editBroken markup
editHi, this[1] was probably a rare typo, but I thought I'd let you know anyway. By not closing the inline comment with -->, you truncated the article at that point, leaving the remainder commented-out. It might be worth watching out for that in future. Keep up the good work! – Fayenatic London 15:01, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 24
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Putto, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Passion. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Dáil Éireann edit revert
editHey, I see you undid my edit on Dáil Éireann where I changed Eireann to Éireann here. You mentioned that quote as in source. Many official English sources until the 1990s omitted any síne fada on capital letters.
Did you look at the source for the quote before undoing my edit. I can see in the source that it is quoted as Éireann.
Was I wrong in changing it to reflect the actual quote? ~ Ablaze (talk) 06:53, 15 June 2016 (UTC)
Hello, Jnestorius. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Ricardo Campos (actor), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:36, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Proposal to change WP:MOSLINK opened at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style
editGreetings! Were you aware that a proposal has been made at Wikipedia Talk:Manual of style#Proposed revision: links within quotes instead of the forum where it belongs, Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Linking? The proposal is to link terms within quotations, but I am really concerned how widely this sort of policy discussion will reach the people if it's not even discussed at its very own forum. What do you think? Cheers! Jayaguru-Shishya (talk) 16:01, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Category edit on Priory of Sion - apologies
editHey, I didn't realize you could manipulate the sorting of a category listing page by doing what you did there (just a vertical bar and a space). And I see why you want it to sort to the top to draw attention to it, since its the main article for that category. I'll leave it alone now. But I'd like to call to your attention a template called cat main that is a better way to do this. You put it in the text of the category page itself, and you get a little "hat note" at the top of the category that calls attention to the fact that article is the key one for that category. --Krelnik (talk) 20:53, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Guaranteed Irish logo.png
editThanks for uploading File:Guaranteed Irish logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:49, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the cannabis update
editNo pressure, but if you find the topic interesting, we did just recently create Cannabis in Ireland which could do with a tune-up. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 02:48, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks again for the help, Cannabis in Ireland is rather under-cited so having some good content helps balance it out. I've done some cursory searches as to what year cannabis was first made illegal in the Republic of Ireland (presumably during the Free State period per global trends) but haven't had any luck so far. If you happen to run across any mention of how/why cannabis came to be illegal there, it would be an interesting addition. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 00:35, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- And thanks again for such a great expansion; I think it's always a vital detail to nail down when a country first banned cannabis, so kudos there. I've been steadily working to create a cannabis article for every US state/territory (done now) and for every country where we have reliable sources, and it helps a ton to have experts like yourself step in to nail down the tricky bits! - All feedback is welcome; positive feedback doubly so. jnestorius(talk) 22:47, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Chief Justice (England & Wales) & Republic of Ireland equivalent
editHi, You removed an edit I made and claimed in the edit info that the closest equivalent to Chief Justice of (Republic of) Ireland is the President of the Supreme Court of the UK. That's incorrect inasmuch as the President of the UK Supreme Court is not the highest judge in that land, nor does he/she have any role in regulating or reprimanding the judiciary. This also ignores the historic aspect whereby the Supreme Court did not exist when the Free State was created and the highest court of appeal of the Irish Free State at that time was the Privy Council. The 'Supreme Court' was NOT supreme, and was modelled (down to its number of judges) on the mooted Court of Appeal for Southern Ireland which never came into being due to the Anglo-Irish Treaty. The initial Chief Justice, Hugh Kennedy, very much saw himself as succeeding prior Lord Chief Justices (albeit with the additional office of Lord Chancellor of Ireland being effectively subsumed into the new office) as can be seen from his personal papers. They just dropped the 'Lord'.78.16.206.115 (talk) 04:12, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Erasmus Smith
editHi, the article concerns the man, not the Trust that has long outlived him. I am unsure why it is you are not following the citation style but cherry-picking a couple of schools, as you did in the last few hours, isn't particularly helpful and especially so given that they, like most others, do not actually have an article.
I'm not opposed to improvements, as I would hope no-one else would be, but your two edits to Erasmus Smith don't really add anything of great relevance or suitable weight. But shades of grey sometimes elude me, so am I missing some nuance? - Sitush (talk) 00:37, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Heliconia (disambiguation)
editThe article Heliconia (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Page is not needed per WP:TWODABS. The hatnote at the primary topic is sufficient.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Gorthian (talk) 20:10, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Nomination of Heliconia (disambiguation) for deletion
editA discussion is taking place as to whether the article Heliconia (disambiguation) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — Gorthian (talk) 05:03, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
