Criticism of Wikipedia

The purpose of the article is to document criticisms of Wikipedia that have been made in the media and/or by notable personalities. It's not a space for you to record your personal peeves. ... discospinster talk 00:12, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Criticism of Wikipedia. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection.
You've made the same edit 4 times in less than one hour, today, so you're at 3RR. You've discussed the issue on the other editor's talk page, so here's your edit warring warning. Meters (talk) 00:54, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

Hello there. So, I came across your comments over at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Discospinster#Can_only_the_media_and_notable_personalities_criticize_WP.3F - and Discospinster is completely correct in what he told you. You are not to add your personal commentary to articles in general. I'm sorry you have negative feelings about Wikipedia, but Wikipedia's article about Wikipedia is not your place to add your personal grievances. Wikipedia is written based on what can be verified by reliable sources on a subject. You, as an editor, cannot cite your personal observations. Its fundamentally how the website works, so please do not pester anyone else about this. Feel free to ask me, or others, for help, but your current approach is not acceptable, and would get you blocked should you continue down this path. Thanks.
