Pete Burns, (born August 5 1959, Port Sunlight, England), is a singer/songwriter and the former frontman of the New Wave band Dead or Alive, most famous for their #1 single You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) in 1985. He is a well known exponent of Facial Augmentation.

Before moving onto Dead or Alive, Pete was a member of Nightmares in Wax, an early proto-Goth group that formed in Liverpool around 1980. Nightmares in Wax had only one album.

Known for his flamboyant style, Burns shocked audiences in the 1980s with his androgynous or feminine dress, exotic hairstyles and heavy make-up (although he maintains that he is not a transvestite, but feels more comfortable in womens' clothes). Almost as much as his career with Dead or Alive, Burns is known for his ever-changing appearance, which he freely admits has been modified by cosmetic surgery. Burns has had extensive collagen injections in his lips, along with cheek implants and nose jobs. He revealed in early 2006 he had spent almost all of his life savings on 18 months of reconstructive surgery.

In December 2003, the BBC apologised to its viewers after Burns swore repeatedly on its Liquid News show when asked about the Michael Jackson case, leading presenters to apologise profusely to viewers (the show was aired at 8pm) Source: [1].

Burns divorced his wife in 2004 after over twenty years of marriage. In the same year, he enjoyed a minor club hit in the form of the Pet Shop Boys produced single Jack and Jill Party. Although the single was only available through the Pet Shop Boys own website, it did reach #75 in the UK singles chart and received considerable club play.

Burns is currently appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.
