User talk:Joerg Kurt Wegner/Archive
Welcome
editI was once a user of JOELib ... ! Glad to see you here... the cheminformatics pages are waiting for you. best wishes Shyamal 03:24, 22 August 2005 (UTC)
I am fine
editThanks Joerg, I am moderately OK on the process of editing, less on the style and sometimes unclear as to what the accepted policies are. I have created Molecular graphics and Molecular model as I have spent many years in these areas and want to make sure that the history does not get lost. The main problem are copyrighted images. - Please contact for all JOELib questions the mailing lists:
- I think Wikipedia should not be used in this way. But it look's like a 'simple' classpath problem, which can be sometimes really tricky. And registration can be only granted by an administrator, since we had some SPAM issues. Analogue to the OpenBabel-Wiki only granted users can edit. If you really want to contribute, then I can give you access. JKW 16:24, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi joerge .. yes I found the links of mailinglists after i send the message to you here .. sorry for that .. about the registration .. yes I like to get an access and I will try my best to help u organizing this wiki .. Best Regads --Chaos 08:59, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

NCE vs NME
editI noticed that you moved NCE to NME. I've heard both terms used, but in my experience is that NCE is much more common and NME. I work for a pharmaceutical company that spans both the United States and Europe and it seems consistent on both sides of the Atlantic. Google turns up more hits for "new chemical entity" than "new molecular entity" too (but I'm not sure how much that means.) It doesn't matter too much to me which title the article ends up with, but I figure it's best to find out which is more common and put it there. Let me know what you think. --Ed (Edgar181) 20:48, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- I am pro, in fact I don't care which one is the main entry as long both can be find via a redirect. And you are right, new chemical entity has compared to new molecular entity almost twice the number of Google hits. BTW, nice idea with the medicinal chemistry template. JKW 20:53, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Term |google | clusty | pubmed
- NME | 56,300 | 6,180 | 15
- NCE | 111,000 | 11,644 | 125

Most drug articles use the actual drug name (Aciclovir, Sildenafil citrate, etc.) for the article title unless there is a clear precedent of genericization. Would you object to moving the prezista information over to darunavir? ˉˉanetode╞┬╡ 11:20, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

AfD
editHey - I thought I'd leave you a note that I wasn't trying to look down on your publications in my AfD commentary. Actually, the solubility and partition coefficient prediction was pretty interesting. I was just envisioning a world where everyone who published some papers in specialized journals got to have Wikipedia articles, which would be a bad thing. Opabinia regalis 06:22, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

- As I recall I made that redirect based on some Ethnologue code. I'm really not sure. -Justin (koavf)·T·C·M 13:43, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Munich
editI noticed you're a good German speaker. I'm wondering if you could help out at WikiProject Munich. Maybe you could help out with the project's Translation page. If you're interested, you can sign up here. Kingjeff 04:05, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, not at the moment, I am burried under work. Maybe on a long term. Anyway, thanks for asking. JKW 20:23, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
Help out now!
edit- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
Decision Making
editThe council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

templates
editHi, I will also give a short message here. I ran into that problem earlier as well, I only could get it to work partially using some exotic parserfunctions, but I am interested in a proper workaround. I have a test-wiki running here, feel free to edit around there, and play with the templates. The mediawiki-software is practically up-to-date. Creating <nowiki><smiles> and </smiles>User:Beetstranowiki>-tags should be really simple, I can give it a try one of these days (but getting them enabled at wikipedia .. thát is the challenge). See you around! -- Beetstra
- Thanks, time might be a limiting factor, and ... we will see ;-) JKW 16:54, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Userbox template
editSorry, but a friend much smarter than me put that template on my user page for me! You'll have to aske elsewhere, I'm afraid. Walkerma 03:58, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Pharmacology is currently organizing a new Collaboration of the Week program, designed to bring drug and medication related articles up to featured status. We're currently soliciting nominations and/or voting on nominations for the first WP:RxCOTW, to begin on September 5, 2007. Please stop by the Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week page to participate! Thanks! Dr. Cash 17:50, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Aspirin has been selected as this week's Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week! Please help us bring this article up to featured standards during the week. The goal is to nominate this at WP:FAC on September 10, 2007.
Also, please visitWP:RxCOTW to support other articles for the next COTW. Articles that have been nominated thus far include Doxorubicin, Paracetamol (in the lead with 4 support votes so far), Muscle relaxant, Ethanol, and Bufotenin.
In other news:
- Bupropion has been promoted to featured status on August 31, 2007.
- The Wikipedia:WikiProject Pharmacology main page has been updated and overhauled, to make it easier to find things, as well as to highlight other goals and announcements for the project.
- Garrondo is asking for individuals to help review Therapies for multiple sclerosis, as he is considering nominating this article for GA status.
- Fvasconcellos notes that discussion is ongoing regarding the current wording of MEDMOS on including dosage information in drug articles. All input is welcome.
Here's a brief update in some of the recent developments of WikiProject Pharmacology!
- Aspirin has just completed its two week run as the first Collaboration of the Week! Many thanks to those editors that contributed; the article got a lot of good work accomplished, and in particular, much work was done in fixing up the history section. It's still not quite "done" yet (is a wikipedia article really ever done?), but after two weeks I think it's more important to push onwards with the development of the new collaboration of the week program. I will be fixing up Aspirin in the next few days and possibly nominating it for either GA or FA status.
- Muscle relaxant has been selected as the new Collaboration of the week until October 2, 2007! This article is currently rated as a "stub", so it's got quite a bit of work cut out for collaborators! Admittedly, featured status could be a long way off,... but still attainable! At the least, maybe we could at least get it up to meeting the Good article criteria? Please stop by the article and help improve it.
- Resveratrol, having recently achieved GA status on August 16, 2007, is now making a run for featured status. This is quite a fascinating compound. If you can, please stop by its discussion page and leave comments in support of it.
- Please remember that Wikipedia is not a forum for discussing or dispensing medical advice amongst users. Specifically, talk pages of articles should only be used to discuss improving the actual article in question. To help alleviate this situation, the template {{talkheader}} may be added to the top of talk pages, reminding users of the purpose of such pages. Additionally, unsigned comments and comments by anonymous users that are inappropriate may be removed from talk pages without being considered vandalism.
- There was an interesting article on ZDNet last week about Hewlett Packard licensing its patented microneedle technology used in common inkjet printers to be used in transdermal patches to deliver a time-controlled release of drugs to patients. This information could be added to articles such as route of administration or drug delivery.
You are receiving this message because you are listed as one of the participants of WikiProject Pharmacology.
Here are a few updates in the realm of WikiProject Pharmacology:
- The Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week has been changed to Collaboration of the Month, based on current participation levels. It is also more likely that articles collaborated on for one month are more likely to achieve featured quality than articles worked on for only a week or two.
- The current Collaboration of the Month for November is Receptor antagonist. Please take a look at that article and contribute to it if you get a chance. Ideally, the article should adhere to the featured article criteria.
- Therapies for multiple sclerosis is currently a featured article candidate. If you are familiar with the featured article criteria, please visit WP:FAC and review the article.
- Anabolic steroid is the wikiproject's newest Featured Article, having been promoted on October 8, 2007.
- Theobromine was delisted as a Good Article. The Peer review and GA reassessment discussions provide suggestions on improvement. Muscle relaxant was recently reviewed for Good Article status, but not promoted. Please see the full review full review here for details.

PLP deletion
editA tag has been placed on Pipeline Pilot, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ukexpat (talk) 15:02, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
