The Wayang Kids moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, The Wayang Kids, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article Girl Giant and the Monkey King has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NBOOK. Does not appear to have significant coverage.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 12:54, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
The article Van Hoang has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:36, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
Sure, I will try improving the article by having providing the evidence that this is a real person. Meiwuzhang (talk) 12:42, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

editHello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:56, 27 February 2022 (UTC)
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Van Hoang until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

Book article sources
editHi there, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for writing Girl Giant and the Monkey King and starting the Van Hoang article! I'm sorry that one of your first Wikipedia experiences has been having your articles put up for deletion discussion, but I think both of these are likely to be kept, so don't worry too much. You might want to have a look at those two deletion discussions to see the evidence that editors are raising there: the simplest way to show that a book or an author is notable, and therefore qualifies for a wikipedia article, is to show that it has been widely reviewed. (See WP:NBOOK for more info.) Because the general rule of thumb is that a book qualifies for an article if it has received two or more substantial reviews, it's very helpful to make sure that you have at least two reviews used as references in every book article you make, from the very first edit. This should keep people from trying to delete it.
I see that you've used Goodreads as a source for both of these articles. Because Goodreads is user-generated content, it isn't usually considered a "reliable source" (see WP:RS). Likewise, blogs and social media posts are typically not considered reliable sources either. Where you can, you should use sources like the reviews that people are bringing up in those Articles for Deletion discussions - mainstream publications, like (national) newspapers and magazines. You can use some of these now to further improve the two articles you've published, if you like!
Again, welcome, and good luck editing! Feel free to ask if you have any questions. -- asilvering (talk) 05:47, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
Advice on drafts
editHello Meiwuzhang, I noticed that you have started some articles on The Wayang Kids and The Dragon Warrior that are currently in draftspace. I wanted to encourage you to keep working on them as drafts, focusing on linking WP:RELIABLE sources like published reviews. I wasn't able to find any reviews of The Wayang Kids but I found two reviews of The Dragon Warror ([1][2]) which are enough to make it eligible for an article if you wish to write one. For the movie, I notice that the movie itself is in Chinese, so the reviews may also be in Chinese. Non-English sources are allowed for English wikipedia articles, so if you happen to be able to find and read reviews in another language, you can use them for the article. Again, if you have any questions or would like any help, feel free to ask! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 05:52, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
- Actually, I also notice that you may not have gotten a response from other editors when you wrote back because you did not "ping" them! To make sure someone is notified that you are replying to them, you have to use a template like {{re|USERNAME}} to get their attention, like so: @Meiwuzhang:. The "re" template adds the @ sign and the : automatically; you can use {{u|USERNAME}} instead if you don't want that. For the other person to get alerted that you are talking to them, you have to make sure to sign your comment with ~~~~. Happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 06:04, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Open: A Boy's Wayang Adventure has a new comment
edit- Hi @Meiwuzhang, it looks like you've got the problem with the block quotes sorted out? They're working right now for me, at least. The article will still be rejected at AfC, however, because it doesn't show that the book is notable according to the criteria at WP:NBOOK. The type of review we're looking for for this are the kinds of review that were added to Girl Giant and the Monkey King - well-known, reliable sources like Kirkus, not reviews on user-generated websites like Goodreads (these you should not link to at all), or on promotional sites like the publisher's or bookseller's website. -- asilvering (talk) 08:35, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

- @Asilvering The blockquote problem is actually not sorted out, but I think I can try to get used to the fact I'm still not seeing blockquotes but I will assume that everyone can see it. Meiwuzhang (talk) 08:56, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

- @Meiwuzhang Your edit went through fine. I removed the one remaining Goodreads link for you just now. What device are you using to edit? Maybe your mobile browser isn't refreshing the page correctly...? -- asilvering (talk) 03:37, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

As an alternative, you could list all your sources (including those that you say are not showing up) on your draft's Talk Page and leave a note at the top of the article for next reviewer before resubmitting. Hope this helps. -Liancetalk/contribs 22:58, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Ten - A Soccer Story cover.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Ten - A Soccer Story cover.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
