Hi Daniel Case<br>
Need your intervention with restraining User Tigeroo who has again begun wholesale deletions of referenced content with citations .<br>
Here are three specific instances in one single day from the same article <br>

Asgardian, again

Neither are acceptable responses especially the reply to you (as an uninvolved admin who is only helping out after a request for help was made).

As the reply is to you I suppose it would be better if you asked another admin to look it over just to avoid any chance there might be suggestions of you not being unbiased when it concerns a direct reply to you. I know it ropes someone else in but that is unavoidable. (Emperor (talk) 11:09, 10 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Have you not read the reply I posted on my talk page to the question you asked me last month?

The reason why I chose the username "I Hate Pat, I Hate Pat, I Hate Pat And His Stupid Old Cat" was because yet another new series of Pat started on the day I joined, and I really think he should be axed because he has been on since 1981! If you look at my userpage, you'll see that I have written a parody of his theme song! I Hate Pat, I Hate Pat, I Hate Pat And His Stupid Old Cat (talk) 12:11, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just created this uniquely Hudson Valley article today and was wondering if you'd be willing to assess it. I also nominated it for DYK. To disclose fully, after I started it I discovered the less-well-named and less-informative SOS triathlon article. However I thought about it and decided that if I couldn't find it by searching the first time, neither could anybody else, so I redirected it to the new page in a bold fashion. Don't know if that makes it ineligible for DYK, but I figure telling the DYKing what I did will cover that angle of it as well!--otherlleft (talk) 01:44, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjours M. Case,

I posted a DYK re: Béatrice Bonifassi on Nov 8th and it seems that all the other noms from that date have comments except for mine. Since some of the articles I have referenced are in French, I figured I'd see if you could look at it, given you have an intermediate knowledge of the language.

My comment about Blade Runner

Say, that's pretty interesting; I didn't realize Blade Runner was so often used for such comparisons. The article certainly illustrates several instances as well, though it seems to emphasize the video documentaries. 71.243.223.66

The moment the block expired, 71.243.223.66 (talk/contribs/block log) came back and is doing the exact same things to Talk:Kodocha and Kodocha - deleting talk page documentation and rebuttal of his behavior, deleting or discombobulating anything in mainspace he perceives as negative, and adding personal-blog-style commentary such as "At Last Sana and Akito are Together again How Long They Stay Together Is Not Told But We Can All imagine What Happens Will Be Handled By Both of Them......Together..."
It's possible that some of his edits could be perceived as being within AGF, albeit with an extremely poor command of adult English. But they're almost all detrimental, and I'm not keen on trying to sort through them while he's actively engaged in vandalising the pages. arimareiji (talk) 05:17, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your intervention. I'm about to head off to work, so I don't have time to sort through and find any salvageable material. I'll do so when I get home, but almost invariably his edits since Hexachord were unhelpful at best. arimareiji (talk) 06:00, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I realize that the user in question already has a block review template on their page, I would just like you to review your own block for a moment, considering things. Your template says that the user is a sockpuppet account of a previously blocked user. As to my understanding, sockpuppeting is only not allowed if it is used to disrupt, and as far as I can see, this second account was not used to disrupt, and was only created because the user had forgotten his or her password. Secondly, the original user was never blocked in the first place. I hope that you do not take offense at this.— dαlus Contribs /Improve 12:34, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bridges and River County Cats

Recently I have seen some editors adding Category:Bridges in New York and Category:Bridges in Ulster County, New York to the same article, same thing with Category:Rivers of New York and Category:Rivers of Ulster County, New York. I have raised questions at WT:WikiProject_Rivers#Category:Rivers_of_Ulster_County.2C_New_York and WT:WikiProject_Bridges#Bridges_in_X_County about the desirability of the child/parent combo in these cases, since, if extended to all counties in the state, the child cats would exhaust the parent cat. I belatedly figured out that the county cats in question were created by you, so I thought I should let you know.

Actually, in the case of rivers, I think the county cats are probably a bad idea per se, which would make the parent/child issue moot in that case. The bridge county cats seem fine as cats-- I'm just not sure we should duplicate. Anyway, I will look forward to your views.

BTW, am I the only one driven crazy by the Bridges-in/Rivers-of difference? Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 16:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With bridges, the thing is that wp:Categorization_and_subcategories suggests that duplication is usually to be used "when the subcategory is not part of a complete categorization scheme for members of the parent category. For example, actor Marlon Brando is in both Category:Best Actor Academy Award winners and its parent Category:Film actors." But if we create a complete set of Bridges in X county cats, then the county cat assignment will be exhaustive, suggesting that duplicate cats should not be assigned.
The note in WP:BRIDGES#Categorization about duplicate cats is, I think, talking about nonexhaustive cats, similar to the Actors/Academy-Award-Actors situation, like Toll Bridges, and Suspension Bridges.
Since we presently have only two Bridges in X county cats (Ulster and Orange), and one Rivers of X county cat (Ulster), now would be a real good time to settle both issues. -- Mwanner | Talk 17:53, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uncivil Edit Summary

Hi. I think this Edit Summary, in which User:RetroS1mone said to me, "what part of do not modify don't you understand" and accused me of "promoting blp violations" (even though the note I placed was done on the instructions of Jimbo Wales and MastCell), was clearly uncivil, and could've been worded more politely. If you agree, could you address the matter? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 04:53, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If it Jimbo indicates to me that links to the removed versions were not wanted, then that's fine. My issue is with the manner in which Simone disregards the Civility policy. Jimbo is more than able to clarify any misunderstandings on my part of his instructions without the obnoxiousness exhibited by Simone. Nightscream (talk) 19:35, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Daniel thank you for trying on clarifying this problem. Nightscream refuses to talk to me, that is not how we work together at Wikipedia. I am sorry when you think my edit summary was abusive, it was just, I am very exasparated Nightscream keeps intervening in a very very simple matter, very very easy to interpret policy, again and again. It was not a mistake Nightscream linked to the blp violation, it is Nightscream's on-going disagreeing on blp policy.
There is a fringe group called AIDS denialism, mostly like thirty or forty people who are full time activisits in it in the world, they say HIV and AIDS are not real. They have a message board on MSN and I watch it and some from my friends watch it bc now or then they have a campaign to sabotage WP. They did it in this spring, that is when I first became editor, they did it again in last weeks. They try putting on false claims about HIV and AIDS and on smearing good scientists like Robert Gallo and Luc Montagnier. They do not use sources, when they do it is stuff they publish themselves.
November 4, one of them goes to Robert Gallo, AIDS denialism, adds this stuff, it is what Jimbo is talking about when he says "RetroS1mone did the right thing, clearly. Wikipedia is not a place for people with ranting agendas to come and smear people they don't like." and also "Treating angry lunatics as if they are worthy discussants devalues people who really are worthy. Allowing vicious insults and/or rants from lunatics to stand, as if they need to be responded to on an equal footing with thoughtful objections, makes Wikipedia a less noble place"
So I see this stuff, for me it is not worth any thing bc of, WP:SPS, WP:SOAPBOX, WP:BLP, WP:TALK all kinds. I know what the source is, it is from a full time AIDS denialist that publishes her own stuff on the internet and made a "publishing company" to publish her one book. Total Talk page violations, it should just get deleted, this is a mean angry person trying to disrupt Wikipedia. So I remove it just like WP:BLP and WP:TALk says, I inform every body like User Verbal and Someguy1221 about why, I even said to the IP editor why it was.
Then Nightscream restores the whole thing w/o an edit summary. WP:BLP is very very clear, burden of proof for sources is on people that add or restore blp stuff. So what Nightscream does was a blp problem, Nightscream did not look up the sources, did not look at the false smears, just restored it. BC Nightscream thought BLP does not apply on talk pages, Nightscream said that later. I showed Nightscream they were wrong quoting the BLP policy, they were rude and dismissive of me and said, well do you know all the policies by heart? Well no i don't, but I also don't make big edits when I am not sure about a basic policy. That is what Nightscream did. Nightscream still did not understand the BLP policy bc they put examples in a long comment at Jimbo's talk page, where they say potential blp violations should get discussed even when there is not a source before you do anything with it. That is just wrong there is nothing in BLP about doing that.
I apologized very much when Nightscream said I was incivil, Nightscream never accepted my apologies. Nightscream said they wouldn't talk to me again. Nightscream went to Jimbo Wales. Jimbo said I was right. Jimbo said Nightscreams interpertation of censorship was "odd." Jimbo also said a way to handle stuff like this in the future would be deleting the stuff and leaving a note. Jimbo did not say, "hey nightscream pls leave a note there." But Jimbo also said I did the right thing and SheffieldSteel did the right thing deleting or refactoring. Well I had all ready left a note saying blp violations were deleted, SheffieldSteel left a note like that, and MastCell closed the discussion. So a week later Nightscream goes to MastCell talk page and says they want to leave a note, MastCell I do not know if they knew my note and Sheffields were there, is like, ok, whatev, but keep it short. Nightscream puts a paragraph in the discussion that says do not modify and they link to original blp violations. Well in mean-time, the IP editor was banned. They made an account call Whereistheproof and put the password on their AIDS denialism MSN group and made socks. The IP was a proxy server they were all using to get around recognition, put rants on WP, stack AFD voting. They kept trying on adding this same blp stuff at Robert Gallo and Luc Montagnier and AIDS deniallism.
So what I will do in the future is this, I will try be more polite, but I think linking a blp violation is promoting it, want to or not, delibarate or not. I also want Nightscream to understand BLP better, that is a main policy here, it is bad when administrators do not know it and restore and then link to violations. I am happy talking to Nightscream even tho Nightscream keeps calling me "obnoxious" and things, I think we need to talk and work together on WP, and I am not having a personal problem, I just want policy to get understood and followed. May be Nightscream can get a mentor on blp, is that a good idea?? Thx, RetroS1mone talk 00:36, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYKproblem template

I left a message at Template talk:DYKproblem regarding the problem with the signature in it (and then after I left it I realized there's probably nobody other than me watching that page, so I doubt I'll get any answers). Anyway, if you're good with template syntax maybe you could take a look. I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is, so if we can't fix it maybe a better solution would just be to remove the signature part from the template and sign messages manually when using the template (as you've been doing). —Politizer talk/contribs 01:40, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I note you unblocked User:Fatal!ty a couple of days ago, I regret to inform you he has been re-blocked per this discussion. As the unblock was so recent, I thought it prudent to give you a heads-up. Lankiveil (speak to me) 11:08, 23 November 2008 (UTC).[reply]

if another indef is needed, I'd appreciate if you do it instead of me--since he claims his deletionism as a reason and my tendency in the other direction is well-known, I'd like to avoid any possible wiggle-room for a claim that what I did might be so motivated. ban discussion

I saw your ban proposal on ANI.

I have some interest in the ban topic because more than a year ago, I was banned (blocked as a sock of a banned user). Both the administrator calling for the ban and another administrator have told me that they don't believe that I am a sock. I was called a sock simply because someone thought that I was opposed to the proposed ban. I was not opposed to it but simply thought that the offense should be cleared spelled out and not just a "I don't like you ban". It took months to get unblocked. The wisdom of unblock has been proven by over a year's worth of good editing.

I haven't looked at the ban proposal much but I've started to think if the current definition of bans are overly harsh. People, especially teens and young adults grow and mature. Wikipedia will likely be around for many years. Should a ban be limited to 1 year (a common maximum by ArbCom), 3 years, another term? What do you think?Chergles (talk) 16:14, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, but a) IME a flash outdoors at night with a digital camera will give you an almost totally black image anyway and b) most news agencies would clean it up a little before putting it out. Look, can you remember I did this in good faith? It's morning where I am and I haven't been following the news all night. So I have no idea what's been out there and what hasn't. Daniel Case (talk) 16:17, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know you did it in good faith. Flickr feeds tend to become lousy with copyvios after this kind of event so the issue comes up a lot. Modern digital cameras will let you take pics in the dark (mine goes up to 3200 iso) but they will be very noisy (so the ability is mostly useless). The amount of cleanup that can be done is limited and the images come from when the news agencies were still trying to rush stuff out the door.Geni 18:06, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Black for Peace and Justice

Hey Daniel,

After I realized that you took the picture Image:Elting Library.jpg, I was curious if you ever got one of it when the Women in Black were protesting. I don't think they're notable in and of themselves, but probably warrant a mention at New Paltz (village), New York. If you didn't, I'm going to see if I can get a shot before the war runs out.--otherlleftNo, really, other way . . . 01:17, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you really? I should start looking more closely at your edit history to see where else you've taken pictures and make sure I'm not in any of them!--otherlleftNo, really, other way . . . 01:22, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. However, you definitely roam up and down I-87 and Route 9W a lot. I try not to cross that river . . . it's really much too wide for that.--otherlleftNo, really, other way . . . 01:42, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When I lived on Long Island I traveled up that side a lot, but now I've gotten eastofhudsoniaphobia. It's a darn shame, and an even worse neologism. I think it's because the toll is eastbound.--otherlleftNo, really, other way . . . 01:49, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. And hopefully on Saturday we'll have the only image of Women in Black on Wikipedia. I hope it's not too cold . . . --otherlleftNo, really, other way . . . 01:59, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SIDS And Kids Foundation

hi Daniel. My daughter contributed an article for this topic, which you removed

This page has been deleted. The deletion log for the page is provided below for reference.
* 13:20, 8 October 2008 Daniel Case (Talk | contribs) deleted "SIDS and Kids Foundation" ‎ (G11: Blatant advertising)

It wasn't contributed by the foundation themselves and wasn't meant to be advertising, let alone blatant advertising. In fact, reading the link to ADS doesn't help me know why it was categorised as advertising - what we wrote seems ok to me. Of course, it might have been changed significantly - but I can't check :-( Is there any place to discuss how to bring it back correctly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.175.44.157 (talk) 12:07, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BufferedIO

Hi! It looks like Mangojuice got to it first, and lifted the autoblock on BufferedIO (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). I've also modified the block on Zstfu (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) to not automatically block the underlying IP address. Usually there's no need to ask the blocking admin first in these sorts of cases, but I appreciate the heads-up. Cheers, TenOfAllTrades(talk) 15:13, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reassess?

DrKiernan downgraded 1400-1500 in fashion from A-class to B-class with these comments: "parts of this are unsourced: e.g. blonde hair was desirable; layout needs sorting out (large white space on my screen; image showing straight-cut neckline next to text about V-cut necklines)". I removed the white space (caused by a recently added image). You originally did the A-assessment; can you take a look and see if this downgrade seems reasonable? (I admit it, I want my A back.) Kamilo beach

Kamilo Beach has been described as "Hawaii's dirtiest"

Good work, but we should probably remove that as well due to the problems with the term "dirty". Hawaii's dirtiest beaches are listed by the NRDC (see for example [1]) and the way "dirty" is defined in this context, applies to beaches exceeding the limit for bacteria content. The list already shows two entries for Hawaii, and Kamilo isn't on it. So, I think we should avoid repeating these claims made by popular sources (I didn't add them to the article) and focus on using more accurate terms, such as "plastic pollution", etc. Viriditas (talk) 10:38, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your unblock of 123.2.123.220

123.2.123.220 (talk · contribs) may not be an open proxy, but it is most certainly being used abusively by a user that is using multiple accounts and multiple IPs. This was also previously noted in the block log. A re-block for a shorter period of time but longer than 24 hours would have been more appropriate than simply an unblock in and of itself. Orphaned non-free media (Image:ShopRiteLogo.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:ShopRiteLogo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hello, apology and comment

Sir,

May you accept my humble apologies, but first... Thank you for taking the trouble to review my call for help.

I would like to comment and in some parts apologize on the reason of you not wanting to unban me

Decline reason: "This edit clearly indicates you are another blocked user using this IP to evade a block. In fact, I might have checked out for open proxiness based on what you said, which, if true, would allow us to block this one permanently. You also engage in personal attacks and fail to assume good faith. And reposting the same unblock request three times without getting one of them reviewed is disruptive as well. — Daniel Case (talk) 14:07, 9 December 2008 (UTC)"

The edit you referred is to of someone I know nothing of, but might I add that the IP I am using is that is given by my ISP, something like the one they have in Dubai. Anyone who uses the same network that gave me this IP can access it, As for PAs, well I was being friendly I merely added a hello as in the case of 2 but was said by another user to be commiting a vandalism. I'm not trying to say that he's a bad person or anything but I just think that perhaps he should cut the newbies a little more slack.

As to the personal attacks, I am a little confused as to what that might mean, what I wrote on Kira's userpage was merely 3 . I can't see how this might be an attack of any sort.

I would like to disagree on the part of assuming good faith. I think I did. It's just that they didn't seem to have the same on me. I think one of them secretly reported me. But now it doesn't really matter, then I think, I got somewhat upset from it, and tried unblocking myself. Which I think led to the multiple requests. But if you were to look back at my first request you will find that I only did one. But as I took my time waiting, i think impatience got the better of me, but I still don't think it's much of a disruption. One or three... the net result and workload is still roughly the same. Anyways I apologize for that, and any of all what I have done.

Excuse me

I just logged in and looked at Deck the Hallz's talk page, to see what he's been up to, or if he's been unblocked. And what do I see? Not only is is STILL blocked, but he had AGAIN requested unblocking. And not only did you DENY the unblocking request, but you PROTECTED his talk page against further edits! What, what, what's the matter with you?! You protect his page on the grounds of abusing the appeal process? Well, how else should he have appealed it?! And you know, he's absolutely right- who the hell would keep up that sort of charade for this long? I beg of you, if you're not gonna unblock him, at least unprotect his talk page so he can speak his mind. And I'll tell you, though- the way he's been treated ever since he joined Wikipedia, you'll be lucky if he ever does return. Huh (talk) 11:36, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If'n I may inject me personal opinion into the matter, I've been looking over this case myself a minute ago, and done some thinking. I agree that the circumstances do seem pretty suspicious, and that there's plenty o' reason to think that this Deck the Hallz guy's a sockpuppet. However, I also think Feats-O-Strength here's got himself a valid point. If it were me in this situation, I don't think I'd have the time or willpower to carry on such a pointless, meaningless charade. Especially for what, a year now? Image sizes

I can agree with you that 200px is a doable size. I didn't realize the default was 180; apparently in the past I changed mine to 120 and it's been that ever since, so my intentions were a bit skewed. I still think 300px is just way too big though - takes up too much of my screen (even when I hook my laptop up to a 19″ monitor).

WRT the article, I rearranged many of the images, after your refresher on MOS:IMAGES. Almost all image placements violated MOS:IMAGES: many were placed just before the section they were intended for; many were placed on the left just under section headings; and at least a couple were placed in the wrong spot (above or below by a paragraph or two). Once I rearranged the violations, I staggered the left over images to avoid stacking (as best as possible).

I'm kind of surprised you undid my change rather than just changing them (which you did in your next edit anyway); otherwise you wouldn't have lost my removal of "small" describing roundabouts. It did occur and can be found below line 77 in the edit summary.

I also cropped the end sign because of all the dead space, then I shrunk the image in the artcle to default. The sign is larger as default in the crop than it was in at 300px with the dead space.

I would propose that the image of the Dunn Memorial Bridge be shrunk due to forced image stacking and the small section it resides in. Even at 150px, it is still identifiable, and it's kind of a minimal addition to begin with. But I will allow you to make that decision. I do appreciate keeping all images the same size throughout.

Thanks. ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 22:37, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Funny, when I posted that list, I had similar thoughts in that it reflected hard work and dedication but also reflected a subset of Wikiholism. Between feeding the DYK admin bot beast and striving to make it onto or improve our standing in the many DYK lists and records, we set up a very drawing WikiProject. I'm close to making it onto DYK Creations/expansions list (DYK article creation), and want to do it before the end of the year (the next eight days). RE: Yikai123

He's getting hit by the autoblock of the block of User:Chaosphereitrules which just happens to be on the same range that I blocked here. I'd be fine with removing the autoblock only, but I'd suggest leaving the range block (which is anon only). It's a small range, so I'd also keep an eye on Yikai123. Thanks for the note. - Rjd0060 (talk) 17:31, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking at this and I figure it's more likely the better tag is PD-art-70-3d (Though I don't remember if that is sufficient for US PD; I haven't rechecked the Mickey Mouse Protection Act recently article.). Far as I can tell, the monument (according to the article) was unveiled 1930, and French died in 1931, so it's PD in quite a few jurisdictions. Circeus (talk) 20:23, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IIRC, it's very often a certain period after publication (don't remember the length) OR 70y after death, whichever is longer/shorter. The lengths usually vary if it's anonymous publication (goes from 50 to 100 years in Canada IIRC), but merely posthumous publication changes nothing. For a bit I suspected it might have been a work for hire, but it does not fall into the category. Copyright renewal is irrelevant to the issue anyway, as renewal prevents the work from becoming PD before the statutory limit, but certainly cannot extend it beyond that limit. LinkFA - markup in Automated Transfer Vehicle

Hello. On Dec 16, you inserted this markup. Right now, my bot removed it, as the destination article bg:Автономен товарен кораб does not seem to have any "featured" mark. Now, I can't read the language, just guess from the layout, so I (and thus my bot) might be wrong. Can you tell me why you thought this article to be featured? Guandalug (talk) 14:04, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. Might have been "demoted" as well. I just asked to make sure there is no obvious mark I missed (and thus to fix my bot in case there was). Thanks a lot. Guandalug (talk) 17:38, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Collateral damage from Angelo de la Paz block

Thanks for the heads-up about the autoblock of Sanada Yuki-kun (talk · contribs). Since getting the `bit in 2007, I have only had to deal with autoblocks on a couple of occasions, so please forgive my lack of clue. I followed the instructions at WP:AUTOBLOCK, but could not find this user in my search at either Special:Ipblocklist or toolserver's autoblock finder. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate the help! Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 18:46, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you recently blocked Trollmann (talk · contribs) for a username violation. The word "trollmann" is a Norwegian word that translates as "wizard". Therefore, I think that this user probably is Norwegian and chose this name without intending any reference to Internet trolling -- at least, we should assume good faith until evidence shows something else. Could you consider unblocking this user? Is he back? (talk) 19:09, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. I understand it so that you consider the username to be promotional because it contains the string "troll" which is also contained in the name Digitroll. However, since the username is a legitimate word, I don't agree that the username itself is in any way promoting the company. IMHO, this user may have created the Digitroll article in good faith, and should be notified about why that article is not appropriate - but not blocked. It may be that he just doesn't know the notability policy, and judging by the deletion log he only created the article once - he has not been repeatedly spamming. If you still think he should be indefblocked for creating this article, I kindly request that you replace the block message with one indicating that he was blocked for creating a promotional article. Is he back? (talk) 00:25, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your lack of foresight in banning ShabuShabu

Arbiteroftruth repeated removed information from The Little Nyonya and you did not block him. The actress in the show was criticised as quoted from the reference given. He changed the word to "praised" instead. You mean he is allowed to do such things instead?

Look at the amount he is editing for a show that is not even from his country. People who receive first-hand information and could not update gets blocked instead. I must applaude your lack of foresight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.186.12.204 (talk) 18:54, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And what is that first hand information that you are referring to, Shabushabu? I read omy.sg as well. As for editing something that is not made by my own country, as far as I'm concerned, that is not a crime on Wikipedia, nor is it a crime to do so in the US, Singapore, or any nation on this planet, to be precise. I am simply a Wikipedia user from Arizona who watches Singaporean TV series (for my own reasons, which you have no right to know, Shabushabu). I have already exhausted my patience with you, and I am going to recommend to Wikipedia that you be banned by the community. Arbiteroftruth 09:18, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Daniel-maybe you can help with an error I saw

I was just reading the article on the movie "The Reader". It appears to me that the article says the Kate Winslet won a golden globe for the movie-at the top it says it is a golden glober winner (and it is not), and at the bottom under awards it says that Kate won for it. She won for her role in "Revolutionary Road". I don't know how to correct the article, and under "discussion" it said you might be able to help. I would appreciate it if you could do so. thanks, Pat Hathaway 66.142.222.211 (talk) 04:40, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quick DYK question

Hello. I've been working on the Icos article for a few days now and today I glanced over the DYK rules. I thought that there wasn't a time limit on expansions for articles being nominated to DYK. But now I noticed in the DYK rules it says that expansions should be completed within 5 days. How strict is this? Is it exactly 120 hours, or is it more flexible? I can get Icos to 4x within an hour or two, but 5x will take at least another day. Is this enough? Thanks! Shubinator (talk) 05:22, 15 January 2009 (UTC) (I also posted this message on Dravecky's talk page, but he doesn't seem to be online now; he's not answering)[reply]

Thanks for your quick reply. To clarify: flexible with the size, the time, or both? I would rather take it to 4x instead of 5x, because 5x will be stretching the material to its limits. I plan on keeping up the quality I've put into it so far. There are few sentences that aren't cited. After the expansion I hope to get it nominated for something (GA, A, or FA). Shubinator (talk) 05:33, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've posted my DYK under January 10th. Please tell me if I've done anything wrong. The Icos article is at 4x, and stretching, as the Manufacturing section shows. Thanks for your help! Shubinator (talk) 07:01, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

Hi, I've noticed at least one user who only seems concerned with going to pages and changing the term "passed away" to "died" with the justification that "everyone dies sometime." Is this a policy of Wikipedia or this just person who basically has nothing better to do but change terms because he doesn't like "passed away" for whatever reason? I tried to find something about it in the various manuals but didn't see anything. Figured an admin would be the right person to ask. Thanks. DX927 (talk) 01:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NY Route 32 importance ranking for CD

I have gone ahead and assigned an importance ranking for NY Route 32 under the Capital District wikiproject banner. The assignment put is High importance as it goes through Albany, Watervliet, Cohoes, and Waterford; important areas and those sections of 32 are important for the regions history, plus it goes through other areas of the region, and it's well known to most CD residents. I hope you agree with the importance assessment, if not feel free to change it. I did, however, find what I believe is a minor mistake or oversight in the route description, possibly simply made by someone not all that familar with differences of town/ hamlet/ village boundaries in the CD,- 32 doesnt go through Green Island but the article says it goes from Albany to Menands, to Watervliet to Green Island and into Cohoes, in reality it goes through Maplewood right after Watervliet, Maplewood is a hamlet of the town of Colonie; it actually goes through the town twice, once leaving Albany, because Menands is village WITHIN the town of Colonie and then leaving Menands it goes through Schuyler Heights another hamlet of the town, THEN the city of Wateverliet, then the town of Colonie again this time in the hamlet of Maplewood, then it enters Cohoes. Green Island is on the other side of I-787 from Maplewood/Colonie. 32 has had many route changes, I'll have to look at an old map I have from prior to I-787 construction, it is possible 32 did go through Green Island and up Dyke Ave into Cohoes at one point, but we are talking about 30+ years ago at least. If you can get a hold of a Jimapco map those are pretty accurate on city/village/town boundaries and shows the names of hamlets more than most map companies do. I would do the edit myself but dont want to step on any toes as this is a FA article and I dont have any verifiable sources (other than my own substantial geographical knowledge, I tend to work on CD articles about the various hamlets, villages, towns, cities, counties, etc). I hope that was constructive!Camelbinky (talk) 04:01, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that there will be gaps (though I must ask, and hopefully you know the answer- How does an article get to FA status when one of the criteria is no obvious or essential gaps? I may be biased since I am from the Capital District, but wouldnt the fact that much smaller downstate stretches get more information than the much larger Albany-to-northern terminus stretch mean that the article lacks just a little from being a FA article?) I hope its ok that I go ahead and add to this missing stretch and put in more information? I dont want to upset or step on anybody's toes. I know sometimes articles become very important to the people who work on them. I am much better at researching and finding hard to find sources for obscure history facts for articles than I am at putting facts together into a coherent flowing article. I hope that if you have some time you can take a look at History of Albany, New York and see if you have any suggestions or editing you can do to make it flow better. Thanks!Camelbinky (talk) 19:18, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking policy

Hi Daniel

I am not a particular fan of Sweet Autumn Misery's editorial contributions as I think they are on barely or not notable topics. However, my read (which may be incomplete due to either (a) nonpublic information or (b) my inability to find the relevant data) is that you blocked the user based on the "say-so" of one editor, backed by incredibly limited information and a wild inference, no discussion, no checkuser, and no debate. Further, it appears that you are waiting for that editor to be satisfied that the charge is baseless, rather than trying to find a consensus or making your own determination.

Hence, two questions:

1. Is that a correct summary of the events that have occurred? and

2. Is that the normal way blocking is done / undone?

About WHOIS and sharedip templates

Hi Daniel, I was going through the IPs listed at AIV just now and noticed that you'd tagged a few blocked IPs with whois, etc. I think that's great as not enough people do this helpful task, but I thought I'd let you know that you're not really supposed to subst: the whois or the sharedip templates (c.f. the documentation for Whois and SharedIP). Thanks again for helping out! —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 16:42, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Reader

Daniel Case, good job on trimming The Reader (film)'s Plot. I was especially concerned about some details and interpretations not supported by the actions in the film and your effort fixed some of those (I have the feeling someone familiar with the novel had written much of it). I'll continue to take a look at it as well.

Re: GA nomination of Crystallographic defects in diamond

Thank you for comments. I have just fixed some misprints there. So far, I do not see a strong reason for failing GA. Please do write where you think references and style should be fixed and I can do that on a fly. The article is indeed too technical, but as a first-hand review it might be useful. The original old version of that page was more popular, but unfortunately wrong scientifically - a plague of many Wiki articles. Best regards. NIMSoffice (talk) 01:54, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New DYK template for nominations

Hi,

I've been working, somewhat at Gatoclass's behest, to develop a new version of DYKsug that doesn't leave so much junk on the nominations page (partly just to be tidier, partly to reduce the page's byte count and, hopefully, its load time). The new template is complete and located at NewDYKnomination (NewDYKnom also works). It is used in almost the exact same way as the current template (the only difference being that |creator= and |expander= have been merged into a single |writer= parameter, since there seems to have been confusion in the past about the difference between these two); there is more discussion of the new template at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Archive 39#New template for nominations--please provide feedback if you have a moment and Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Archive 39#Working on a better nomination template.

Since you do a lot of work vetting nominations, you are one of the people who will be most affected by the template change (although the effect shouldn't be very big...the main difference is just that this template is less complicated and the format will look a bit different), so I am hoping to hear your thoughts before I go ahead with making the switch from the current system to this one. The links I provided above have permalinks to examples of what the template will look like when used; you are also free to experiment with it in a sandbox.

Thank you, Politizer talk/contribs 15:54, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, sorry...the old examples are bad, since I have made a change since then. Here is a new, better example (and here is what it looks like in the edit window). Politizer talk/contribs 16:02, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I.P. 24.149.222.5 wrongfully blocked awhile back

 • Even though the I.P. in the title's block expired in December, I believe it was wrongful. The user of that I.P. was using a computer that shared the I.P. in a school zone, and tried to correct a mistake to the article Miracle on Evergreen Terrace, but that I.P. was blocked because he corrected a mistake. I highly suggest you try to apoligise to that I.P. for wrongfully blocking him... This was just my suggestion...--Tomballguy (talk) 00:16, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Chris[reply]

Deskie Deletion

Mr Case, I am writing to request that you might consider undeleting the 'Deskie' article, considering that while the page itself appears as blatent advertising, it was created in response to a request that all webtops in the comparison table of the Web Desktop article have an article to which they link. The comparison chart is intended to provide a thorough list of different webtops as per the article's discussion page, however the listing for Deskie has been removed due to its article's deletion.

If you feel that any particular material within the original posted article was more advertising than information, please remove this rather than the entire article in question.

Email contact

Hi. Over the years there have been a few things i wanted to discuss with you off-line. I'm not sure if you understood my previous request(s) or not, but i didn't ever see a way to email you and i didn't want to press if you preferred not to have off-line discussions. Above i note several others mentioning to check your email though, and I have one or two things to broach now. Do you have an email account that i could reach you at for wikipedia-related matters and how do I reach that? You could reply by email to me using the Email box at my own Userpage. Thanks, doncram (talk) 15:17, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I've only ever had a handful of occasions where i wanted to contact anyone else off-line and they had email-boxes. And, I was always perplexed that you did not respond in the previous occasions, but chalked it up to personal privacy preference which is fine. It just has always complicated how i experienced our other interactions, and i thot it was relevant for a super-admin type promotion. I wish you good luck with that. doncram (talk) 05:55, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NY in front

I was comparing the look of NY 52 and NY 55 to a featured article like NY 32 or NY 22. They use the "NY" pretty much throughout. My "lazy" comment wasn't a slap on anyone. I had an english teacher who called stuff like that lazy writing. Just a term I use. Sorry if it offended you. I also eliminated the squeeze my NY 32 image caused. --Airtuna08 (talk) 18:02, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I could start a discussion about it. I see your point with making it more readable for non-roadgeek people, but I also think, like when writing papers for school or something, that they should stick to a formal way of writing. What is the Wiki policy for contractions? I would find that to be similar to the issue here. People use contractions in their writing to make it more readable, but it isn't a formal way of writing. Interesting. They are good articles though, I never disputed that:p --Airtuna08 (talk) 18:35, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My comparison was based on that contractions help readability, so I thought it was a good one =). But I see your point, so again, sorry for stepping on your toes there. Guess its unavoidable sometimes when this is such a group effort. I remember the whole shields thing too. Pretty crazy.
By the way, where in upstate NY do you live? I live in Rockland County. I went to Albany for a Super Bowl party, but to show you how much of a geek I am, I left at 7am, so I could drive up Route 9 and take some pictures along the way. I ended up collecting over 200 or so from 9 and corresponding routes along the way. I really like the US 9 page you put together. The first thing I thought about was in Tarrytown where all those 9 shields exist at one place then I saw you had a pic of it already. That was pretty funny. I think you should try and get that to FA level? It seems close. --Airtuna08 (talk) 20:33, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I totally agree with you about shooting through the windshield when there's an opportunity to get out of the car. Some places you can't obviously, so thank god for a 4GB memory card so you can just snap away! You should have seen me going over the Dunn Memorial Bridge, haha. Some shots you get lucky and don't show the windshield blotches, but there were a lot I had to delete too. I'd just be embarrassed to post them. I think state-ends is a cool site, but a good number of their images are terrible. So if you can pull over and take a few shots, that's how they should be done.
I see what you're saying with shots of the route shields being redundant. I'm not a fan of extreme closeups of shields or when they are centered in the shot unless its unique (like a multiple junction, the Tarrytown 9 cluster, etc..), but I do like getting the shield in the shot somehow though. File:US6US202BearMountainBridge.jpg, File:NY301WesternTerminus.jpg are examples of what I like. I rather have the shield blend in with the shot than be the focal point. The scenic shots are cool too. Hope you get to make that North Country trip. It's funny because I used to travel to Plattsburgh all the time when my ex-girlfriend went to school there. Had that been now, I definitely would taken 9 the whole way. Well see you around the pages! --Airtuna08 (talk) 05:06, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Final resolution for the Mousesports page

Hello. I've been representing the esports industry on Wikipedia for quite some time now. I was a member of Nihilum and Mousesports for quite some time before I switched over and joined SK Gaming earlier this year. Part of representing the esports community involved defending the mouz page from deletion. I was over-aggressive but still had the deletion call nullified. However, the user that opposed me (The Red Pen of Doom) still had the page requested for merging. This has been done previously for other esports-related pages that were requested to be merged with other esports pages but have all been previously denied.

I know that my expired affiliation with Mousesports is obvious, but I would still appreciate to see the page without the threat of merge at the top, simply because I did the majority of the work on the page. My request to you as an accomplished administrator is for the page to be denied merging, (even after months of no progress), and for additional support in promoting the development of the mouz page. I added everything I could, but most of the news developed surrounding mouz is in german. If you could resolve this dispute and if you could inform TheRedPenOfDoom about your decision, I would greatly appreciate it. -DarthBotto talkcont 20:53, 09 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bahinabai: GA failure

How is Valentine day protests related to Bahinabai? I just could not understand your rationale. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:10, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bahinabai is a Varkari saint, Varkari faith has it's influence only on Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, to some extent. Her influence limited to these regions. Her philosophy is her legacy. Whether feminists like her? I don't know, because the references discussing Bahinabai, do not focus on this issue. Any way, why would someone who regretted her female birth, be a role model for feminists. I am going to WP:GAR. Please participate in the discussion to improve the article there. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:33, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the links, the criterion is "main aspects", not comprehensiveness. Any way the GAR is already started. So I think let it be open. A GAR will improve the article further. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:43, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also I have covered "Mary McGee describes with great insight and empathy the life and conflicts of Bahinabai, a seventeenth-century bhakta....." Not the from that book, but the content is covered. There may be thousands of books on Bahinabai, but all of them are dependent on her philosophy, which is covered in her an autobiographical work and verses, which are limited. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:54, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Unlike many of the woman-saints of the period, Bahinabai remains married her entire life, dutifully serving her husband, balancing her roles pativrata (a devoted wife) and virata (the detached)... Her poetry reflects her compromise between her devotion to her husband and her god Vithoba. " stri-dharma is "Duty of a (married) woman", which is same as pativrata. "a philosophy of living in the world without really being part of it," is same as being detached as well as having a married worldly life. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:02, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Through her married life, "dutifully serving her husband" she keeps his pativrata. Through her devotion to Vithoba, virata. Through her verses, we know it. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:07, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is not "posthumous regard". In Hinduism, unlike in Christianity, people become "saints", before death. Most (if not all) Varkari saints were saints in their lifetimes, just as Bahinabai. "while others considered it a mark of sainthood", "As her fame spread, her husband is portrayed to have been jealous of the attention Bahinabai receives." In Hinduism, when a being is venerated as a sint (s)he is always a saint. --Redtigerxyz Talk 06:21, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Daniel. Could you look at the unblock request at User talk:Prevenge please. His unblock justification appears valid in that Manganese would have shown an image of the pop musician Coolio due to vandalism of Template:Infobox manganese. However, I also noticed that although the user talk message said blocked for vandalism, the block log says this is a username block. Could you clarify the username issue (I'm afraid I'm notoriously unfamiliar with most current internet memes so often don't understand why some usernames are problematic until it is explained to me) and check whether there was an error. Oversight's effectiveness

Isn't it reasonable to say that if something has been up on Wikipedia for a while then oversighted later then it will be still up on Wikipedia mirror sites? On a tangential note- why do people have those "this page has been vandalised" userboxes on their user pages? Don't you find it just encourages the vandals more? Thanks --DFS454 (talk) 13:47, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thanks for clearing things up. I had always wondered why people had that userbox. I suspect the "X users have been blocked indefinitely for vandalizing this user's page" userbox would be far more effective. --DFS454 (talk) 16:44, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, It's the url is from a blacklisted site so it doesn't allow me to post, Below he speedy tag I have provided a google search that shows the site. I'll provide it like this wwwDOTfreerepublicDOTcom/~masti/ also. --DFS454 (talk) 18:58, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dick Clark Architecture

Hi, Dan. I just wanted to let you know that I unblocked that account solely for the purpose of allowing them to create a new account since I think the user is acting in good faith. I would never do an end run around a fellow admin over something like this, but I thought this was a special circumstance. I hope I haven't breached any etiquette and you should know that you always have my support in any decision you make. Thanks for understanding. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:18, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AIV followup - Ip User 80.2.15.1

Thanks for your recent block of 80.2.15.1 (talk · contribs · logs · block log) to prevent them from edit-warring on James H. Fetzer (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). Sadly, following the block expiry, they have removed all the warnings from their talk page and remade the edit you blocked them for previously. I have left a note on their talk page, urging them to self-revert the edit, but I'd appreciate it if you had time to look and see if any further admin action is warranted. Thanks in advance --RexxS (talk) 00:30, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Hudson

I know you're very much into the topic and would like help in what ever form, improving recent creation of Bear Mountain Inn. Potentially this could be merged, but given pending completion of renovation, could easily remain a separate article. As it stands is merely so-so. A significant building, certainly, in its own right......See also my recent work on Dunderberg Mountain and Bear Mountain Bridge for areas needing attention.

advice?

hi; i could use a little quite advice here.

i seem to have gotten into 2 different edit wars at the same time, neither one intentionally, & both rather stupid.

i'm having a fight with one user over the dab hatnotes on China & the History of China, both of which were overlong, clumsy, contained multiple extraneous links, & were using a template that disnt really fit all that well. have offered to discuss compromise wording, recieved a response on one of the talk pages, made adjustments accordingly, but one editor refuses to do anything but revert

the other fight is over the use of the term american as meaning a US citizen (on two actor bio pages). my interpretation of wikipolicy about pov is that internationally understood terms are preferred. since "american" is ambiguous, first usage should be country-specific. after that, i have no problem with using it.

i know it seems trivial, but try asking someone from latin america for their opinion of the subject. lol

could use any suggestions for a way to resolve these without bloodshed?

Lx 121 (talk) 09:05, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thanks, i think both problems have been resolved, to some degree anyway. i certainly hope they have.

Industrial metal GA review

Hi Daniel, could you give a new look at Industrial metal? I think that Aryder779 and I have dealt with the basic points you made regarding the article. By way, thanks for making this review happen. Musicaindustrial (talk) 09:54, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help! Musicaindustrial (talk) 13:21, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In reviewing the proposed hook for Wakabayashi, you noted: "Everything good, except he wasn't born in the camp." Actually, he was born in the camp. His family lived in Vancouver and was relocated to the Japanese Canadian internment camp at Slocan City, where his mother gave birth. The following quote from the "Little Mel" article should clear things up: "A year later, Hatsuye gave birth to her fourth child, Mel, in the barren camp. The government kept the Wakabayashis and the other Japanese-Canadians in the camp until the war ended." [9] I think his birth in an internment camp is a necessary part of the hook to show why his story is unusual and inspirational. If you could take a second look at this, I'd appreciate it. 20:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't want to step on your toes, but since they cited policy, I'm leaning towards unblocking them. Is there anything particularly disruptive you didn't mention in the block log? P.S. I advised them to write a note about the account's function to avoid further blocking so admins can clearly see the purpose of its existence. - Mgm|(talk) 11:39, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, since you're an active admin, could you make inter links for two words in the hook for Wonsam at Template:Did you know/Queue/2, such as robe and nobility? Thanks.--Caspian blue 15:48, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CSD category

Hi Daniel, I have a pretty spunky adoptee who has been talking about trying to suggest creating a new category for CSD. I agree with him for the most part and would like to hear your input. I'm not a huge speedy-deleter, so it's not really my place to advise. I would most likely send him to the CSD talk page to make his proposals. What do you think about his suggestions? ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 11:27, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question on Edit War

I see you commented on IPv6 and I was wondering what should be done in the case of an edit war between IPv6 and Harry the Dirty Dog. Both seem in good standing and a few of the reverted edits for IPv6 seem legit. Thanks for your thoughts e0steven(☎Talk|✍Contrib) 15:11, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, it appears it showed up on the Notice Board for Edit War. I was still wondering how to direct both editors to a neutral space if they seem unable to come to a compromise? Thanks again, e0steven(☎Talk|✍Contrib) 15:13, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for the guidance. I'm not trying to be an Admin or step into a dispute, but learning how things work is always a good thing I think. Thanks again! e0steven(☎Talk|✍Contrib) 15:17, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it's a play on my first / last name and what you mentioned. My name is Eric Stevens, so it follows [evenness of zero|0 is even]] and a play on 'even steven'. e0steven(☎Talk|✍Contrib) 15:30, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Soulfly article

Hey Daniel! I've been recently editing the article of Brazilian heavy metal band Soulfly, which was somewhat inept due to a gerenal lack of sources. Another Wikipedia editor, Prophaniti (talk), has changed music genres in the Infobox based on an ultimately unreliable source, The Metal Observer. Now, I've had a nasty run-in with this editor and his friend Landon1980 (talk) in the past due to some editing on the now deleted Metal Observer article. I'm not asking for you to get directly involved but to check, now and then, the talk page of Soulfly article, as an admin uninvolved with the editing process. I am under the impression that we'll see sparks flying in a near future, and I'd like some with more experience in Wikipedia matters to intervene in case this gets out of hand. Musicaindustrial (talk) 10:13, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've translated this article into the German WP but I ad problems in understanding in the following passage:

It also has the unusual distinction of being a river that drains into a creek, due to being impounded shortly before the Rondout confluence into a small body of water called Sturgeon Pool near Rifton, and what reaches the Rondout from there is the lesser flow.

Could you please clarify that? --Matthiasb (talk) 13:23, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. It's a good article. Are you involved with the Troy historic district?Historicist (talk) 17:20, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it is a nice article. And you are entirely correct about the synagogue. Tt is architecturally notable and should be listed on the Natinoal Register. I suspect that it lacks a constituency, since some less notable synagogues are listed. However, it has been neglected by architectural historians. sometimes buildings in second-tier cities get forgotten.Historicist (talk) 17:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2,352 Gemstone Images not worth being added as a link?

Hi Daniel, you could be the one who might ask the Wiki.en gentlemen to whitelist my URL www.realgems.org. Since December 2008 Vsmith & Co. (USA) have deleted all my external links so that all gemstone-interested Wiki users worldwide (! - except Germany) cannot find my collection of faceted gemstones (and their rough versions) any more... From July 2008 until December 2008 all my link additions (to my own, educational and non-profit website) were not regarded as spam!!!

Since a few days I have followed the instruction of an English Wiki admin to create something worthy for Wikipedia so that my URL can be whitelisted again. So I created these articles on German Wiki BECAUSE GERMAN WIKI HAS WHITELISTED MY URL BECAUSE THEY HAVE SEEN THAT MY COLLECTION OF MORE THAN 2000 IMAGES IS WORTH BEING LINKED AT WIKIPEDIA: Tugtupite, Jeremejevite, Benitoite and added some data to Red Beryl. What else can I do to reach a worldwide whitelisting?

Kind regards, Mike / Realgems.org F.N. Berg (talk) 20:37, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daniel Case
Need your intervention with restraining User Tigeroo who has again begun wholesale deletions of referenced content with citations .
Here are three specific instances in one single day from the same article

Tigeroo cites Wikipedia rules to corrupt the spirit of these rules ,I have tried really..really hard earlier as well to reason with him ...see Talk:Muhammad bin Qasim but to no avail .
