Feedback concerning language use

Please show other editors the basic courtesy of communicating with them in English. Txt speak and simplified spelling are not appropriate on Wikipedia; this applies to talk pages [1], user talk pages [2] and edit summaries [3], all of which are means to communicate with others, not ways to express our own individuality. Communicating in a way that excludes people who don't understand the abbreviations is counterproductive, and especially on article talk pages but also user talk pages, you can't know that all the people who will need to read and follow the conversation are fluent in txtspeak, or capable of interpreting, say, "wut" as "what". Your other contributions show that you are obviously capable of using standard English. It would be courteous if you would stick to that variety everywhere on Wikipedia - the only possible exception might be if you are conversing with somebody who has said explicitly that they think it's acceptable, on their talk page or yours, but it might not be OK even then. Thank you very much! --bonadea contributions talk 12:12, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OOOOPS wut did i do this time.... i will try not to do that so much, but that's how i like to talk (becos it is how we talk where i am from), but I can talk normal if i have to. thx.--Bad edits r dumb (talk) 12:14, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
on a side note, one time i travel to all the foreign countries where they speak english and even the people who do not speak english very well they know all the text speak and when they send me I.M. "wat do u want" instead of "What do you want?" becos they are cool. this does not matter very much, but it is interesting, in my opinions. It means that everybody likes to talk to that, and they love it.--Bad edits r dumb (talk) 12:17, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Note

Okay, I've seen your edit to Bonadea's talkpage. You've shown you're capable of using normal language. Please do so from now on. DS (talk) 17:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

i understand why u say wut u say (because we try to look like a professional encylcopedia and things like this), but i am doing a better job and i always use the warning templates and i try to not use slang when i talk to new user. i can talk in proper english, but if i do it ALL THE TIME it is very hard and mostly i like to use a bit of internet slang on my own talk page and when i talk to ppl i know. also i would never put slang in the articles.--Bad edits r dumb (talk) 18:29, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That is not the point. You are are now demonstrating full and willful disregard for complying with policies AND with norms of contributing constructively to Wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia, not your playground or research laboratory. Your behavior can be defined as nothing other than disruptive.   Thorncrag  19:49, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
