Hugo Kaulen, Sr. (October 28, 1869 - July 9, 1954) was a pioneering German balloonist.

Biography

He was born on October 28, 1869 in Ronsdorf. He had a son, Dr. Hugo Kaulen. Jr.[1]

On December 13, 1913 through December 17, 1913 he stayed aloft for 87 hours.[2] His record lasted until 1976. He died on July 9, 1954 in Wuppertal.[2]
