Revision as of 12:29, 20 October 2012

A tag has been placed on Brandon Banks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:33, 18 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Fair use rationale for File:K-stateFBhelmet.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:K-stateFBhelmet.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Courcelles 05:34, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Topgun530. I would like to invite you to a meetup this Saturday at 5 PM at the City Museum to celebrate Wikipedia's tenth anniversary. Even if you cannot make it, please drop your name at Wikipedia:Meetup/St. Louis in the regrets section or watchlist that page to be informed about future meetups in St. Louis. Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 21:19, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In Cotton Bowl Classic, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Gus Johnson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

Annual football conference season navboxes nominated for deletion at TFD

I have nominated all of the annual football conference season navboxes for deletion as I don't believe they are useful navigational tools. You can find the discussion here. Grondemar 03:02, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Acronyms, initialisms and other abbreviations

Greetings, Topgun. I have reverted a small part of your recent edit to the Lon Kruger article. Specifically, I have restored the full expression "National Basketball Association (NBA)" to the lead. Per WP:MOS#Abbreviations, the first use of an initialism (e.g. NBA) should always be defined in a parenthetical following the full expression to be abbreviated (e.g. National Basketball Association). This should be done in the lead of all NBA, NFL and MLB player bios. After the first instance, the abbreviated form may be used freely in the article. Thanks. Shalee Lehning

Second try, let's see if I did better this time. Thanks for catching the other mistake, it was Danielle Zanotti.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 15:16, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
