UCSC is in Santa Cruz County which is on the central coast, not Southern California.
Gaobowen (talk) 13:20, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- Done. I removed the sentence, since it wasn't about Chris Hardwick anyway. -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:24, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Nerdist?
Why is there practically no reference to Chris's website, Nerdist.com? Kouban (talk) 00:01, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

{{editsemiprotected}} Chris Hardwick said on Sirius XM's Opie & Anthony Show August 12, 2010, that he was named after American sportscaster Chris Schenkel, who was the ABC announcer for the Professional Bowlers Association for 36 years. Hardwick is the son of former professional bowler Billy Hardwick. Chris told a story of when his mother was once speaking about the pregnancy with Schenkel about the family was expecting a girl. Schenkel said if it is a boy name it Christopher and the mother said OK. Obviously it was a boy, thus the name Chris.
Titans773 (talk) 21:02, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- It is always tricky to reference a radio broadcast, because often they cannot be checked later; however, I managed to find the basic fact that he was named after Chris Schenkel in a published magazine item that Hardwick wrote in Wired, here, so I added that to the 'personal life' section. I hope that is OK. Chzz ► 22:00, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Done
Problem with a link?
I just had a friend message me (since I know about Wikipedia and she doesn't) saying that she clicked on the Nerdist link and got a mess of malware. I'm on a Mac, so I can't verify this, but is there any sort of process or check one can do? EVula // talk // ☯ // 22:13, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Tennessee high school

- Thanks- it looks like Hardwick is mentioned at Saint Benedict at Auburndale, but it'd be nice to have a reliable source indicating it is true. (the facebook link is just a mirror of Wikipedia) tedder (talk) 15:19, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

please change "Christopher Ryan 'Chris' Hardwick" to either "Christopher Ryan 'Big C' Hardwick" or "Christopher Ryan 'Chris' Hardwick aka "Big C" due to his recent appellation with said nickname during a "hostful" episode of the Nerdist podcast. alternatively, in keeping with his insistence that "Big C" is a euphemism for cancer, change his listed name to "Christopher Ryan "Cancer" Hardwick"
173.61.55.128 (talk) 00:42, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- There are no reliable sources calling him "Big C" or "Cancer". It's a nickname he doesn't especially like that was coined in a podcast. This is aimed at articles but is appropriate in this context too- Wikipedia is not for things made up one day. tedder (talk) 00:46, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Concur with Tedder--this needs a reliable source, not a podcast. I'm marking this as answered. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:18, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

- I do not see what your obsession with Felicia Day has to do with this discussion. I have spent many hours starring into the pictures of Mr. Hardwick and Mr. Paul and I still have HARD time telling which is which until I flip the photos over and see which name I've written on them. I do not care to say how many times I've had passionate conversations about their possible doppelgangerhood with reporters and newsboys from the NYT.
