Oh, please. Have you even *read* Ecce Homo? How can you possibly claim that passages like this, are not, at least to some extent, written in an urgent and/or apocalyptic tone:

I agree that RfA instructions are a bit clearer, but not so much. Many users use that same argument ("all the other pages list downwards"), but if you had read the instructions till the end (the real end), you would have seen it ;). Just a tip in case you didn't know: You won't have to copy & paste the whole thing every time you welcome a new user. I did a bit of work on it. Now the MyNameIsNotBob/bigarchive variable will be subst:ed at runtime, and will thus 1) not appear as a variable when the talk page is edited, and 2) not change if the talk page is archived. Also I linked the article name. The new syntax for use is:

Your welcome template

Biting Newcomers

I will acknowledge that I have become less tolerant of vandalism. I am approaching 3,000 articles on my watchlist, and I take my "job" watching over these pages seriously. For months, I have just reverted changes and left the task of fighting vandalism to others. As I have seen more and more vandalism as my watchlist grew, I realized that I had to take responsibility for warning vandals on articles I have worked on. While you may have caught one of the edits that this new user made that wasn't too offensive, take a look at this other edit, which should offend even the most vandalism-tolerant among us. This seems to be part of a trend where users vandalize a page and then remove the vandalism, often as part of a two-edit sequence, but often a chain of three or more edits. Even if the article remains as it was after the edit sequence, these changes are vandalism, and the edits made by User:Hunthearin clearly fall into that category. Alansohn 12:28, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Administrator Coaching The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service. This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins. The Creation SDA Church

The SDA Church sues any renegade SDA group that has influence if they are using the SDA trademark name. The Creation SDA Church was threatened with a lawsuit but the General Conference obviously found out that Walter McGill, a.k.a. "Pastor Chick" is just a fraud with a huge web presence. I've talked with "Pastor Chick" on the phone years ago and know that he represents himself and doesn't own or rent a church building.

Will try to have a shot at referencing the Seventh-day Adventist Church page sometime soon, I am also of the opinion the page may need restructuring and a bit of expansion, maybe. The entry appeared at the top of my Watchlist as I went to refresh it so I thought I should come and congratulate you and hopefully get (us both) motivated to work on another part of the big picture. :) A proposed structure to change to would be good, but I think that referencing what is there may be more timely than trying to develop an entirely new set of material from scratch and then getting references, or getting them as we go maybe. The two big problems with the article as I see it at the moment are, one, it is poorly referenced (a fact we can all agree on). The second problem is that it is excessively unbalanced, and it has nothing about the "investigative judgment", one of the main differing beliefs of the Adventist church.

As for referencing, Light Bearers will help with the origins section, but not much else. Seventh-day Adventists Believe is a good reference for the Beliefs section but not comprehensive (an official publication doesn't deal with reactions/attitudes, if you follow my drift), a textbook of some sort may be useful. Light bearers actually goes into quite a lot of reasons and a progression through the major defining issues, lets face it, the church hasn't had that many defining issues between 1920 and now (okay, there are a few). A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

G'day Not-Bob - I mean, Adrian,

thanks for your message. As a general rule, we let anybody edit Wikipedia — and there's no reason why a company employee can't contribute good edits to an article about that company. Admittedly, they often find it difficult and tend to bias the article a little if they aren't careful. In this case, I'd suggest you just keep on doing what you've been doing: keep a close eye on the article, in case employees make inappropriate edits, and revert if necessary, but if they make good edits, let 'em stand. A-League 2006-07 Newsletter I

Introduction The first ever Wikiproject A-League newsletter is here! The 2006-07 A-League season will bring the usual enjoyment and fanaticism that only football/soccer can create. This new season also means a lot of (currently-open) tasks that require completion throughout the course of the next 21 weeks. Position Ladder A Position Ladder will be placed on each team page, which will provide an up-to-date visualization of the current A-League standings. However, problems may occur when Position Ladders aren't updated with the new statistics that don't involve matches of the team whose page the Position Ladder resides on. To remedy this, a base Position Ladder will be created, which will be located at {{2006-07 A-League Position Ladder}} (link). Please update this as soon as possible after the match has ended, as this will keep the Wikipedia community informed. A few notes regarding the base Position Ladder:- Please do not substitute the Position Ladder template on the team pages, as it won’t get automatically updated if you do. Please only update the Position Ladder at the end of a match, and if there is any large dispute about the result, do not add it, but instead wait for an official report by the A-League confirming the result. When updating, make sure to adjust all of the below fields:- The played field – add one (eg. 13→14 etc.) Either the win, loss or draw field, depending on the result for that team. The points field – either add 3 points (win), 1 point (draw) or leave the same (loss) The for and the against section Make sure you repeat this process for both teams – not just the team you follow!

Summary Tables Each team page will have a Summary Table added to it, which will provide an at-a-glance look at the results of the team throughout the season. August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential! What's New? In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs. To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Thanks for your welcoming message - but I did not quite understand it. I see that you removed my attempt to place the discussion about criticisms and responses in a less dichotomous context, and your note suggests I more closely observe NPOV, but I would appreciate understanding what aspects of my comment you saw as POV. I gladly submit to the better wisdom of the group on how to communicate this, but I think it is important to include in the article the fact that there is a variety of views of EGW and her visions both within the SDA membership and within the academic community. As currently written the article gives the impressions that all members who value EGW reject all criticisms, which is simply inaccurate.

I apologize if I did not sign my comments on the discussion page for EGW - I thought that I had.

Thanks for your response. I have not yet mastered the finer points of wiki editing. I noted that I had not properly referenced my contribution in my discussion post and provided the reference information hoping someone else could do it before I figured out how.

I note now that someone has reverted my edit, and the EGW article again has the Rea book coming before the Numbers book. This is clearly an error. Whoever reverted this did not explain the action, so I don't understand why they did it. When I have time I will see if I can fix it, but you might want to look into it.

WikiProject A-League Newsletter Issue II – September 2006
Current Player project status 10% complete
A-League News The 2006-07 A-League season is now two rounds old, with the early front-runners being Queensland Roar and Melbourne Victory. Adelaide United won the Pre-Season Cup, defeating Central Coast Mariners 5-4 on penalties. Project News The Player project has been moved, overhauled and refined. It now is not limited to the 2005-06 player list. However, only 10% of articles are considered "complete", and hopefully we can get this figure to approach 100% by the end of the season. Major changes to the layout of the 2006-07 A-League season page have taken place recently, and an infobox created. A table for attendances, as well as top scorer etc. are now in place. All users are encouraged to update the scores for completed matches as they come in. Recently, Perth Glory F.C. was moved to Perth Glory FC after no objections were raised at the Wikiproject talk page. All links to the old page (including various templates) were changed. The project requires pictures of games and stadiums to help improve articles. Any pictures are much appreciated. The A-League Portal has been set up. Feel free to update the scores, and make sure you check out the selected article and picture each fortnight. The football (soccer) barnstar has recently became the official award of the Wikiproject. Feel free to hand it out to anyone you see making excellent contributions to all things A-League related. Since the last newsletter was distributed (on August 5, 2006), four new members have graced our ever-growing list: Wantok (talk · contribs), Ronan.evans (talk · contribs), Tiefighter (talk · contribs) and Mattythewhite (talk · contribs).
