info box for Derrick Spiva
Hello, I am wondering what the info box colors signify for musicians- I see you keep on changing the box for the article Derrick Spiva, trying to pick the most appropriate categorization. Right now he is listed as "non-vocal instrumentalist" but he actually does also sing and rap at times, so I am not sure if that is the best categorization. Is there a list somewhere of all the possible listings for musicians that I could look at and try to see which would fit best? If so please let me know.
Thanks.

Thank you for helping with new article

Help me with info box and shorter name for article
I added a couple of names to the info box of the article, Evil (garage rock band from Miami). I tried to use the nomenclature you used to set it up, but I couldn't get it to work properly. So, I ended up chagning way it was done--I think that I messed it up. I ended up having to use bullets to keep the names on seperate lines. I really liked the way you did it better. Is there a way you could return it to your method, but with the two new names I added?
Also, I think that I may have made the title of the article too wordy and long. Could you can help me shorten the title of the article to:
- Evil (Miami garage band)
- or
- Evil (Miami band)
- Evil (Miami garage band)
Whichever one you think sounds best. Garagepunk66 (talk) 06:23, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Also: I created an article about The Grodes. I was wondering if you could see if there are any format improvements that could be made there. Thanks. Garagepunk66 (talk) 06:29, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Thank you so much, once again, Bonnie13J for your improvements on both of these sites--they now look terriffic! Your improved title of the site on the band, Evil is perfect! Garagepunk66 (talk) 03:52, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

Kalevala
Hello Bonnie13J,
I saw HERE that you renamed Kalevala (Russian band) to Kalevala (band). The reason: No other bands named Kalevala so no need for nationality disambiguation. Well, I'm afraid that your research wasn't complete. I knew that there are other bands with the same name:
- There's a Macedonian band: see HERE and HERE.
- And there has been a progressive rock band in Finland with the same name, too. See HERE and HERE.
That's why I chose for the addition of the adjective 'Russian' so that the article didn't have to be renamed if someone might want to write an article about the Macedonian or the Finnish band.
I'm sorry that I didn't documentate about the two other Kalevalas. I have now added them to the disambiguation page so that everyone can see that there are (have been) three bands with that name. Erik Wannee (talk) 07:32, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for adding an infobox! Consider to use {{infobox person}}, because "musical artist" is not really made for operatic singers. What would this "background" parameter add? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:50, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
- Similar case: Amadio Freddi. Try the infobox suggested above, discarding parameters that are not needed, keeping it simple: name, data of birth and death, more only if helpful to understand the person at a glance. There are models, such as Philipp Glass and Peter Planyavsky. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:07, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

The Dangerous Crew
Hi Bonnie13J. I noticed that you were the last person to edit The Dangerous Crew so I thought I would let you know about the edits I made. I have added 1 album (which peaked at 83 on the charts), created a table, and redirected Rappin' Ron and Bad-N-Fluenz to the article. This may require some cleanup but I'm not sure; I just thought I'd let you know. Thanks Ben0kto (talk) 23:36, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Perhaps this is an aspect of the musical artist Infobox that I'm not familiar with, but what is the purpose of the underscores you've added to the Pedro Knight Infobox? Need help with formatting on article for Irish band, The Wheels
I have just created a new article for the 60s Irish band, The Wheels. Request for help
Hi. I am working with a bunch of new Wikipedians at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library. The Museum & Library has a growing collection of WWI and WWII sheet music scores, which include really notable songs, songwriters, lyricists, and Tin Pan Alley sheet music cover illustrators for which there are no current articles on Wikipedia. Here's an example of a E. E. Walton article draft. If you see any of their articles like the one on Fred K. Huffer which you tweaked, please help them out. I am sure they'll appreciate it. I know I will. TeriEmbrey (talk) 20:32, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
Need help with The Spiders (American rock band) article
I just added some citations to the The Spiders (American rock band) article, and I was wondering if you could help by working your usual magic--tidying the format up. Also: I noticed that someone changed the title of the article. It is important to have Alice Cooper's name in the title, so people can properly reference the article. Also, the present title makes the band appear to be a big-name corporate kind of stadium act, when they were garage rock band in the 60s. However, I admit that my original title could have been better, too. After thinking it over, I have found the perfect title that would be best for the article:
- "The Spiders (later Alice Cooper band)"
This proposed title works much better than either of the previous two. Part of the difficulty in finding the right title is that the band, after being called the Spiders, went to being called "Alice Cooper" as the whole group name. Then later, it became used as a stage name just for the band's lead singer, Vincent Furnier, who eventually went out on his own. My original title may have caused confusion for those who are unaware of this. But, the current title is completely unacceptable. So, the new proposed title keeps the "Alice Cooper" in the marquee as it should be, but also avoids the confusion of the first title. I was wondering if you could help me change to this new title. Thanks. Garagepunk66 (talk) 06:17, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- You made a good point that it would be best to retain the current title. Thanks for the touch-ups! Garagepunk66 (talk) 01:34, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Need technical help with two articles
I need technical help with two articles: The Bruthers (garage rock band) and Los Gatos Salvajes (band). In addition to doing your regular magic on touching up the format, I was wondering if you could help me with some issues concerning the names of the articles and false re-directs.
- The Bruthers (garage rock band) should read "The Bruthers." However, that name was unavailable, because "The Bruthers" already re-directs to the article about Joe Delia, who was a former member of that very same band. So, I was wondering if we could get the name changed to "The Bruthers" for the band article and undo its re-direct to Joe Delia (I will make sure that there are links the Joe Delia in the band's article and vice-versa in the other article). The Bruthers are famous for the song "Bad Way to Go," which is cherished as a garage rock classic.
- The title to Los Gatos Salvajes (band) should read Los Gatos Salvajes. However, the simpler title is unavailable right now , because it is being used as a re-direct to the band Los Gatos, who formed after Los Gatos Salvajes broke up and consisted of some of the members from the former band. While the first band, Los Gatos Salvajes, did not have the same degree of success as the later, they are still notable. Allmusic describes them as "the first teenage rock & roll band in Argentina" (I toned that down a little to read "one of the first.."). However, they are the first rock band of note from that country and should rightfully be considered pioneers in their nation's musical history. There are two articles: one for each of the two bands at Wikipedia en Espanol.
As always, I appreciate your help. I don't mean to inconvenience you, but your help is so important to success of these articles. Perhaps you could keep watch on me for the next month or two. I will be creating a bunch of new articles. I finally have a new computer and some time on my hands. Thanks, Garagepunk66 (talk) 23:29, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
- I was wondering if you could help me tidy up the Sons of Adam article. I don't want to inconvenience you in any way. In the future I will try to set up the citations with a formula that would better consolidate them. It's just that I get so busy with the writing, I just write, write, write... And, I've always been afraid that I might screw up the citation or do it in a way that does not show all of the necessary information to be mentioned in the citation--and I like to put a lot of detail in them. Garagepunk66 (talk) 04:15, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
I've finally taken the time learn how to do the citations right. So I will not need as much help from now on. However, if I run into a glitch here and there, I'll let you know. When I finish the big expansion on the Garage rock article, I will go back and fix the citations at the Sons of Adam article (mentioned above). I think you'll love to see my expansion on the garage rock article when I finish (probably later this week), not so much for technical help, but just to enjoy reading it. It is going to take a big leap foward. Garagepunk66 (talk) 03:45, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
I've noticed that you've helped touch-up some of the articles and I really appreciate your assistance.Garagepunk66 (talk) 02:44, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Another technical problem
- Right now my user talk page is not showing some of the threads that should be there (the ones that should be on the bottom of the page, such as the one you sent to me the other day. When you go into the edit page, you then see them, but they do not appear on the actual page. In fact, one thread gets cut off. Is it because a few days earlier, I deleted some of the older threads (but then cut and pasted them into the archive--I wrote that in comments)?
- When I go to get my edit count a page appears saying that it is not working.
I don't know if it is just me or if this is part of a larger system-wide error. I don't know if you would be the person that could fix Garagepunk66 (talk) 03:38, 22 June 2015 (UTC)this or if you could recommend me to someone who can. I wish I was better on the technical side of Wiki, but I hope I make up for it with good writing in the articles. Garagepunk66 (talk) 04:25, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Luckily these problems are solved--it was a system-wide issue. Please disregard message above. Garagepunk66 (talk) 03:38, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

'background' field - DJ_Next infobox
Hi there,
Thanks for picking up and fixing the mistakes I made in my edits. I'm not used to editing here and am only doing so because I have recently recovered the page in question which had been hijacked then redirected incorrectly. I didn't mean to blow away the background field entry of the info box first time. On review of your last edit and subsequently the relevant docs and similar pages ( eg; DJ_Bonez ) I have changed the background param value to 'non_vocal_instrumentalist' as I feel it is more accurate. Please feel free to get back to me if you know / feel that isn't right.
