Middlesex County is served by major interstate highways, including US 1, I-295, I-287, the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) and Garden State Parkway.

By train

New Jersey Transit provides service to New Brunswick, Edison, Metuchen, and Woodbridge on the Northeast Corridor, and to South Amboy, Perth Amboy, and Woodbridge on the North Jersey Coast Line. Amtrak intercity trains are available at New Brunswick Station and Metropark Station in Woodbridge.
