Human Rights in Canada
Hi Moxy, thanks for all you've been doing on this article. For some time, I've not liked the way the article has been organized, but never got around to doing anything about it. Now that you've got the ball rolling, it spurred me into action. I like the way you've moved the legal framework up to the top of the article. I think the bad cases in our history definitely need to be included there, but the whole point of the modern legal framework is to do better; I think the current legal framework is the best way to lead off, as you've done. You'll see that I've been dividing up the different types of laws into clearer jurisdictional breakdowns; I didn't like how (whoever it was) seemed to lump constitutional and federal protections together, as if they are all federal. I'm gradually going through to make it clearer what is Charter, what is federal, and what is provincial. Hope you agree with that approach? I'm also working on the cites; whoever did the legal sections put in a lot of bare urls. :::Date formats have been all over the place so I put in a mdy tag; I think that was the majority of the cites. Also, I've been using FirstName LastName for articles etc; again, the cites were inconsistent, so I just went with that. ::::I don't like the repetition in the sub-sections on the federal legisaltion and the repeated use of "comprehensive legislation", then referring to the Canadian Human Rights Act. Hi there

To be frank, I think your proposed wording is the worst of the lot. Please discuss on the Talk page and see if we can get consensus on the wording. Is your objection about the use of more recent scholarship that shows that tens of thousand of Indigenous people were killed in the frontier wars? And why "accretion", a word which suggest that land naturally drifted towards the settlers?

Happy to discuss on the article talk page. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 06:41, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

On WP:BUTTON
Hi @Moxy,

Why did you undo my redirect? It seems (to me) like not many people go to WP:BUTTON (it's literally 3 sentences, not that big), and per WP:CUT, it wasn't controversial, as few people visit it, and many, MANY more visit H:BUTTON. It should not have been controversial, as this would have helped many more people access the Help Buttons. So why did you undo it? To me, at least, what you did seemed unnecessary, aggressive, and unhelpful. Maybe instead, we can find a better shortcut for the Button Style Guide. We can work together. I don't mean to be rude or mean with this, it's just that you have to admit the help button is definitely helpful for newcomers! If you could please get back to me within a week or so, that would be amazing. Have a great day!

Hi Moxy, you reverted my new photo collages. Please have a look at photo collages of cities around the world, for example Tallinn, Riga, Miami, Los Angeles, Verona and practically all other cities worldwide, they all have collages with a comparable amount of pictures. I have recently had a lengthy discussion at the help desk page, that newly created collages may not just be reverted. May i kindly ask you to undo your changes? Furthermore, i also expanded the introductions of the articles, and you deleted those expansions as well. :All great examples of image spam ......that content editors hate and cause a scrolling nightmare. 10 files in the lead of 4 paragraphs is simply crazy. Good example San Francisco.....4 would be ok.....in my view if the city has a world-renowned landmark there should only be the one.... San Francisco (Golden Gate bridge)... Sydney (opera House)..... Paris (Eiffel tower).... London (tower bridge) etc . Having to scroll through all these images just to reach the second paragraph in my view is a deterrent to reading the article .... as we're all aware most people only scroll a few times. <span style="font-weight:bold;color:darkblue">Moxy</span>🍁 08:49, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Canadian peacekeeping

[edit]

The article Canadian peacekeeping you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Canadian peacekeeping and Talk:Canadian peacekeeping/GA1 for issues which need to be addressed. Please help! New sockpuppet spotted

[edit]

I don't know exactly how to proceed. But I'm very sure user Tromneck (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is a sockpuppet of a large list of socks, I don't remember the original name but Hordeolum (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) was one of the banned socks.

How do I know this? This user is obsessed with editing religious statistics from countries all around the world (infoboxes) or the pages "Religion of XXXXX" themselves. And this user named "Tromneck" does exactly the same as Hordeolum (now permanently blocked) did before. Always editing sourced data with fake numbers or doing synth without inserting any new source.

I've also seen other permanently blocked accounts that did exactly the same edits and this belonged to a major "parent" first sockpuppet but I don't know the name. As you are an admin, can you please check this? Thank you. LucenseLugo (talk) 11:14, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Canadian peacekeeping

[edit]

On 8 April 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Canadian peacekeeping, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Canadian peacekeepers participated in every UN peacekeeping effort from its inception until 1989? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Canadian peacekeeping. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Canadian peacekeeping), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I think the paragraph listing kingdoms and empires is necessary, partly to refute anti-African bias regarding their history which remains very prevalent, and because the pages on the history of certain regions are quite poor, and the pages on the individual polities are much better, so for people who want to gain a cursory view of African history those links are much more useful. Mission Statement

[edit]

Hi. I wonder if you'd like to revert your edit on WP:PURPOSE. What the article says is not what the source says. "free access to the sum of all human knowledge" is not the same as "a comprehensive collection of all of the knowledge in the world". Indeed WP:PRIME make the exact same point while discussing Wales' quote.

I see no reason why WP:PURPOSE can't contain the actual quote, rather than a bad interpretation. Escape Orbit (Talk) 10:43, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Breaking the 3-revert rule on the Estonia article

[edit]
Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Estonia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saltsjöbaden (talkcontribs) 17:33, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User watch

[edit]

Hi I'm just curious, can admins watch users like users watch pages, so it comes up on your watchlist? I appreciate the input, I know my edits aren't always great. I'm going to try to be less polemical but it's just frustrating seeing bias you disagree with. If there's any instances where I behave poorly or don't take the best route please feel free to contact me, idm being held to a high standard, I'm still learning basic things lol Alexanderkowal (talk) 20:46, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Alexanderkowal:...Anyone can look at what YOUR DOING... But I can assure you articles that are contentious are many people's watch list (especially admins who've had to do actions on the page)... I have over 30,000 pages on watch list I believe....but the reason for me noticing the quote copy pasting was this tool that I and many others look at on a regular basis. I know it’s you. Please reverting my edits. I’ve told you this FOUR TIMES NOW. You’re a fucking stalker at this point. LEAVE. ME. ALONE. Get a fucking life dude. I’m fed up you, this behavior is insane. Your actions are actions of somebody who shouldn't be a fucking editor. You better stop. DO YOU FUCKING HEAR ME!? YOU BETTER FUCKING STOP!!! You clearly need mental help, something is WRONG with you. Normal people don’t do this shit. Get a fucking life, grow up. And haha you never reverted my edit on Chad, did you? Either participate in discussions or don't

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Elinruby. I noticed that you made a comment that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

It is unacceptable to decline to read, as you did at WikiProject Canada, which is in itself fine, but then suggest based on not having looked into something that the discussion is so bizarre that my account must be compromised. Hopefully now that the discussion has been derailed to explain that to you, we have put that to rest, but this is becoming a pattern and the above follows a warning at WikiProject Canada after you cast source verification as ignorance of the issues. Despite the pattern I am starting at the level one template out of courtesy for your past contributions. Elinruby (talk) 07:20, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you not lose the snark

[edit]

yes there are other sources, many of them better than your 1991 publication probably. I accept that you aren't willing to help but in that case please stop getting in the way. Elinruby (talk) 06:50, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you are aware of other sources why are you wasting peoples time? Never said I won't help......best try to comprehend what others say better. Moxy🍁 10:37, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
all I know is what you are doing right now is definitely not "helping". Elinruby (talk) 10:48, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Providing you with sources and restoring a few statements you have removed with better sources is not helpful? Moxy🍁 10:57, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let me explain yet again in hopes of not being called TL;DR this time. I went all through this topic up and down when the graves were found in Kamloops at the time in 2021. This is a local news story for me. There are about six sources, none of which had previously been discussed at any noticeboard, which have been promoting the idea that there are no bodies in those graves. I discovered to my horror that the article had been rewritten based upon them. I have made some headway with that problem; the article at least no longer cites spiked.com. The Dorchester Review and Western Standard likewise have been discredited and removed. It is now possible to say "the genocide in Canadian residential schools" without getting instablocked. Now we are down, for the most part, to missionary sources pushing a narrative of attacks on the faithful, and some synth involving otherwise good sources for actual events. There was indeed a church fire in Hazelton, for example. It doesn't matter how close in time it was to the Tofino fire however, because it is physically impossible that the same person set both fires. Etc.
And no, waving around a volume of the TRC report is not helpful without a page number, and that's a primary source anyway. To avoid anyone else having to to explain that we do have RS in Canada I am trying to only add peer-reviewed or at least very high-quality sources. Although in some some cases I have cited the report just to get a reference in there, mostly for highly contentious points like the studies on malnutrition, and hope to replace that as I plug each school into Scholar, jstor and The Wikipedia Library. Since I am already seemingly being gas-lighted by civil POV-pushers, having an experienced editor following me around muttering darkly that I need to acquaint my self with foundational documents is not helpful, no.
I think you possibly got this impression from the discussion about COMMONNAME with another editor I had pinged into the discussion. I asked him about this topic since we had crossed paths in the area of whether Canada is still a common law system, since I have done considerable work on legal systems that are not. And no, it isn't really, he says, btw. He says it is now a hybrid system. In any event, I don't know what he does IRL but it's probably something legal and I consider him knowledgeable about such matters as "was there a Government of Canada per se before Confederation?"
Source verification can require asking some questions that seem blindingly simple-minded to other editors. Sometimes that is because they missed something and sometimes not, but I make a point of not just verifying the parts I don't like. I really don't want to argue with you and completely understand your desire to protect these articles, but this is not the stable version I left two years ago and I am not the person they need to be protected from. My goal here is to source all this scheisse so irrefutably they won't be able to use it in a hoax again. I hope this clears things up. I have a couple of articles in the works that may also help with this. Elinruby (talk) 11:36, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You must be working on articles I'm not aware of...... I don't see any edit wars or anyone banned from the topic. I simply don't understand why there's 10 posts at the reliable sources noticeboard.... why are you simply not replacing sources you find contentious? Moxy🍁 16:32, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I put a 5 image gallery on the topography section, as it is appropriate to showcase the UK landscape, so people can see what it looks like. If you look at the France page in French you can see they have huge galleries and it is no way as extreme as that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117PXL (talkcontribs) 19:29, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was shortening the template. Sorry for the issues, but I think I did some improvements. Can we solve the situation without deleting all my work, please? Cats' photos (talk) 00:37, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I did not see any warning. Cats' photos (talk) 00:38, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good got your attention....Come to the ongoing talk.....the template is not an index... is already too long and should serve only as an introduction to main topics on Italy. To keep this overview template concise, please consider adding links instead to one of the many other "more topic oriented templates" about Italy. See the Category:Italy navigational boxes Moxy🍁 00:40, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My attention was lost because I did not receive any notification or see the template. I already considered the more specific topic-oriented templates. Indeed, I only added links on those subjects that were not covered. I used as a reference other countries' templates, and they are quite bigger. Cats' photos (talk) 00:42, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Genocide of indigenous peoples

[edit]

Hey, @Moxy:. I saw your comment here on the talk page for Genocide of indigenous people. The consistent re-addition of controversial material, which was boldly added and subsequently reverted multiple times, has failed to reach a consensus on an RFC. I have just reverted another forced addition of this content, but it seems this issue needs to be addressed elsewhere rather than relying on editors who notice it accidentally. You seem like a very experienced editor; do you know if there's any action that can be taken? Perhaps this matter should be brought to someone? HaOfa (talk) 05:25, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I saw this too but I cannot revert due to my 0RR sanction. Since this is related to ARBPIA, I am tagging administrator @ScottishFinnishRadish (who I believe is the main admin in this area). SFR, it looks like there’s a problem with this article. Editors keep pushing a controversial addition that didn’t achieve consensus in a recent RfC, and I'm not sure that locking it on the last stable version would help here in the long run. ABHammad (talk) 14:57, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Consensus#WP:NOCONSENSUS where the matter is being discussed and cease trying to invent issues where none exist. Selfstudier (talk) 15:00, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see a similar case at Israeli allegations against UNRWA, where editors continue to push controversial changes despite opposition and through edit warring. @Selfstudier, content changes should follow discussion and be made *after* consensus is reached, not before. You are an experienced editor and it makes me wonder why it happens everywhere. ABHammad (talk) 15:33, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, trying to invent issues, if you believe you have a case about something, go make that case, else...? Anyway, enough polluting of poor old Moxy's talk page.Selfstudier (talk) 15:44, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The media and non-academics simply used the terms "Indigenous and genocide" to much nowadays.
 • "Is what's happening in Gaza genocide?". YouTube. March 6, 2024.
How is it we have a page with 50+ Indigenous genocides?
International Law = Three genocides in history have been recognised under the 1948 legal definition: the Cambodian genocide, the Rwandan genocide, and the Srebrenica massacre.
Country with the most educated population = Canada officially recognises eight genocides that took place beyond its borders: the Armenian genocide (1915–1917), the Holodomor (1932–1933), the Holocaust (1941-1945), the Rwandan genocide (1994), the Srebrenica massacre (1995), the Genocide of Yazidis by ISIL (2014), the Uyghur genocide (2014–present; recognised by Canada in February 2021), and the Rohingya genocide (2016–present). Hey

[edit]

Why do you keep undoing my edit, what's wrong with saying Whites and Blacks are the biggest ethnic groups in the United States in the first paragraph. Why do you want the first paragraph to mention every ethnic groups except the main 2 ones. HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 02:01, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh wait I just looked at the 2020 census and found that Latino and Hispanics are actually the second biggest ethnic group in the U.S. instead of undoing my edit you could've changed "African American" to "Latino or Hispanic" American. Can you do that? I still think we should mention the 2 biggest ethnic groups in the first paragraph. HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 02:06, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's being reverted cuz you're simply wrong..... please review the first section of the article your editing and the section on blacks. Let's quote what's in the article.....
 • "Americans as "Hispanic or Latino" and "Not Hispanic or Latino", which identifies Hispanic and Latino Americans as a racially diverse ethnicity that comprises the largest minority group in the nation."
 • "Black and African Americans make up the third largest group in the United States, after White and European Americans, and Hispanic and Latino Americans."
Really should only edit topics you're familiar with. Moxy🍁 02:07, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then can I write Hispanics and whites are the biggest ethnic group in the first paragraph and take African American out since I was wrong? HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 02:11, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But there's no racial group in the lead mentioned by size? Moxy🍁 02:12, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is, the lead mentions Samoa Americans and Native Americans, but it doesn't say anything about the 2 biggest ethnic groups which are apparently white and Latino American HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 02:15, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We mentioned European ancestry and African-American ancestry.
 • "Despite its multi-ethnic composition, the culture of the United States held in common by most Americans can also be referred to as mainstream American culture, a Western culture largely derived from the traditions of Northern and Western European colonists, settlers, and immigrants. It also includes significant influences of African-American culture"
Moxy🍁 02:21, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think we should start with the basics ...first read over White people. The description of ethnicities and racial groups here is a sensitive/contentious topic.... Not really the place to learn the wikiways. Moxy🍁 02:23, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But I think we should mention the biggest 2 ethnic groups in the first paragraph, I know it's already mentioned in the page, but I think it should be in the first paragraph as well. And why are you talking about African American ancestry, apparently I was wrong and whites and Latinos are the 2 biggest ethnic groups in the US. Not blacks HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 02:26, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have made an addition to give some stats over just naming 2 groups see here. or read third para Americans Moxy🍁 02:37, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You need to review WP:BRD.....don't get block..... your edit warning in multiple articles. Moxy🍁 13:10, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't edit warred in a while, last time was almost a week ago, and before that a few weeks ago. I only edit warred recently because I forgot, but I wrote down some of the Wikipedia rules on a piece of paper since I forget things sometimes. And if you're saying I edit warred today or yesterday, I didn't, I checked my revets and had 2 reverts before my most recent one. You might say 3, but that one doesn't count since In the edit summary I was talking about how "I discussed the edit in moxy's talk page". Im pretty sure when editors reach an agreement on a talk page that edit you make doesn't count as part of an edit war. Now if I undid your newest edit now, that would count as edit waring because then that'll be 4 reverts in a 24 hour period. HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 13:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you request some help from Wikipedia:Mentorship and should review Wikipedia:Disruptive editing....... Don't get banned before you can learn the wiki ways. Moxy🍁 13:35, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How is saying Whites, Latinos, and Blacks are the biggest ethnic groups in the US, how is saying that disruptive? HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 13:50, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because what you wrote is simply wrong as not all whites are from Europe (As seen in the content you deleted with its source). There is a certain level of competence required when writing about academic topics. I suggest you move on to topics your more familiar with. Moxy🍁 13:57, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your the one who added White Americans with ancestry from Europe. I just deleted your paragraph and added it on the first paragraph HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 14:31, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also why does it still say North Africans and The middle east have over 57% of the population, the 2020 census says white people. HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 14:32, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We are here to be factual and lead readers to more info....WP:Purpose
 • What I wrote with sources

White Americans with ancestry from Europe, the Middle East or North Africa form the largest racial and ethnic group at 57.8% of the United States population.[1][2]

 • Your charges that removed the sources

the biggest being White Americans with ancestry from Europe

Moxy🍁 14:40, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OHHH!!!! [edit]

Are you really that tired of us, Mox? Your latest suggestions have been good, and many of them might well be adopted in the end. Mason.Jones (talk) 23:07, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In general I find most attempts at improving readability and providing sources at the main USA articles an uphill battle. Things were moving in such a good direction.... more informative and a source for readers to have a greater understanding of usage. That said you're a great Steward of the article with a great attitude. I simply don't understand the philosophy of I know best and removing sources in the middle of a discussion. Some (only a few) editors have a horrible reputation thus I follow Wikipedia:Avoiding difficult users as I've seen too many old timers like myself lose it and leave the project. When we started this project we were full of academics... this is no longer the case. Moxy🍁 23:20, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Very true: Wikipedia attracted more "academics" in its early years, but to me, the article "United States" has never been a peaceful project. I still prefer that you remain on it, because your ideas tend to win out. Re "Transportation" section: Yes, this needs many more proper sources or it faces being tagged and quite possibly cut. "European Canadians" edit war

[edit]

It is genuinely pointless of you to keep adding a "disputed" section where your "dispute" itself, what you wrote yourself and are arguing for and which you keep on re-adding, states "Not all people who self-identified as white are of European descent...many that self-identified as white are of North African or middle eastern descent". There is not even a self-identity of European in the census. I have explained this already on the talk page. There is only ethnic identity (does not ask for race), and StatsCan categorizes the races themselves based on ethnic origin responses.

AS WELL, I would like to inform you that even on the map that is currently shown on the European Canadians page, the map itself includes White Canadians, not only people whose origins were in Europe. If it only included European origin responses and not other white responses like Canadian and French Canadian, then rural Quebec would not be as 90%+, it would be around 50%, but this is not how the map is shown. I honestly encourage you to re-read our whole conversation, so you can understand how my thinking unraveled. C.monarchist28 (talk) 05:59, 28 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

October thanks

Thank you for improving articles on October! - My story today is a cantata 300 years old, based on a hymn 200 years old when the cantata was composed, based on a psalm some thousand years old, - so said the 2015 DYK hook. I had forgotten the discussion on the talk. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:05, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Human Rights in Canada

[edit]

Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 19:24, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

pls jump in..its huge and all over the place...lots repeating. Been spending most time adding some better content and lots of sources. Moxy🍁 19:31, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this is the type of article that needs lots of sources! I will keep working at it, but there's a lot there. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 19:49, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Date formats have been all over the place so I put in a mdy tag; I think that was the majority of the cites. Also, I've been using FirstName LastName for articles etc; again, the cites were inconsistent, so I just went with that. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 20:43, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't like the repetition in the sub-sections on the federal legisaltion and the repeated use of "comprehensive legislation", then referring to the Canadian Human Rights Act. This evening, I'll try to consolidate/clean up that area. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 13:30, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 06:41, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

will purpose a real change to the half paragraph that looks like 2 topics that should be one......as its just odd as is. " tens of thousand of Indigenous people"? what does this mean? it that alot? is it 10% of the population or 60%. Article is loosing its readability. Moxy🍁 06:49, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A few years of stagnation with 80 percent of the edis simply reverting. Wondering if this is really more of a detriment than a help to the article. Wikipedia:Status quo stonewalling. Moxy🍁 00:24, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On WP:BUTTON

[edit]

Warm regards,

Avishai

Please do not change shortcuts from our guidelines and policy pages to help page EVER! Specifically because the shortcuts have already been used in discussions and is in our archives. One is a guideline approved by the community with an average of 100 views a day vs a help page with zero information on it that gets 3 views a day. Moxy🍁 00:33, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Moxy First of all, from some brief checking, if you go to the "WP:" shortcut prefix instead of the "MOS:", VERY FEW actually go to that page. Only a few. And THEY HAVE BEEN CHANGED, even recently! So I have no clue what you are talking about, since people HAVE been doing it clearly. And some WP:-something MOS related go to things not related to MOS! And shortcuts CAN change! And they frequently do! And also, how many discussions are we talking? I very much doubt it is significant enough for me or other people to go through each link and change it! This is not a highly cited article. Please respond soon. I don't want to fight about this, but nothing I did was against Wikipedia Policy or rules. - @Avishai11 Avishai11 (talk) 12:26, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's not about breaking the rules it's about common sense ...Pls review WP:CHANGESC ..never a good idea to change guide links to help poages.. Moxy🍁 12:53, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Heidelberg and Mannheim

[edit]

Hi Moxy, you reverted my new photo collages. Please have a look at photo collages of cities around the world, for example Tallinn, Riga, Miami, Los Angeles, Verona and practically all other cities worldwide, they all have collages with a comparable amount of pictures. I have recently had a lengthy discussion at the help desk page, that newly created collages may not just be reverted. May i kindly ask you to undo your changes? Furthermore, i also expanded the introductions of the articles, and you deleted those expansions as well. Kind regards Tibesti1 (talk) 08:36, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your infos concerning the pictures. Please just tell me how many pictures are allowed in collages, it seems to me that 6-10 pictures are normal. Tibesti1 (talk) 08:39, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All great examples of image spam ......that content editors hate and cause a scrolling nightmare. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Political Party

[edit]

Hi, is there further evidence showing that Robert Kennedy Jr. became a member of the Libertarian Party in 2023? From what I understand, the earliest he became a member would be in 2024, when he was accepted by the Libertarian Party of Colorado to be their presidential candidate: https://x.com/LPCO/status/1808321139615179094. Agree I'll tag it see if someone can find a source..... If not her forthcoming we'll just change it. Moxy🍁 04:18, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
