Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

edit

The current pic is just fine, it seems like you just want to replace it with the Australian box (which is the same, just with the OFLC rating instead of the ESRB rating). That means there is no reason to change the boxes. TJ Spyke 05:12, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Kindly help me to make sure that the "List of characters in the Ice Age films" stays free of intereference from the IP 24.20.47.60. He is vandalising the page and adding information under false pretenses.

--KnowledgeLord 22:34, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I saw on the ARV you was having some trouble on the Ice Age page with this guy 24.20.47.60, just thought I should let you know he made a change to this page: Synocnus, I dont know what the hell a Synocnus is, that's why I'm not gonna change it. But I assume it has something to do with Ice Age. Ryan4314 13:18, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

North Ayrshire

edit

Hi, Can you please discuss article name changes on talk pages before arbitrarily renaming them. Fraslet 12:15, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your adding of "North Ayrshire" to Saltcoats has created a disambiguation situation as there are two other Saltcoats, which used to be separated from Saltcoats as they have county names added, and Saltcoats did not. Manxruler 12:52, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ewan, I have reversed, as far as possible, the North Ayrshire page moves you did. See the Largs talk page for the reasons. However, we are still left with a mess on both the Largs and Saltcoats articles, which will probably require admin help to clear up.

Montgomery Park

edit

Hi Ewan, I was going post this at the talk page for the Montgomery Park article and submit a deletion proposal but thought I'd bring it straight to you first instead. To be honest I don't see why this housing estate deserves its own article, especially since all that can really be written about the place is that it exists! It certainly wouldn't survive a deletion proposal in my opinion. How about integrating the information into the Irvine article or Girdle Toll article? --Dreamer84 23:32, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

You can't delete the article yourself, but if you blank the page and insert {{Db-author}} it will be flagged to be deleted by an admin. --Dreamer84 22:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ewan. Please read Wikipedia:Vandalism. While the IP editor's edits were not good edits, they were not vandalism. Vandalism is a deliberate attempt to make an article worse; this was not the case. We assume good faith - if the editor has made an edit you feel makes the article poorer, then by all means undo it, but aggressively warning the editor and threatening them with a block is not how to resolve a problem. Please learn what vandalism actually is before threatening IP users with being blocked in the manner you did. Please also bear in mind that given the articles the IP was editing, it may be a young user. We should try and be nice (and if not nice, at least civil), to all users, but especially the new ones. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best, Neil  13:38, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use disputed for Image:Zeke Sabre Toothed Tiger.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Zeke Sabre Toothed Tiger.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:MannytheMammoth.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MannytheMammoth.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Scrat.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 21:46, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Scratthesabretoothedsquirrel.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Scrat.JPG. The copy called Image:Scrat.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. We have a sizable problem

edit

The cartoon films about animals (i.e Ice Age or Madagascar) are under siege by the other editors who claim that that stuff regarding what animals were there has no place in the articles. I'm thinking that if they won't have that info on the film pages, we can at least move it to the pages about the characters. What do you say? --KnowledgeLord (talk) 02:12, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ewan, this is KnowledgeLord speaking: I have something I hope you'll find interesting. There is a Wiki page dedicated to "The Mummy" film series that I contribute on, and we're a bit short-handed, as I'm the only one that seems to contribute. I'd like to ask you this: how about a spot as a contributor there? Tell me what you think. --KnowledgeLord (talk) 20:26, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
