:I hope you know what a personal attack is. It is a deliberate personal insult which by the fact neither me or Jodon1971 have made well atleast not while you were reported. Apart from that if you really are innocent why have atleast 2 users mentioned about your behavior. If and that is if you really have an "attitude" then I request you to please just let go of it. It's not right to insult other people. Apart from that the I hope you can understand. [[User:KahnJohn27|KahnJohn27]] ([[User talk:KahnJohn27|talk]]) 23:08, 16 April 2013 (UTC) |

No bother whatsoever
The MO of that anon vandal seems similar to Bambifan, but that IP resolves to Michigan. Bambi does the majority of his nonsense from Alabama. However, if you even so much as think you smell this guy, please let me know. His destruction and damage is nearly incaluculable. Thanks for letting me know and believe me, asking about something like this is not a bother. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- You bet; it was a pleasure hearing from you. You may find this page helpful in regards to Bambifan. The precious little darling has his very own long-term abuse page. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:51, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

As soon as you can, go to here to discuss the disruptive behavior by KahnJohn27. BattleshipMan (talk) 23:11, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
You too!
Thank you for the link! Great cast, BBC(1986) — I shall add it to my LOVEFiLM rental list.
Hope Sunday is a happy day for you! –

- It really is a wonderful cast. Local Hero is one of my all time favorite films. Dead Head was the first thing (not counting the Star Wars films) that I saw Denis Lawson in after that and it confirmed my feeling that he is a marvelous actor. Amazon UK mailed my copy out yesterday and it usually takes 8 to 12 days to get to me so I will just have to be patient and edit here to fill up the time :-) MarnetteD | Talk 08:58, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Not yet available to rent ... hope they make it so ASAP. I liked him in this too. –
– Gareth Griffith-Jones |The Welsh Buzzard| 09:09, 14 April 2013 (UTC)- That series never aired over here but I am fairly sure that I saw it in one of the DVD catalogs that I get so I will have to track down a copy. Pauline Collins has been so good in so many things over the years. I still have an affection for the work that she did with hubby John Alderton in things like No, Honestly and Wodehouse Playhouse. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 10:07, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Just got the Jonathon Creek DVD ordered. It doesn't come out until next month but I am looking forward to it. MarnetteD | Talk 04:01, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- I am sure you will enjoy it. Davies is often underestimated over here — no doubt due to his excellent performance as the only permanent panel member on QI ("quite interesting").
You are clearly a BBC fan, like me. I only watch the four main 'beeb' channels and BBC-News ... never any of the numerous commercial stations, much to the irritation of my wife.
Correction: World Cup 2011 in New Zealand was covered by ITV. So that was an exception to the rule! Cheers! –
– Gareth Griffith-Jones |The Welsh Buzzard| 09:16, 15 April 2013 (UTC)- You've been missing Broadchurch then, plenty of DW-related cast and crew. David Tennant, Olivia Colman (The Eleventh Hour) and Arthur Darvill in every episode; most episodes written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Euros Lyn; more besides. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:52, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Redrose!
I know ... obviously used to watch ITV for Morse and The Sweeney, but since the relaxation on advertising intrusion I just become so irritated with the more frequent and much longer interruptions that the enjoyment becomes less and less. I should have added to my remark above,"live TV", of course now that I have a brand-new TiVo box courtesy of Virgin since February 26.
Just checked this out and I can catch up all five episodes. Many thanks Redrose for pointing out the series to me.
Michael – I read that BBC America has bought the series for later showing this year!
– Gareth Griffith-Jones |The Welsh Buzzard| 11:26, 15 April 2013 (UTC)- I don't watch ITV in real time anymore. I have a Humax PVR-9300T; and once the prog starts, I hit "pause" and go and do something else. After 15-20 minutes, I can go back and hit "play" on the Humax box, and fast-forward through the breaks: eight presses of the button advances it four minutes, which is the length of a typical ITV or C4 break. --Redrose64 (talk) 11:49, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, the TiVo can take me back to when I started watching the programme too. Also I am able to record two channels simultaneously whilst watching a third on either live TV or On Demand, or record three channels AND watch a programme that I have previously recorded. Ha! The only difficulty is that there are never enough hours available in any day to watch more than a fraction of what you would like to –

See what I miss by being 7 hours into your past :-) That being able to fast forward/skip through commercial is a joy. I know the technology will out pace them in the next few years but I do still get shows I want to see more than once on DVDs. Endeavor is being released next month and "no commercial breaks", "no annoying stuff at the bottom or the side of the episode" added to the fact that there is no knowing when the series will air on PBS or BBCA are all big pluses. Thanks so much for letting me know about Broadchurch. I will be keeping my eye open for it. Cheers to you both. MarnetteD | Talk 15:10, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- We got Endeavour series 1 episode 1 ("Girl") at 20:00 (BST) yesterday - on ITV, which means that Gareth Griffith-Jones missed that one too. It was 2 hours as broadcast, including the breaks. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:53, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
- Fair point, but with it being available for 28 days on itvPLAYER (whereas BBC iPlayer only allows 7 days) I can still watch it and not even have to fast-forward because the commercials are omitted from the catch up service. Makes you wonder though how advertisers will put up with their costly creations being avoided by viewers whenever possible and how the commercial TV companies will survive –
– Gareth Griffith-Jones |The Welsh Buzzard| 21:33, 15 April 2013 (UTC)- I hope that you both have seen - or will get to see - the pilot episode of this series from January of last year. Shaun Evans recreated some of John Thaw's physical quirks in subtle manner that is quite marvelous. There were several other references to the original series and the tribute that comes right at the end - well all I can say is I did choke up a little when I saw it. As to the advertiser lets say "let them eat static" HeeHee. MarnetteD | Talk 21:52, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

A favour/olive branch
Hey, MarnetteD. A user, Jodon1971, recently contacted me - they spoke of an interaction with you that left a bad taste in their mouth. If my memory serves me correctly, this edit summary - along with your dispute on the A Clockwork Orange talk page - rubbed them the wrong way.
If you wouldn't mind, would you be able to drop a message off at Jodon's talk page? Doesn't have to be anything fancy. I'm not saying you did anything wrong, as, from where I'm standing, this seems like a simple difference of opinions and a misinterpreted figure of speech, but I'd really appreciate the goodwill gesture if it's possible.
If not, you're by no means obligated to do this. I just figured I'd ask. Regards, m.o.p 07:19, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- While I understand and acknowledge your concerns I am saddened that this is the first post that you have made on my page about this situation. Did you take the time to read the post that Jodon made on my talk page. If not please take a moment and do so now [1]. You will note the first word in the attack has to do with feces from a bovine species yet I am the one who is supposed to apologize? How does that even make sense? Under the circomstances some might say that my edit summary was restrained. Next, while I have remained silent on the number of WP:NPA violations that have gone on at this thread User talk:Jodon1971#Reportedabout MarnetteD, it should be noted that it includes Jodon's statement
As regards MarnetteD, I've only had a brief incident on one article talk page, hardly a solid case. I just picked up on her "attitude" to you on her talk page and equated it with my own experience, and wasn't happy that she wasn't giving due consideration to less experienced users. This is a character flaw that neither she nor her "wiki" friends seem to acknowledge. I said an apology from her to me would go a long way, especially if it was genuine and not condescending, and I would certainly forgive her iniquities and believe that she had some redeeming qualities. However I don't expect that to happen, and won't get too worked up over it. Such is life, or more to the point, such is Wikipedia. Having said that, I do have some reservations about this "community", but we'll keep that discussion for another time.
- First who are these "wiki friends" and the smear about "flaws" comes with no examples. Next, Jodon had obviously not done any investigation as to what was going on with KahnJohn. By this point several of the items that I had summarized here [2] had occurred. Due to K's treating Wikipedia as a WP:BATTLEGROUND I had chosen to cease communicating with K on my talk page. Then Jodon shows up to "stick their oar in" and "stir the hornets nest" - I hope that these metaphors are acceptable. So any "picking up on my attitude" is misinformed at the very least. Based on your assessment that "I did not do anything wrong" and Jodon's "I don't expect that to happen" I must say that I do not feel the need to be "forgiven my iniquities" at this moment in time. MarnetteD | Talk 12:56, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- Now to the matter at hand. I admire your attempts to mediate the situation over using BOM and BO as a reference. I also appreciate your attempts to help KahnJohn understand what is going on at ANI. Unfortunately, as you read today's posts at ANI here [3] and here [4] along with the post on your talk page [5] I don't see any hope that K will drop the WP:STICK The threads at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film#Which box office number site that should be use for references, Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#Box Office Mojo and Boxoffice.com contain WP:PAs against several editors. Then the threads on on Jodon's and your talk page, along with this one User talk:BattleshipMan#MarnetteD all contain personal attacks directed at me. If you take all of these into account I hope that you will have some understanding of the restraint that I have shown in the situation. There are other Wikipedian's who would not have put up with it. MarnetteD | Talk 12:56, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- In regards to the post you mention - there's no personal attack in there, just the words of a frustrated editor. This is common in all content disputes. Also, Jodon has also acknowledged he said a few rash things, most likely due to the negative encounter he had with yourself. However, he's also taken offence at some things you said. I hoped it would be easiest if you just mentioned on his talk page that you didn't mean to imply he was an insect or something to a similar effect. Again, not mandatory, but making a small apology can mean a lot. You're not required to do anything else, and, as I said above, you're not conceding any points or anything - just trying to clear up the waters.
- As for KahnJohn, he's actually come up with (what I see) as a reasonable proposition at the RS noticeboard, where you're welcome to chime in. I've already advised him not to continue looking for fights or jumping at every small thing someone says to him.
- I do, of course, appreciate that you've shown restraint. And I am very thankful for your contributions to Wikipedia. At the end of the day, after all the drama, we're still building a better enyclopedia, no matter how frustrating it may be sometimes.
- Again, if you could talk to Jodon, I'd be grateful. I understand you don't see the need to, and you're within your rights to feel it isn't necessary. So I'll leave the decision up to you and I won't push it any further. Remember to come by the RS noticeboard if you're up to it. Best, m.o.p 16:57, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- I still don't see how an editor who starts their post with a variation of one of George Carlin's seven dirty words has the right to feel offended by anything in my edit summary. It is not possible to misinterpret the figure of speech that Jodon used. Let's get things in the proper order. If you can convince Jodon to apologize for intruding into a conversation that was not J's concern and for the foul language I will be happy to retract my edit summary. MarnetteD | Talk 17:18, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- As to K. I can well understand your avoiding doing anything about the ceaseless personal attacks. I wouldn't want them turned on you or any other editors either. I fear that your actions will do nothing but enable future problems, but time will tell. MarnetteD | Talk 17:18, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'll speak with Jodon, then.
- In KahnJohn's case, I've told him not to engage others anymore, multiple times. If it happens again, I'll deal with it accordingly. I'll tell you the same thing I told him; if he says something you take issue with, just let me know. Don't bother replying. I'll do everything I can on my end to insure that nobody is getting the short end of the stick. m.o.p 17:55, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Sounds good. You are certainly going above and beyond with your efforts. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 17:57, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

- Many thanks. Interesting that they have scheduled things for 2013 and 15. I will have to search and see if some website streams the games live so that I can see more of them. Looks like 2015 will be a fun year since England will be hosting the World Cup in Sept and Oct with some games being held in Cardiff! Now if we can just get the lotto ping pong balls to come up the right way I can come and see some games live :-) MarnetteD | Talk 16:34, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
