transwiki" from another Wikimedia project that is licensed under CC BY-SA (such as Wikimedia Commons, Wiktionary, and Wikispecies), you may satisfy attribution either by providing a complete list of authors of the original content (the complete list can be generated by copying the history of the remote page) or by providing a direct link to the original material. If the list of authors is brief, this may be provided in the edit summary. A direct link (such as an InterWikimedia link) should be included in the edit summary; the template Interwiki copy is available for the article's talk page. If leaving a list of authors, please also provide a URL to the original page in case it becomes necessary in the future to access that history. (See Help:Transwiki.)

Although most Wikimedia projects are licensed under CC BY-SA and require attribution consistent with the Foundation's Terms of Use, some projects are handled differently. For example, content from Wikinews is licensed under CC-BY and may be reused with attribution only to "Wikinews." (See Wikinews:Copyright.) It is the responsibility of the editor importing content to determine the license that applies and ensure that attribution is satisfied.

Translating from other language Wikimedia projects

Translations of copyrighted text, even from other Wikimedia projects, are derivative works, and attribution must be given to satisfy licensing requirements. When translating material from a Wikimedia project licensed under CC BY-SA, a note identifying the Wikimedia source (such as an interlanguage link) should be provided in an edit summary in the translated page, ideally in its first edit. Where applicable, the template Translated page can also be added to the talk page to supplement copyright attribution. You may use an edit summary like (using French as an example) Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at :fr:Exact name of French article; see its history for attribution.

In copying material here, remember you take responsibility for the sources and also for any copyright violations in the original articles - hopefully there won't be any but we frequently find copyright violations in our articles, so it isn't impossible. Doug Weller talk 18:09, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Doug Weller ok thanks, but i really need you help me with the requests, of the sources editors, but is well known that all these created articles were of constructions that existed--Vvven (talk) 19:13, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Doug Weller look, the Walls of Philip IV doesnt have a rough translation, is just i left its gates its complete names--Vvven (talk) 19:13, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh they should have articles, I'm not questioning that. But I'm finding it hard to understand some of Walls of Philip IV. I can't help with the sources, I'm afraid. Doug Weller talk 19:41, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Black people. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

 1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Kendall-K1 (talk) 21:22, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your DRN request

Hi, I'm the current coordinator over at DRN. Your request there has been removed because it was not made through our listing bot using the "Request dispute resolution" button at the top of the page. Manually-filed requests breaks our maintenance bot. I would ordinarily recommend refiling through that button, but your request would have been declined even if you did because DRN, like all other forms of moderated content dispute resolution requires extensive talk page discussion, preferably at the article talk page, before seeking assistance through dispute resolution. Please try discussing the matter at the article talk page in question. If the other editor will not discuss, consider the recommendations made here. If that comes to a standstill after extensive discussion, please feel free to refile (using the button mentioned above). in all my years of editing in here and in soccer (nearly ten), I have never seen writers address the naming of a footballer as such ("known in SPAIN/PORTUGAL/GERMANY/whatever as"). We choose the name by which the sportsperson is most widely known, for 99,999999999% of his career so far, he has been called "Saúl".

Hispania Baetica

Hello, Vvven -- I saw that you changed (moved) "Hispania Baetica" to "Baetica". I couldn't find any discussion about this, and I'm curious as to why you changed it. I'd like to learn why "Baetica" is better than "Hispania Baetica".  – Corinne (talk) 03:58, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, when i saw Lusitania, a Roman province of the former Hispania, abbreviated, I wanted to pair them, also i saw checking that was said also as abreviated by the Romans self, i dont made the same with hispania Tarraconensis, cuz would come a some troll, or some crtical that could revert, so i made a bit carefully making just one, are you right with that, i dont care much that articles though--Vvven (talk) 04:08, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ferdinand I of León

I see that you added content in the article on Ferdinand I of León which you translated from es.wiki. I have added the translation template in the talk page, something that must be done whenever you translate from another wikipedia, as was mentioned previously in your talk page. I will be going over the translation since some parts are unintelligible. Regards, --Maragm (talk) 17:33, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

you should not delete all the translation with the intention of fixing it later. First, because you can replace the translation arranged two months later or maybe within two years, and second because anyone, and not only you, can arrange translation. so just you should not take the initiative. I will revert your decision, waiting for someone wishes to improve the translation, anyone with a native level in English can improve it because it can understand--Vvven (talk) 18:19, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted your edits since in you seem to have deleted previous text that was well-referenced, and also due to the faulty translation. Will be adding more from es.wiki but only if info is not already in the article. --Maragm (talk) 18:21, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll put the references early posting by others users who contributed. but give me time, a short time--Vvven (talk) 18:24, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The translation is awful. You have erased referenced text. The lead should be a summary, not as long as it is now. If you want to keep it, fix it: translation, references and all. --Maragm (talk) 18:27, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

it I see it as as a summary of several events, and neither see long when compared to other articles of the same indoen on the rest of Europe, I will return references and continue translating. It is what I can do. anyone else going to visit, administrator, amateur, interested, specialist or native English can is their right to pass to correct grammatical errors and sentences, and so is made as quickly and contribution as possible--Vvven (talk) 18:36, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you cannot write in proper and correct English, then maybe you should not do so in this wikipedia. Nobody else is under the obligation of fixing your mess. You have destroyed a perfectly good and referenced article. --Maragm (talk) 18:38, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect was neither is, if so had a "golden star". and just some translating, and i saw, it was very incomplete. also it had enough paragraphs difficult to understand, with sentences that look like did not read the formerly and over putting them. after this article, I will continue to improve other Iberian medieval kings's articles, adding new sections not mentioned, instead of trying to discredit me and insult my work deliberately, for a few errors, which in many articles I've been doing Users to have arranged, or thank me several administrators/users, you might as well help improve it--Vvven (talk) 18:50, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Now are added the references and relevant information that i deleted (along with the information and references that I add). Arranged.--Vvven (talk) 19:41, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Vvven, if somebody offers to fix your translation, you should let them and not revert them. I have reverted to the version Maragm was working on. Srnec (talk) 19:42, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

and How people will see, to fix it, unless the interested see this discussion, and if he is too much interested it will fix, if that comes to watch the revert to see if it's worth doing. I do not think, it's better to do as I indicated, that what any see at first glance, think or not to fix it, and so could be arranged--Vvven (talk) 19:48, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You can report me as you want, I think I'm right, I'm just improving and developing the article... I included all the old article, adding new important information, references and new images related. I have not reverted anything--Vvven (talk) 20:00, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

and I will make time to do the same with other articles of iberian kings that are now very incomplete, even some of them yet a stub--Vvven (talk) 20:17, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Your only contribution was badly translating paragraphs from es. wiki, without even attributing as per license requirements. You did no research, did not check any books, merely added info from another wikipedia, some of which was already in the original version in English, therefore some info is redundant and duplicated. Before you "translate" any more, please learn some proper English so that others don't have to do the dirty work. --Maragm (talk) 00:59, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
