Dear @CaptainEek:, thank you so much for the warm welcome! Its early days and I just learned how to 'ping' so I'm using my first ever ping here. :-) Thanks for offering to answer my questions - this is all quite technical and I will need help (judging from my first day!). Before I let you go, When you say "type {{help me}}
at the bottom of this page" do you mean at the bottom of my talk page and someone will magically appear :-) or on the bottom of the Wikipedia:Questions page? Thanks again!
Cheers - Jp7311 (talk) 01:40, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Jp7311, At the bottom of this page, and someone will appear. But honestly, pinging me or another user you know, will get you faster results. We're glad you're here and editing! CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 01:44, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Kuchesar Fort, appears to have been inappropriate, and has been reverted. Please feel free to use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Your edit included a misplaced external link. David Biddulph (talk) 21:57, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Dear @David Biddulph: thanks so much for taking the time to write! That was my first edit on wiki - ever! So I thought I'd just start by adding a simple citation. But I must have entered it in the wrong way. Just so you know, I didn't realize that you had reverted my first try when I attempted my second try a few minutes later...I thought that somehow my "publish" hadn't gone through so I tried it again - which now I see was a second edit altogether. Thanks also for letting me know also about the Sandbox. Cheers, Jp7311 (talk) 02:25, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello, I'm 2604:2000:8FC0:4:68BA:3B32:8613:8B6D. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Kuchesar Fort have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:68BA:3B32:8613:8B6D (talk) 22:48, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Isha Foundation. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. DBigXrayᗙ 00:10, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
The material was copied from another website, and thus was a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. — Diannaa (talk) 01:24, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Jp7311. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Isha Foundation, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Please state how are you connected with Isha Foundation. If you’re failed to disclose it then you may be blocked by admin for violating Wikipedia policies. Harshil want to talk? 02:05, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
Hello Harshil169,
Thanks for your message, but I don't believe that my edit which you reversed was in any way a violation of any wiki rule. And you've tried to intimidate me - which I don't respond well to. So unfortunately I'm going to need to discuss this with others on the notice board. You may win on this one, but what you're doing is not cool.
Best Wishes Jp7311 (talk) 10:27, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
A summary of some important site policies and guidelines
edit- Wikipedia does not tolerate copyright violations or plagiarism. Paraphrase sources, do not steal text from them.
- "Truth" is not the only criteria for inclusion, verifiability is also required.
- We do not publish original thought nor original research. We're not a blog, we're not here to promote any ideology.
- Reliable sources typically include: articles from mainstream magazines or newspapers (particularly scholarly journals), or books by recognized authors (basically, books by respected publishers). Online versions of these are usually accepted, provided they're held to the same standards. User generated sources (like Wikipedia) are to be avoided. Self-published sources should be avoided except for information by and about the subject that is not self-serving (for example, citing a company's website to establish something like year of establishment).
- Articles are to be written from a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is not concerned with facts or opinions, it just summarizes reliable sources. Real scholarship actually does not say what understanding of the world is "true," but only with what there is evidence for. In the case of science, this evidence must ultimately start with physical evidence. In the case of religion, this means only reporting what has been written and not taking any stance on doctrine.
- It is recommended that you do not add anything relating to yourself to article space, and it is expressly forbidden to use Wikipedia to promote anything you are affiliated with.
Ian.thomson (talk) 10:04, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi Ian, I have not added ABSOLUTELY anything to Wikipedia that is promotional. In fact, I have only made 10 or so edits and they've all been news. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Would you care to share the incidence of promotional material that you refer to? Or anything relating to myself? Maybe if you took a look at my edits you'd see that this is completely untrue. And exactly why I brought it to the noticeboard.Jp7311 (talk) 10:21, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- The Business Standard piece that you copied and pasted was a press release intended to portray Isha Foundation in the praiseworthy light possible. That's promotional, not neutrally summarizing a truly third-party source. Ian.thomson (talk) 11:57, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi Ian, thanks again, but this makes no sense to me. An article in a mainstream newspaper carries a newsworthy article, but because it includes accomplishments that may impress a reader, those accomplishments can't be mentioned on Wikipedia? Is this for real? So only news that cannot impress a read may be included? I don't see anything in the article that comprises skew (floury language, opinions, adjectives, nothing). In fact its as dry and factual as it could get! :-) Jp7311 (talk) 12:31, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Some Advice
editI know that being a new editor can be difficult, and all of the semi-automated warnings can be very intimidating, I encourage you to go to the WP:TEAHOUSE just follow the link for further questions as WP:ANI is not really meant for this kind of situation even if many warning messages tell you to go there. I would also encourage you to try out the Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure again just follow the link to learn how to edit, thank you. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:68BA:3B32:8613:8B6D (talk) 00:27, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. -- Harshil want to talk? 04:09, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
