Originally, the notation article you deleted was at N5?? I moved it, see the dis-ambiguation page's history for when. Then, I made the dis-ambiguation page, and then the notation article was removed. Isn't this unusual in Wikipedia?? Georgia guy

Linking dates

The MoS is wrong. If you don't link dates, they don't show up properly according to the preferences each user sets, such as one person may want to see it as April 12, but I have mine set so I see it as 12 April, for example. Ardenn 18:32, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Good article? Poss. featured?

Hello! As a Wikipedia admin, and an experienced user of the encyclopedia, I was wondering if you would give your opinion regarding the NPA Personality Theory article. Its author and myself have discussed the possibilities for what is now very much a complete article. Reading the "Good" article criteria, one can see that the article meets all of the criteria required. If you share this view then adding the "Good" article tab and perhaps giving some advice as to further improvement would be very much appreciated. Area codes

Actually, I created redirects at all the single stand-alone area code titles, so, for example, both Area code 905 and Area code 289 exist as redirects to the Area code 905/289 title. Basically my reasoning was so that when one looks at Category:Area codes in Canada, one can see all the active area codes in Canada, instead of some being visible as titles and others existing only as hidden redirects. (Although, for what it's worth, I might have done it differently if I'd known what I know now, namely that it is possible to put a category link on a redirect page, and it will still function correctly as both a redirect and a title in the category.)

I'd be open to discussing other ways to handle them, but that was my reasoning and the single-code titles already do all exist as redirects. Bearcat 18:30, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

I thought it was still normal for us to use "Township" in the title if there was still a disambiguation requirement (such as Baldwin or Robinson, where there are submunicipal communities elsewhere in the province with the same name). If that's wrong, my apologies, but there are still quite a few cases at Category:Townships of Ontario (which, in retrospect, should also maybe be moved to "in Ontario") where "Township" is present in the title. A one sentance article like your Laskay page (and others) can hardly even be called a stub. You might want to think about giving someone else a chance at starting an article. Someone who actually has more then a sentance of information. I dont think its fair to other editors who go out and do research only to findout that the article has already been started by someone who has done absolutly none. If this isn't a contest about who starts articles, then what does it matter which stubs I create? In this case, I created stubs for all articles pertaining to the township of King, and I've been slowly adding content to them. It doesn't appear that anyone has rushed to add any content to these articles since they were created, does it? And as far as research is concerned, the only information I add to articles is that which I've researched - I spend a great deal of time finding information and contributing it to Wikipedia. Also, note that a quick perusal of an article's history, and obtaining diffs between versions, tells you exactly what content was contributed by whom, so it's not as if the article's creator is taking undue credit. South Gwillimbury

I have never heard of South Gwillimbury. I've seen a lot of old maps of this area as well, though more interested in York County than Simcoe. I agree that it appears they have mistaken attached the South reference from Simcoe County to West Gwillimbury. Geography

Either way is fine. The trend in geographical entries has been comma seperated text. We just moved all the New York City entries for neighborhoods to comma seperated, it was 50-50 between the two standards. We kept the parenthetical info as a redirect. Anyway most of the cemeteries I added, have been deleted.

Hi, I was wondering why you named the article this way. According to StatsCan, the township is called Dysart and Others, whereas according to Ontario GeoNames, it's called Dysart. I was wondering why Wikipedia calls the <Village of Haliburton> the <Town of Haliburton> when there is nothing to suggest, not even a Highway sign, that Haliburton, was ever a town.

On the other hand Wikipedia Users have shown Lake of Bays as a Township in the Muskoka District Municipality, however Lake of Bays is a body of water within the Township of Lake of Bays, which incidently is in the District Municipality of Muskoka (official title). I thought of correcting that too, however, it would likely be easier to find in Wikipedia if the word Muskoka came first.

Furthermore you probably know I can't spell worth a shit, but researching history is NOT a matter of CUT and PASTE. I find it amazing, the number people i.e. Wiki Users contributing to Head River (Ontario) Head Lake (Ontario) and Black River (Ontario) think that the Black river flows into Lake Couchiching which it does not!

I posted the article on Dysart et al, Ontario as an addition to the article on Canadian Land and Emigration Company which contains a Wiki Link to Longford, Ontario yet I have not completed the link to Longford Mills, Ontario and Rama Timber Transport Company, for which I have also had to make alterations to Ramara, Ontario.

Latley I have been fixing things in Northern Ontario Nakina, Ontario and Grant, Ontario. Everything in history is connected and if it is not, did it really happen?

How do I establish a page for the CNR divisional point: Armstrong, Ontario, without disturbing the page for Armstrong Township, Ontario, now shown as Armstrong, Ontario? Armstrong, Ontario, the village was a divisional point on the National Transcontinental Railway, like Cochrane, Hearst, Grant and Sioux Lookout and this Armstrong requires a page of its own to link with these pages.

Ritual of the Calling of the Engineer Stamp image

Regarding the stamp image, I don't have one without the flash - obviously if I had one I would have posted that. The exhibit was protected by a pane of glass, and while I was taking the picture I tried to minimize the strobe by placing it in an non-essential location. It's not like I had a tripod handy at the museum you know.

By the way, there is a zoomed version here, which had its strobe cropped out: 250px|left

Hello again MM! Thanks for changing 'Kleinberg' to a redirect. New item (at least, one that I've just noticed)......there are several categories entitled, for instance, List of mayors of Markham, Ontario They are gathered together in Category:Mayors of places in Ontario, and in my 'umble opinion they should be subcategories entitled "Mayors of XXXXX, Ontario", rather than 'Lists of Mayors of.....' as they now are. On the first of January, 2006, you deleted an article titled Stargate Wars (see here for deletion log). Please note that I am not messaging you in order to argue for/against the deletion. Price comparison links

I noticed that you removed my edits that added compare prices linke for a number of Canon cameras. I'm not clear why this isn't relevant content. Pronto crawls the web for all sellers of the product online, as opposed to other comparison shopping sites that include only paid sponsors. If a user is on this page, there's a very valid need to understand how much the product costs. Nope, sorry. I barely have the time to do the things that interest me, let alone those that don't. For edification, my interests are:

• Admin-related duties (dealing with vandals and correcting page moves, mostly)
• Canadiana - things related to Canada, especially geography
• References/citations - articles are sorely lacking these

British Energy Nuclear Power Stations

As you have decided to delete the page for Hartlepool nuclear power station that I had created in an attempt to create some cinsistency, I suggest you complete the exercise and remove all my attempts at applying some consistency to the titles of the articles of power stations operated by British Energy. According to the Wikipedia:Notability (people) article, one of the criteria for inclusion is a "A large fan base, fan listing or "cult" following" and "Name recognition" all of which Dreadhead has in the Indianapolis Colts community. The Dreadhead appears in the team's opening video, in the program and on the big screen as "AAA - Fan of Game," in addition to his weekly occurences on the big screen in RCA Dome. In the Indianapolis community, the Dreadhead has been recognized on countless occasions, and in his former college community of Muncie, IN. OK I've done abit more research, it seems you were permitted to close the discussion as it was tagged for "speedy" deletion but Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion says:

Blatant advertising. Pages which exclusively promote a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having a company, product, group or service as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion: an article that is blatant advertising should have inappropriate content as well.

To me the article I wrote was In no way promoting anything. It mentioned things like firmware that wasn't working very well and some other negative information. Perhaps I could have left it as a regular AFD, but lines such as "The Bug was born of the award winning PURE Digital engineering pedigree and a great design from Wayne Hemingway" seem rather spammy to me. Further, the subject isn't well-known by google, netting less than 350 hits. While this isn't a hard rule, if google doesn't know much about something, especially commercial products, then they simply aren't encyclopedic. I was simply short-circuiting the process to its likely end, with consideration to what I've already written here. If you'd like to dispute this, you can do so at Wikipedia:Deletion review. WP:CSD#A2 deletions

I noticed that you recently deleted a couple of foreign language articles citing this criterion, although the article in question was not a direct copy of a foreign Wikipedia article. The articles were tagged by sockpuppets of a cleanup troll, who has been making the translation board practically unusable by tagging pages for speedy deletion faster than our translators can check them out. As the cleanup troll changes username after every edit, it is extremely hard to fight this behaviour, although I am now trying by help of CheckUser. Anyway, I have restored the (probably useless article) Horní Jiřetín; could you give it the usual two weeks? Thank you, Kusma (討論) 08:24, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry about that - I usually check the history for articles before deleting them, to make sure that I don't inadvertently delete articles nominated under suspicious circumstances; I obviously messed up on this one. I want to stop Wikipedia working? Not a chance! Rather, I want to remove spamlinks from Wikipedia. You've submitted quite a few links to that site, which essentially consists of one photograph of the subject, a google map with no zoom, and multiple ads - that looks like spam to me. The amount of time you spend adding links doesn't determine whether those links are spam or not; the links you are adding provide no information beyond what's already in the articles:

• the articles already have photographs of the subject, so one photo on your page isn't worth much
• the articles already have, or will have, location information attached to them - this info is linked to a Wikimedia mapping directory linking to dozens of maps (see the one for Toronto, for example - the Google Maps link is first)

In essence, there is no additional value to the links you add. (Aside: I meant that the map you provide is at the lowest zoom setting, and the user has to actually zoom in to the location, instead of already being there when clicking the link. There were numerous articles created for this product - PS4, PlayStation 4, Playstation 4 etc. Regarding Sony's claims, they are general, and show no definitive intention of creating the product (at least, not according to the cursory internet search I conducted). If you can find salient detail from reliable sources, please list them on the appropriate talk page, and also cite your concerns. I don't particularly care about this, so I'll leave it to admins that have an interest in this topic to debate the merits of re-instating or unprotecting this article. Hi there. I noticed that you intend to clean up Front porch and back porch (on your todo page, via Special:Whatlinkshere/Front porch). I don't know much about this, but I'd like to start by merging the articles, since they discuss the same topic. I had initially moved one to Porch (broadcasting), but reverted myself since that may not be entirely accurate. My question is this: what would be an appropriate name to which these can be merged? Well, what I was thinking was that several articles (those listed in my todo list (and I just added some more)) were all short articles -- barely more than dictdefs. Yet they all have a common theme -- they are all concerned with the signals that get fed into a CRT. I was thinking they could all be merged into one larger article, with a title such as CRT signalling or something like that. Such an article could address such the concepts as a cohesive whole, rather than a bunch of disjointed definitions. There's no mistake - I've deleted an article about a blog that has 20 entries, starting from October 2006, and for which no metrics exist that I could find to support your claim. Moreover, a google search indicates that the term returns many hits, but they are predominantly not related to that blog. That you find the blog notable is one thing, but that it should be included in Wikipedia is quite another. the interview conducted for his article was done by a group of straight edge kids for a documentary. this documentary never made it past an amature level and never gained much notice out of the straight edge community. a few people from the crew that made the documentary went on to be Team Empire members. this is why it said that we conducted the interview ourselves. also many of the facts and quotes come from the documentary "Ive Got the Straight Edge". You should provide better information than "my article". How do you expect me to find "your article" among the 1.5 million on Wikipedia, or the thousands I've edited. Perusing your talk page, you probably mean Jill Foucher or Jamie Najera - in which case all I can tell you is to learn the difference between an encyclopedia and MySpace. Life stories about any individual, no matter how good that person is, simply isn't encyclopedic on its own (see criteria for speedy deletion and What Wikipedia is not). Also, there must be relevant, reliable information about the individual from independent sources. I'm sorry if this seems harsh, but unfortunately, not everyone is "notable" or encyclopedic.
