Ganeshk (talk · contribs) I plan to run for RFA some time in the future. I wanted to know others think about me and find out if there is anything I need to improve upon. Thanks.

I am archiving this page. Thanks for all the advice. I found this process very helpful and hope to work on the suggestions. Thanks, Ganeshk (talk) 18:11, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

  • Very valuable contributer, especially to Indian articles. Also very helpful.  Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 21:25, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • A polite and civil user, contributing notable expansions to Indian news, cricket and religious and historical content, adhering to NPOV. Was on my RfA list at User:Blnguyen/RfA prior to me stumbling across this Editor Review. Is also trying to create new initiatives for WP by using his professional computing skills to write a bot to do India geography stubs. Is very much qualified to be an admin.ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! - review me 07:33, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Great guy, helps a lot with India articles and is an integral part of the Indian Wikipedia Community. Also the new bot looks good. Definitely someone who deserved Adminship. Nobleeagle (Talk) 07:46, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • One of the first wikipedians I came across and one of my role-models. Very dedicated to wikipedia. Will be a great admin. - Aksi_great (talk) 17:27, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think you should improve your user:talk and talkpage interactions more - they are only marginally higher than edits to your own userpage. Plus, adminship candidates should usually have a background in janitorial work. But you're naturally a great user and potential candidate. Keep up the great work. • Reviewed your contribs. You're doing great. Your civility is a strength. -- Samir   (the scope) धर्म 07:48, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh yes, he does lot of janitorial work that doesn't require the mop. And he is high on my list of potential nominees for an RfA. --Gurubrahma
  • I feel Ganesh needs to get a little more involved with the community. His talk space and wikipedia edits are on the lower side. A good way to get noticed would be to participate on RFAs & RFA talk, VP, AFD, PR and FAC. Once he gets the bot up and running, it should enhance his portfolio. =Nichalp «Talk»= 16:36, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

  1. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I put major effort in Machilipatnam when I started here. If I had written it today, I would have made much lesser number of edits. I keep the Indian current events and news section of the India portal updated. I also maintain Indian COTW and Politics of India projects.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes. I was in edit conflict in IIPM article in my early days at Wikipedia. At one point I violated the 3 revert rule. I was trying to keep the article together when some anon kept removing controversial sections. Nowadays I stay below the 3 reverts and try to get consensus.
  3. What do you think you bring to the Wikipedia community as a unique editor? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:08, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for asking. I help out creating templates for projects and articles. Template:Infobox_Cricket_series_begin is an example. I am in the process of writing a bot that will create Indian town articles. I have a good knowledge of wikipedia policies like WP:V, WP:NPOV and WP:NOR.
