NotabilityConcerning the merit and notability of the Briony Price page, I only constructed it in response to other contestants in the show having wiki pages that weren't tagged, but I can see how stuff needs to be a bit notable to be worth including. (links from the HDYSAPLM page) Apparently (reading things from people in the theatre business) any contestants that got into the final 20 have careers waiting for them in the theatre, so I would contest that in the future they may become much more notable. Thanks for the input The Sanctuary Sparrow 06:57, 9 September 2006 (UTC) Confusion from a new contributorTo date, I have made one significant submission to the Wiki project, and it has caused quite a stir. I think I know how puppies must feel after they've peed on the carpet ... my poor little nose has been repeatedly whacked with a rolled-up newspaper, and I'm still not quite sure what the problem is. You have been witness to the tail end of a lengthy discussion between myself and someone named Theophanes (if you'd like to see our email correspondence, I could forward it to you). He objected to what I wrote in the originla Evagrius article and subsequently has done copious research to prove that I was in error. His refusal to share his research with someone other than myself (and now you) is downright puzzling. I have consigned myself to never figuring out what he wants from me. I have claimed responsibility for the error. I have repeatedly defered to his knowledge of the subject. Yet, he continues to take jabs at me. Both his tone and his choice of words have become increasingly offensive to me. It feels personal. While it is possible I have read too much into his comments, there is no denying he has made this an extremely unpleasant experience for me. Is my experience typical for other first-time contributors? If it is, then I fully intend to keep my thoughts to myself so that I stay well outside the reach of that rolled-up newspaper. However, about 3 comments down Potter's House essentially attacks Engleham for badfaith in his edits and "agenda". Personally, I don't think the "supposed motivation" of one editors on an article is relevant to the AfD either. I'm hesitatant to remove them myself (as an anon editor it will be instantly questioned and/or reverted) but seeing that you already acted in good faith to maintain the integrity of the AfD, I would ask that you look into that comment as well. 205.157.110.11 09:50, 15 September 2006 (UTC) The article was added by Potters House for deletion purely out of personal spite because I had contributed to it in the past. In other words, just nuisance activity. I consider that a relevant background fact worth sharing, together with the pasted evidence of his past behavior to back it up. You consider it merely 'personal attack'. That's where we diverge, and, to confine my comments to purely content: your pathetic mealy mouthed little edit isn't worthy of my piss, let alone my time. For example, Auxerre is a general page on a French city, containing a section of ecclesiastical history which is likely to be moved out once a page on the diocese which has Auxerre as episcopal see is given its own page (which should contain more sections then just ecclesiastical history). As their is a number of diocese pages being created, and sub)categories are being created, this is quite likely - when it happens, such bypased redirects as Bishop of Auxerre would continue to point to Auxerre in stead of Bishopric of Auxerre, even worse: the ecclesiastical history section would probably be removed, so the redirect to Auxerre would make no sense, at best one would find a menti of the dicese in See also. As a reader clicking on Bishop of Auxerre I'ld rather have to click twice to get at the appropriate text then to click once but end up on a page that is not about bishops but on secular aspects of Auxerre, possibly without a clue where to click to get wher I need to be. Obviously I'm quite happy to have other, more synonymous redirects cut short. Fastifex 09:29, 16 September 2006 (UTC) Double redirectsHi, You removed some deliberate double redirects. The immediate targets of the redirects were marked as {{R with possibilities}} which prevents bots making the changes you made. If you intend on doing "bot work", I would appreciate it if you could follow the same rules as the bots too... I'm reverting those pages now. Hope this doesn't seem too unreasonable. --cfp 11:24, 16 September 2006 (UTC) ZeldaI am also a fan of the Legend of Zelda games. Welcome to Esperanza!Welcome, Merope, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association. Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow. In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals. If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work! ThanksHi, yes, I did leave a help msg on Kukini's page. I tried my first couple of edits this morning on a pair of biographies and Kukini reverted them, and I now understand why. I've also just now checked out the discussions on those pages and appreciate Kukini's attempts to maintain the integrity of the info on those pages. My concern is, those two figures are at the heart of a current controversy and are being targeted with very biased information on their pages. My edits were attempts to remove opinion and leave simple biographical info, and I'd like to try again. What's the best way to go about that? Must I argue every edit in the Discussion pages first? There are people who are very determined to skew the info on these two men. I'm curious as to why you left so severe a warning when this was a user's first vandalism warning. While the edits were certainly unconstructive, I don't know that they warranted a {{test4}}, especially given that the edits were to an article's talk page and he/she had no previous vandalism warnings.
