I understand that you don't think my edit was constructive. But I did it to be destructive. I created the site. It is on the AfD list. I want to get rid of it. Hello. I'm a user on the Romanian Wikipeda and I think I'm going to initiate the Wikipedia Ads project there too. I saw one of your ads, this one and I ask you what font did you use for the text? I'd like to a similar one but I don't know the font... -- Petru Dimitriu (talk) 16:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Gill Sans, the font used by the Wikimedia Foundation. It comes with Microsoft Office and can be purchased separately; it can probably also be downloaded for free from somewhere but obviously I don't condone that sort of thing Gurch (talk) 16:50, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Wikipedia:Threats of violence, you will be blocked from editing. Bstone (talk) 04:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh please. Gurch's edit was clearly humorous. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 05:16, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- He did it right when we were dealing with a terroristic threat and I was on the phone with the FBI. He saw the chatter about it in IRC, went to TOV and blanked the page. Not funny. Bstone (talk) 17:23, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Terroristic? That's not even a word as far as I know. You're taking threats way to seriously, and this is coming from someone who has worked in antiterrorism and force protection. Contacting the FBI was your own fault, you had no legitimate reason to do so, and it was your choice; Gurch isn't responsible for your actions. You ought to calm down and maybe try to write an encyclopedia instaed of saving the world. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 19:40, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Terroristic is a word. I report all threats which have a location, mechanism and/or date/time to the appropriate authorities. Police repeatedly have told us to report these threats. I also have experience in LE and public safety and I opine to report these things. It is not my fault, however, that Gurch blanked the page. Bstone (talk) 19:46, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Really, police have told us this? I wasn't aware that you were working in the Foundation's legal department, nor handling correspondence with law enforcement through OTRS. My point is your response was over the top, and ridiculous, and since you brought it upon yourself, you have no right to be warning Gurch for "interfering" with it. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 19:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes the police have told us that. Look on WP:TOV. Bstone (talk) 21:02, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- You mean, the page that's not a policy, guideline, or any sort of official status on Wikipedia, and the only "thank you" appears to be a sarcastic "Thank you for contacting us with nothing of real substance" from the FBI? It's Super Effective! You might care to take note that (and keep in mind this is not intended to be a threat, just a statement of fact) by reporting these threats you are opening yourself up to liability, whereas by not reporting them you are protected. Or that these threats generally are a waste of law enforcement's time. Or that we have an OTRS Legal team and a General Counsel who are supposed to be dealing with law enforcement; not you. But hey, what do I know, the world needs saving, right? ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 21:15, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I could probably have phrased it more tactfully. But as far as I can see, the section Alex Grey#Paintings is almost completely original research; it gives a highly subjective editorial assessment of his work without any sources as to who has described it this way. If I placed the tag in the wrong place, or if "unreferenced" would be more appropriate, I'm happy to be guided on that. 81.132.98.34 (talk) 20:21, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Why not try what User:Ral315 has done? Invite people to add stuff here. Like a haiku or something? Huggle stuff
I should have said in amongst the feature requests, that I'm really pleased with Huggle as it is, and I do appreciate the work you've put into it - it really makes an otherwise unpleasant task much more comfortable, and gives the pleasantly smug feeling that quite a lot of vandalism is now more hard work for the vandals than for the AV editors... My editor review
I'm not assuming that edit count makes me a more valued contributor than someone with say, 500 edits. It's the actual contributions that count overall. As i'd reached that milestone I thought I'd ask for a review. Am mulling over whether to go for admin at some point in the future and I think a review would be worthwhile. WP:HAU has a new format
Due to popular demand, HAU has a new look. Since the changes are so dramatic, I may have made some mistakes when translating the data. Please take a look at WP:HAU/EU and make sure your checkmarks are in the right place and feel free to add or remove some. There is a new feature, SoxBot V, a recently approved bot, automatically updates your online/offline status based on the length of time since your last edit. To allow SoxBot V to do this, you'll need to copy [[Category:Wikipedians who use StatusBot]] to your userpage. Obviously you are not required to add this to your userpage, however, without this, your status will always be "offline" at HAU. Thanks. Useight (talk) 17:17, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Have posted a (very) long reply here, which (I hope) clarifies what I've been trying to say at WT:RFA and elsewhere about possible restrictions on automation. If you've any reply to it, it would probably be best to reply there in case anyone else comes to me from the RFA conversation and wants to join the discussion. Huggle Works Great!
Hello Gurch, I have tested Huggle and see this program is just Twinkle with extra gadgets, gizmos, and speed. It seems all those threads on ANI regarding Huggle drama really came down to the user not taking caution when reverting with the program. I wouldn't worry about the future of it. I believe the suggestion in the recent ANI thread of placing sterner caution notices regarding the program should be remedy enough. Any other problems fall down to the user themself. Thanks again for sending me the file, I will try to use it with the utmost care :)!¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:05, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: bot to regularly update {{Vandalism information}}
Why not side step any interpretation issues by creating another, separate template for VFs where a bot simply updates it with edits per minute and reverts per minute. For any regular VF, that is all that is needed, IMO. Also, I think it would be interesting to have somewhere a log of reverts per minute so that we could get an actual picture of peak vandalism times. (I'm not surprised you encountered issues related to interpretation - it is the 'subjectiveness' when choosing levels which makes wdefcon rather useless. The other problem is that because wdefcon is not updated regularly, sometimes the 'alert' is several hours old.) Anyway, thanks for your response and also for huggle--an outstanding utility with virtually no bugs (in my experience, at least). κaτaʟavenoTC 18:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Source code?
Hey, I really like Huggle and I noticed your offer to send the source code by email on request. Then I noticed you don't have email enabled... If you don't want to send it out, I totally understand, but I haven't been able to successfully decrypt huggle beyond 19065 KB of machine code, even when using MS Visual Studio 2005 Pro Ed. (And wow does that mc hurt my eyes.... ;) ). If your offer is still open, I do have email enabled (what I've done in the past when emailing files to fellow users of teh wiki is to email them and tell them on their talk page, then they reply to the email to give me their actual email address and then I send them the file) and I'd really like to take a look at the code for that. I have dabbled some in VB, but I never really made anything more complicated than a customizable equation solver. Regards. Thingg⊕⊗ 18:10, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
