About Me
Hello, everyone. I am Codename Noreste (previously 64andtim), and this project is my home wiki. In real life, I am a dude and I attend college several days a week.
Outside of Wikimedia, I am available on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and Discord under the name codenamenoreste, and I'm sometimes active on several test wikis, where I go under the same name on Test Wiki, for example.
You may call me Codename Noreste, Codename, Noreste or simply CN; if you encounter another user with the name Codename (or another Codename Noreste elsewhere), don't assume they are me.
One more thing, I am a mentor, and if you are a new user in need of help, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page.
OK, so my intros explain what I am. It's a TL;DR situation below, but do you want to read? Sure, keep going.
So tell me about yourself...
As 64andtim, my first edit to this project was creating a user page with some userboxes and a sentence. My second edit included this diff. Some people may call this a mistake, but I was a very new user at the time, and I was trying to help, instead of doing more harm than good. After installing RedWarn, fighting vandalism and spam couldn't get any easier than that, but sometimes (and rarely) I make some kind of mistake by accident. Nowadays, I no longer use RedWarn, nor Ultraviolet.
When I got rollback enabled on my account, I've started using tools and scripts that require rollback to fight vandalism and spam much easier and faster than if I were to manually revert or undo such edits. I use Selective Rollback to massively revert a user's edits (mass/rapid vandalism or spam), add an edit summary when I revert, and others. Next, I became a pending changes reviewer, which allows me to review and revert edits on pages protected by pending changes. My CVUA training page can be found here, and while you might see some errors I have made, that training greatly enhanced my ability to identify vandalism in which it requires my judgment and senses.
So obviously, I use a variety of anti-vandalism tools to assist me in keeping this project clean from disruption, and I also use SWViewer to watch out for disruption on other projects, as well as the abuse log on Meta. For other stuff related to anti-vandalism and spam, I sometimes encounter grossly offensive/libelous or promotional usernames (both will obviously have to be reported if they vandalize or promote themselves). For long-term abusers, I know some of them and I can tell by their activities and habits. While reverting their edits, I deny recognition to them, and even blank their talk pages. Sometimes, when they vandalize other projects, I report them to SRG and revert their edits, if I can find any. On the flip side, when I don't feel like reverting bad stuff on this project, I sometimes do content work to save me from boredom (e.g. adding references, rewriting, etc.).
In addition to fighting vandalism and spam, I also help with edit filters. The community has trusted me to be an edit filter helper, and I am did run for edit filter manager once, but I did not succeed, perhaps because of some concerns I'd rather not talk about here. My last couple of edit filter helper nominations also did not succeed to the point where I had to withdraw, perhaps because I was getting the hang of how edit filters work, and how could I have the trust to not stuff the beans up my nose. In addition, the Meta community has also trusted me to view all filters on all projects, and I have written some global filters on Meta, in addition to local filters in this project.
One more thing before my explanation ends, I have never edited Wikipedia for pay, and if I have did, I will disclose it here.
Questions and answers
Have you been blocked?
I was blocked for one week because somebody thought I engaged in a good and bad hand sockpuppetry situation, but that wasn't the case at all; that LTA made multiple accounts to impersonate me and other users, and they were all blocked indefinitely but that included me (blocked for one week) and my alternative account (blocked indefinitely). Hours later, both of my legitimate accounts were unblocked per some discussion about my block on my talk page. You may wish to view my block log if you want.
Anyway, goodbye to my no-block streak.
How can I leave you a message?
If you want to leave me a message, I will be more than happy to respond to your message on my my user talk page, or if you have any sensitive concerns, emailing me is preferred (as with other human editors, I may sometimes make mistakes). If you leave me a message in Spanish, I will reply in that language on my talk page or on the Spanish Wikipedia.
Congratulations from both myself and all of the instructors at the Counter Vandalism Unit Academy, on your successful completion of my CVUA instruction and graduation from the Counter Vandalism Unit Academy. You completed your final exam with 91%. Well done and congratulations again. If you chose to request rollback, you may link your lessons here on your request. A plate of Dosa for you
Here is a plate of Dosa for you. Dosa is a South Indian food and is a fermented crepe or pancake made from rice batter and black lentils. Hope you'll like it. For your anti-vandal work. Thank you.
Thanks for all you do in counter-vandalism... keep it going! Volten001☎ 10:11, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Thank you for reverting all of that disruption made by SophiaS333. You were extremely quick with catching it all, which in turn keeps Wikipedia accurate, reliable, and healthy. Wikipedia needs contributors like you, and I really hope that you stay with us for many years in the long-term. I created my account when I was bored in the High School library during class, and I was disruptive too (seriously, look at my first contributions). At the time, I never imagined that, almost 17 years later, I'd be who I am on Wikipedia to this day. Please keep up the great work, and if you enjoy what you're doing here, PLEASE take off your jacket and stay awhile. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk)(contribs) 04:52, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

Bishonen said you helped out in dealing with a nasty case of racism and anti-semitism. You deserve a barnstar as well. I dream of horses(Hoofprints)(Neigh at me) 19:47, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
